Below is a picture of the pour on a $15 glass of beer. Come here for the bonfire of the vanities experience. $29 for two bottles of sparkling water. Dinner was $290 a head, portions so small I left starving.

During my weekend visit to NYC, my friends insisted on taking me to Oiji Mi. Admittedly, I wasn't expecting much, given my previous experiences with elevated Korean cuisine. However, by the end of the 5-course meal, I was thoroughly impressed - as were my friends and I. Here's my breakdown of each course: 1st course: Beef tartare: 5/5 Spotted prawn: 4.5/5 Pumpkin gyeran-jjim: 4/5 2nd course: BBQ calamari: 4/5 Striped jack Hoei: 3/5 Bossam: 4/5 3rd course: Chilli lobster: 4/5 Oiji bowl: 5/5 (an extra $35 well worth it) 4th course: Dry-aged duck: 4/5 Sea bass: 4/5 5th course: Goguma bingsoo: 5/5 Chapssal donut: 5/5 The beef tartare stole the show in the first course, while the Oiji bowl was the highlight of the entire meal. The uni, possibly sourced from Hokkaido, was incredibly fresh and creamy. Although the fourth course was good, it paled in comparison to the Oiji bowl. However, the desserts - the goguma bingsoo and chapssal donut - were absolutely phenomenal. I'd return just for those alone. Overall, I highly recommend dining at Oiji Mi. The modern yet elegant ambiance, impeccable service, and exceptional dishes make it a must-visit. Don't hesitate - just go for it!
Be the first to ReplyThe food and drinks were amazing.
The atmosphere of the place is comfortable and any table you sit at feels special. The service is incredible. It really is so apparent just how much love and care the staff puts into everything they do here, especially making guests feel very taken care of and valued. No complaints at all here!

Just upon entering the restaurant you can already tell the first-rate experience you're about to have is going to be exemplary. The decor is modern and creative and the whole room feels like a scene from a movie. The service was incredible. Our waiter was extremely welcoming to us and very patient. He definitely knew everything on the menu well enough to tell sell us on. He suggested a sake that was very good and went well with the meal. The pace that the food came out at was also perfect. There was enough time between courses to have conversations, but not too much time that made us wonder when the next course was coming. The food was very very impressive. Everything was above par and Michelin star worthy. For the second course, I shared to Bo Ssam with one of my friends and it was probably my favorite part of the meal, besides dessert. The presentation was gorgeous and the portion was big for a restaurant like this. The pork belly and oysters paired so well together, I wish I could eat it everyday. If you don't have someone to share it with, I would splurge to get it for myself honestly. I splurged and got the Oiji bowl for my third course and it was extremely fresh and worth the splurge, but could depend on market price. My absolute favorite thing though was the Goguma (sweet potato) Bingsu. BEST BINGSU IVE EVER HAD. I literally dream about this bingsu. Even though we had made a reservation, we had to wait a little bit before being seated. I didn't mind the wait because it was short, but it was kind of awkward just standing there and waiting.
Be the first to ReplyOiji Mi is exceptional, offering a 5 course prix-fixe menu
Oiji Mi is exceptional, offering a 5 course prix-fixe menu it stands as one of the best fine dining spots in the city. Oiji Mi focuses on Korean dishes which can also be ordered a la carte at the bar area. On our most recent visit we had; Spotted Prawn, Beef Tartare, & Pumpkin Gyeran-Jjim - the first course is 3 small bites, each one was delicious with the spotted prawn being the favorite. BBQ Calamari - second course was delicious, calamari was tender with the perfect amount of bbq flavor. On previous visits we've had both the Stripped Jack Hwe and Bo Ssam For 2 both of which are excellent. Chili Lobster Ramyun - for the third course was one of our favorite menu items the Lobster Ramyun. You can't go wrong ordering this, the noodles are delicious and they give you a nice portion of lobster on top. Wagyu - the fourth course was excellent. The wagyu was cooked a perfect medium rare, tender, and full of flavor. It was accompanied by a heirloom tomato salad and mul naengmyun (these are noodles in a cold broth) both were very good. Chapssal Donuts - the fifth course was dessert. The chapssal donuts which are filled with gruyรจre and raclette cheese and topped with cream fraiche were great. Only complaint is I wish the portion was bigger. Service is phenomenal and exactly what you would expect from a Michelin Star establishment. If you're looking for a special meal Oiji Mi is the place.

