The food here is quite good, but the waitstaff really seem as if they either do not like their job or they have no personality at all (this seems harsh, but it is my summation of their attitude). It kind of ruined our whole experience; especially after spending a week in San Diego, where the waiters are so dynamic and fun! My partner and I enjoyed the eggplant souffle; such a modern and elegant take on an eggplant parmesan; I would definitely order this appetizer again. We also ordered the carpaccio, which was fine, but very little beef and quite a lot of acidity. The star of the night was the special ravioli with scallops and sea bass! This dish was wonderful!! We also loved the banana bread pudding!

Over an hour wait for food for 3 of us, with no update or apology from the waiter. Other tables got their food and we felt ignored. Very excellent homemade pasta however. Service was our primary issue, food was 5*!

Pasta too salty. Bruschetta need spices. Overall, grossly overpriced. Water was the best part of our meal.

This New Year was a hit! a little on the pricey side but if money an I ssue and you are looking for an experience this is the spot. I started the night with array of seafood, spicy tomato-garlic broth, I forgot the name but It was so good I definitely will be ordering it for future visits. I followed up with the beef tenderloin and the flavors were oozing through on top of potatoes and sautéed spinach, so amazing and it was filling to say the least. I finished off with the crème brûlée that was also delicious! Absolutely 10 out of 10!

We were quite excited to try Olio, we had made reservations in advance. At the beginning everything went well, server came and asked if we needed drinks. We placed a drink order. Server took some time to come get our order, we had two kids with us, he didn't mentk
Be the first to ReplyService was solid, food was just alright.
The place felt tired, in need of some inspiration. Our server was the best part of our experience, and his care and thoughtfulness contributed meaningfully to our overall experience. Sadly, for the price and the reviews we read, we ended up underwhelmed.
Be the first to ReplyDefinitely worth the money.
Classically prepared food with no corners cut. Whether meet or pasta dishes, the flavor are what you want.

Historically a long time spot locals could count on for elevated dining experience. But sadly, they too have given up the quality of service and food for increased seating capacity that they clearly cannot manage. Our party of 6 had a reservation after a show, yet they were not ready for us nor seemed to want to take us. The restaurant cleared out and we were the only table to serve but this seemed to annoy them. The rudeness continued throughout the evening. Nothing refined in the demeanor of our waiter. He acted irritated and even condescending. The food - 1/2 was good but several dishes mediocre, not the specialness we formerly recall from Olio dining. We are local. May give them a try again mid-week when maybe less busy. Would keep to the meat dishes versus the pasta dishes which were mediocre at best.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing menu, great staff, incredible wine list.
Had our post wedding dinner there two weeks ago. They have a back room with its own bathroom that you can have private parties in.
Be the first to ReplyReally good food and good service! When asking the waiter
Really good food and good service! When asking the waiter for recommendations he was honest on what what it taste good depending on my dietary needs (no cheese, no cream).

For the price, you're better off going to Tre Lune in Montecito. Our meal was good and service was good though. Just not the quality you expect for the price.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely the best, we attended a Birthday Celebration.
A private party of about 25. The service was perfect, food beyond perfect. Wines and bar service excellent. I will definitely be recommending to family and friends.
Be the first to ReplyI made reservations here because the food looked amazing
I made reservations here because the food looked amazing and my partner and I were looking forward to an amazing anniversary dinner. We arrived at 7:45 and were seated within 10 minutes but the table we were given was extremely wobbly and the silver ware we were given was dirty and we had to ask for new ones and even our candle on the table was not lit. Once we ordered drinks and food the appetizer arrived in a timely manner but our drinks took around 25 minutes for 2 simple cocktails. Our entrees took about 45 minutes to an hour to get to our table while 3 other tables who were seated and ordered after us were also served before us. We asked our waiter for a refill on cocktails and food and finally after asking for about the 3rd time we were served. Once we started eating the wobbly table got worse and my drink spilled over a bit which then the server finally put something under it. For the price we paid and tipped we definitely expected much more out of a restaurant than what was given, service was good at the start but then turned terrible and it wasn't even a rush time. The food itself was tasty but would have been enjoyed much more if everything came out in a decent time/together.

Meh. I wanted to like this place bc their sister pizza restaurant is excellent but the food here is kind of underwhelming, like every other italian restaurant in sb, and overpriced. pappardelle was the only pasta dish that was tasty and pasta was fresh and handmade. bread was kind of dry and tasteless. i wouldnt come back here or recommend it really. its a 3.5 stars.
Be the first to ReplyNot a good spot for vegetarians.
Other than pasta they didn't have any vegetarian entrees. The server said we could order a vegetable platter that was off menu, but they got confused in the kitchen and it didn't come. But it's a good thing because we also ordered the dover sole fish special which turned out to be $55! For a filet of fish? I mean it tasted good, but it felt like trickery to be told verbally the specials (not listed on menu) and then for it to be outrageously expensive. No one wants to feel cheap and ask their server how much the special is, which they seem to be taking advantage of.
Be the first to ReplyOur first time here.
We had terrific food and John was a great waiter. We started with the tomato with mozzarella cheese. One of us had the New Zealand lamb chops, one had the asparagus pasta and I had the spicy pasta with shrimp, squid, mussels and clams. Everyone really liked their meals and we would definitely go back again.
Be the first to ReplySuper rude service.
When I made an reservation, theres lots of noise in their side and they cannot hear me clearly, after I tired two times, they just hung up my phone... wordless

A very kind man recommended this place so my husband and I made a reservation. The experience was good however the seating was way too close to others and you did not have much room or privacy. So I knock a star from my rating based on the environment and COVID worries. Our waiter was good but you could tell he was busy and the experience seemed a little rushed. My husband enjoyed the pasta carbonara and I enjoyed the pasta bolognese. The pasta was really good - homemade fresh and full of flavor. I give them much credit for their pasta!Food was good, wine was good, dessert was good. Would I go back? Probably not. lol

What a wonderful dining experience! We were early for our reservation, but the hostess gladly sat us early. We ordered the Caprese salad, the seafood linguine, and the salmon. It was all delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed environment. I will gladly come back when in town.

Worth the drive all the way from Los Angeles! Everything here is absolutely fresh, authentic and delicious - from the appetizers to the pastas - entrees to desserts. Loved the outdoor seating for lunch - heaters were available, but not even needed today, December 3rd:) There is also a lovely bodega attached to the restaurant - stocked with amazing Italian treats to take home : olive oils, Italian fruit juices, spices, spreads, etc.

I really was looking to forward to trying this place and it's unfortunate how much of a disappointment it turned out to be. Firstly, the hostess was incredibly rude and unreasonable. We came for dinner at 5pm, ALL the tables outside were open. She said they had 1 table available left and the rest were reserved. We sat at a tight table & I asked to move to a different table- I am pregnant and wanted a little more room. She said no because all the other tables were reserved. I said fine, because I was hungry. I ordered a spaghetti with marinara sauce and my husband ordered a lasagna. My spaghetti tasted plain & bland, no flavor at all. My husband said the lasagna tasted good, which is why I'll give 2 stars. We were there for an 1.5 hour and guess what there were 6 tables still wide open!!! How absurd and ridiculous to be unreasonable to customers who ask to be accommodated for a little bigger table when tables are available . I will not be returning to this restaurant. I will take my money else where to another Italian restaurant where the food will be delicious and the hostess won't be on power trip! ** I just saw other peoples reviews about the rude hostess- this old lady is really on a power trip. Wouldn't surprise me if she was prejudice against my husband and I as ALL the tables were open & she was acting like she was doing me a favor by seating me at a terrible seat.
