First Time for Lunch and Loved It!
We've been here several times for dinner, but a change in the starting time for our ball game opened a new lunch experience. We always love the patio seating because it is much quieter for conversation. The food is excellent. Our server, Andrew, was exceptional. The whole canal area is perfect for a stroll before or after.

Beautiful setting, lovely grapefruit mojito, delicious filet and tasty ribs, but the Sancerre was too sweet for our palates. Service was excellent!

Had a lovely meal. Great service and food. Not sure it is truely 'Mediterranean' but we all love it. Gorgeous environment and location.

Lunch at olive and ivy. Nice menu, very busy. You can order same food off menu and sit outside if you want. It was the type of restaurant that people from Scottsdale came to be seen. Some of the attire was very interesting. Many people came there to meet another person. People watching is definitely entertaining.

It seems to be a pattern in the Phoenix area that when one goes into a restaurant solo one is told that the only seating available for single diners is at the bar. If I had been given a table my review of Olive & Ivy would have been five-star. There was a good variety of dishes one the menu and I chose one of the vegetarian options. After a recent bad experience at a vegetarian restaurant, I was pleased that the bartender recommended their sweet potato cannelloni as am house specialty. It deserved to be: it was simply delicious. The cannelloni stuffed with something like a sweet potato pie filling, were surrounded by mushrooms, nuts and other veggies swimming in a rich butter sauce. I would like to get the recipe! There were a number of recognizably good wines on the wine list, at reasonable prices; I had an excellent albarino. Yes, pricing at Olive & Ivy is very user-friendly. No wonder the place tends to be full! Reservations recommended if you don't want to eat at the bar.

Second time here, first was for dinner which was enjoyable, save for a very loud and rowdy party of eight seated nearby. My bride and I thoroughly enjoyed our late lunch/early dinner today. Our server JC was excellent, the perfect combination of professional and friendly. I would come back just to have him as my server again. We asked to be seated by the canal and were given a four table for two. My bride had the hummus and it was absolutely the best ever. JC told us the kick it has is jalapeno pepper. Best ever. I had the piccante flatbread and it was a very generous serving. We were there mid afternoon but I noticed they had many staff and servers and runners. Management obviously cares about service to employ so many folks at a slow time. Kudos to Olive and Ivy. You will always have my business and my gratitude.

Very nice setting and terrific food and drink. Definitely plan ahead. We were in Scottsdale for 2 weeks and we had to settle for a 5.15 reservation 2 days before we left.
Be the first to ReplyHands down A MUST if visiting Scottsdale!
First time to Scottsdale and I have to say the food and drink scene is super vibrant. Every time I stepped into a new restaurant, I swore it was one of the best places I had eaten at, until I came here. Ok let’s start off with a shoutout to KJ; what a great server he is. KJ needs to have a class or write a book on how to be an over-the-top server, and people should attend or read. KJ, you are bomb. A few notes about this place: 1. Ambiance is really great. This place gives off a trendy vibe, but not too ‘to be seen’. I saw a mixture of couples, families, girl groups and guy groups. 2. The place is huge; there is an outdoor area that was not utilized due to rain. 3. Food is really good; can tell it’s quality ingredients and the flavors made perfect sense. I mean it was genius to have an eggs benedict over crab cakes (in lieu of the usual English muffin. 4. We had just one drink (espresso martini) but it was really good. Pretty sure the other drinks are just as good! 5. Their complementary focaccia and dipping sauce is soooo yummy. I mean I can eat that alone and not even order a meal. 6. We already covered service….KJ was awesome but even his partners were good. They cleared the tables fast and didn’t leave any dirty plates on the table, which is kinda a pet peeve of mine. Of the 10 restaurants we covered in 3.5 days, I’d say Olive & Ivy was my absolute favorite. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back one of these days.
Be the first to ReplyGreat dining spot!
We made our reservation well in advance which was good because this is a very popular spot. We got off to a slow start when no one visited our table to offer drinks for about 10mins. But once they realized this, a manager visited our table to take our drink order and our first round was on the house, which was nice customer service. The food was excellent and the atmosphere is really lovely. The patio looked lovely, so I’d sit out next time.
Be the first to ReplyAtmosphere is really nice but food is just okay
Ambiance was great with nice evening lights and propane heaters. Also the decor was cool and modern. Portions of food are really good. For appetizers we ordered a trio of bruschetta and each one had a different topping such as butternut squash, prosciutto, and mozzarella with heirloom tomatoes; grilled pit with hummus; and shrimp and calamari. Appetizers were great! For dinner our group ordered rock shrimp tagliatelle, crispy Japanese sweet potato, original lasagna, cheeseburger, and another lasagna but this one came deconstructed. My husband and I asked to share the lasagna. We ordered it without the meat sauce and asked for more veggies and to split the order. It came out with noodles, tomato sauce and veggies but in a child size bowl for myself and my husband. Our son didn't finish all of his cheeseburger so my husband finished off his. The meat in the cheeseburger was really good quality but a little dry. Basically, the lasagna could have been done better. For dessert we ordered a butterscotch caramel cake. The cake was delicious. In the end, the pros are that the ambiance is nice and portions of food are large. Cons are that food was okay and service was really slow. Took us a little over 3 hours t finish our meal. They lost stars due to slow service.

Our visit was so fun! 1st time in Scottsdale. Server Nicki was so nice and made our stay enjoyable. The bread and pesto was the best ever! We will be back for sure!

Absolutely delicious food. Love the pesto parm dip! That’s enough reason to come back. Moderately priced Noise level ok Seat and table location was not the best.

Delicious beet salad. Lots of delicious beets with arugula, cheese, and nuts. Tasty light dressing. Delicious chopped salad with chicken breast. Another very good salad and dressing. Got delicious focaccia bread slices with the best pesto in oil to put on bread. A must try! KJ was a friendly attentive server. Could tell he loved his job and made us feel very welcome. Patio setting is beautiful.

We were asked to reserve a table for brunch for five guests until 2 pm. We agreed. Arrived at 2. First glass of wine served at 2:20 when we ordered entrees. The five entrees arrived at 3:30. One not prepared as shrimps were raw now grilled. Server smiling but useless. No way acknowledged abysmal service. Manager stopped by to offer apologies and advised shrimps would be redone “in a while”. Welcome to Scottsdale as PGA and SUPER BOWL fill the agenda for the next week. Service at a low point. Find a different venue.

We met friends for dinner who suggested this restaurant. Located downtown, there was easy free parking and multiple other nearby restaurants. The food choices were interesting and tasty. Great outside heaters. I would eat here again.

We were in town for business and found this restaurant through TripAdvisor. We were glad we made a reservation! It’s busy and we see why! The scallops were amazing! We loved the look of the restaurant and the service was fast. This place is obviously well designed and managed. Highly recommend if you like the menu.

Delicious food, great service and fabulous location on the canal. We loved this restaurant so much we came back a second time on our holiday. Definitely recommend! You will need reservations.

Very exceptional restaurant to enjoy a meal. Our server was very attentive but yet did not bother us constantly. Offered great recommendations. Wife had the ravioli and said it was some of the best. I had lasagna. Interesting. Not your typical layered pasta and filling. Was made with a smaller pasta noodle with meat sauce and cheese. Sort of deconstructed. I loved it. You will not be disappointed.