Oiji Mi has been on my list since it opened and me and my wife finally were able to scratch it off our list. Thank God it is not just a hype beast and actually lived up to the expectations, however the one thing that kept this from being an absolute knock out was the portions of the dishes. Come here for a great date night, and maybe scope out the area to grab a slice afterwards. Ambiance I thought the restaurant was decorated very well, nothing over the top, but you won't have an issue finding an Instagram worth picture here. Service The waiter really was a star for us at dinner. He took the time to explain the dishes very well, gave really great recommendations, and was super attentive throughout the service. Cocktails The house cocktails here were on the sweeter side for me, however my wife loves sweet drinks so she really enjoyed them. I ordered one, then stuck to my trusty Monkey 47 dry martini the rest of the night. Food Steak Tartare ($24) Remember I said the portions were small? Well imagine our surprise when we saw that unlike other restaurants were you get somewhat of a decent rounded mound of steak tartare on a dish, we were instead served a dollop of tartare on what seemed like two oyster crackers. I really need to start including pictures for these reviews, because this was REALLY small. That being said, the flavors were on point. Oyster Bo Ssam ($42) *Must Order* Bo Ssam is a dish me and my wife were unfamiliar with, but this was so delicious. The combination of the raw oysters with the warm pork wrapped in lettuce worked amazingly well. This is a build your own lettuce wrap situation so you could eat the oysters separately and just use the lettuce wraps for the pork and toppings it comes with, but I would recommend combining them. Chili Crab ($26) This was a cold noodle dish, again, you will never complain about the flavors of any of the dishes here. The sauce was delicious, and the noodle texture was fantastic. Duck ($45) Flavorful, well cooked, but again the portionssss. Very small piece of duck for the price in my opinion. Sea Bass ($42) The fish was delicious with a great texture, it was flaky and the skin was perfectly crisp. It came with crispy rice and some broth which were delicious as well and worked great with the fish. Scallops were also included here, this is a flavor and texture bomb. Gruyere Donuts ($14) *Must Get* Do not leave here without getting this...and I usually do not get dessert at restaurants. The donut itself had a mochi like texture and the saltiness from the cheese combined with the almost caramel like honey was flipping delicious. Top that with ice cream and you have yourself a heavy hitting dessert.
Be the first to ReplyOiji Mi was a cute place with good food.
We were here to celebrate our anniversary and can say overall it's a god experience. Worth trying - It's always interesting to see how they spin Korean food and here they take the modern approach. I'll say it wasn't 100% for me personally but I could appreciate the unique flavors. Service was good though expected a bit more engagement through the courses. But overall - good experience.
Be the first to ReplyThe dining room is beautiful and is great for a date.
I recommend requesting a booth to be even more cozy. The lounge area looked spacious and relaxed, it is also a la carte. I might try this next time time. We sat in the main dining room, which only offers the prix-fixe menu. It is 5 courses, including dessert. The plates were well paced. The first course included a trifecta of spotted prawn, beef tatare and pumpkin soup with caviar. All of these were delicious. Second course, I had the striped jack, which was very fresh, no regrets, but definitely interested in the other options next time. The oiji bowl was very flavorful. At first I didn't want to get this because I thought it would be very similar to sushi at Japanese/omakase restaurants, also there was a $35 supplemental. However, I am a sucker for uni and sweet shrimp. I am glad I got it, because I didn't realize there was seaweed rice underneath. Mixing everything together as recommended had the best umami bomb. By the fourth course I was bursting, but I managed to finish my seabass which was delectable, but the scallops actually were the stars of the show. I tried the makegolli ice cream and the donuts. I liked the donuts more because they were more interesting. Definitely will return.
Be the first to Replyfor a michelin star restaurant, the food was alright and
for a michelin star restaurant, the food was alright and the service was not michelin star worthy. first, the waiter was so absent in the beginning that we were sitting there forever to order that i had to wave them down and ask for a waiter to be attentive. i usually like to give waiters a chance because i understand how busy they are and if they are bringing out other tables dishes but it came to the point where we were ignored the waiter that was not assigned to our table had to take our order. since then, there were multiple waiters who attended to our table after noting this. it turned out better but then they forgot to give us the wagyu supplement and instead introduced dessert. i then reminded them of the supplement. i think we had like 6 different waiters after that, and it did get better. but overall the service was pretty absent and not friendly. at least they apologized which i appreciate. for the food, it was quite decent but would say the portions are small. the tasting menu is a very safe choice and is not adventurous so i would recommend for those who are not as comfortable with different unique flavor pairings. i enjoyed the little bites in the beginning, and it was smart for the order they asked to eat because of how the flavors would be perceived in our mouths. the striped jack was a bit fishy but was super refreshing. the grapes added a nice refreshing crunch to the dish. the lobster ramyun was my favorite - a spicy dish with cold al dente ramen noodles and lobster pieces. this was executed well wagyu samhap supplement - definitely a unique citrusy soy flavor with the wagyu pieces. this was a good add on the glabi and dry aged duck were good quality but nothing too mindblowing. the goguma bingsoo tasted like brown sugar shaved ice and i really enjoyed how refreshing it was. the chapssal donuts were unique with cheesy and vanilla ice cream flavor but it was pretty good. overall, i would have liked the experience better if the service was more attentive
Be the first to ReplyHas earned its right to be Michelin Star.
Recommend doing the pre fix versus the tasting menu.

Loved Oiji in east village, so we were happy to celebrate our two year anniversary at their new joint. My husband messed up our reservations, but they kindly accommodated us and sat us at the bar. We also found out we were expecting around this time, so while I would house down all the raw items - I was a bit more careful. I will be making my way back here when we have our little one! Lovely dinner spot!
Be the first to ReplyService is about delivering pleasure to customers.
This place does not fit that criterion. I am writing this review, the first one I have ever written in my entire life, to express my dissatisfaction with my experience at your dining establishment. Before going, I had reserved a table, including my client and her toddler daughter.Unfortunately, her daughter was crying and was difficult to handle during our visit, like most toddlers, which I understand can be disruptive for other diners. However, the server's attitude and service were far below what we expected, worsening the situation.Upon arriving at our table, we ordered sparkling water before we were ready to order. From then on, the server's expression was continuously unpleasant, and she seemed unhappy serving us. I regret not asking for her name, as she was our assigned server. When we were ready to order, I had difficulty with my wine order, and the server seemed dismissive and rude when I tried to explain. I was pointing to the menu with my finger, and rather than trying to understand my request, she asked, "What is this?" in an impolite tone. If I were the server, I would have said, "Okay, let me see," and been helpful to the customer. The server we had should have been more accommodating and professional in her response. After we had ordered the drinks, we were about to order our food, but the server had already left and did not come back to the table for another 15 minutes. After the 15-minute wait, we ordered 2 of the tasting menu; however, as a child was with us, my client had also asked if it was possible to get anything a la carte. This question was asked out of pure curiosity but was met with negativity and rudeness by the server. We already knew that this service needed to be more satisfactory.Again as we were trying to order, my client's daughter crying persisted, and we had to ask for help from another server passing by. The server we were initially assigned did not make any effort to come back to check on us, and we had to ask for assistance from different servers multiple times. While the food itself was fine, the service was inferior. Our server could have been more attentive, and we felt like we were being ignored throughout the meal. We felt so uncomfortable that we rushed through the 3rd and 4th courses to finish as quickly as possible and leave the restaurant. This is not all. We even ran into trouble at the end of our meal when we received the check. We noticed the bill was for four tasting menus when our table only ordered two. The lack of attention to detail in the billing was alarming, and no apology was offered for the mistake.I am not writing this review to complain or criticize unnecessarily. As this restaurant is a representative Korean cuisine fine dining restaurant in New York, improving your service quality and providing a better customer experience is essential. I hope this review helps you make the necessary changes and improve your service for future diners. If you are looking for good service along with good food, then this is not the place!

The prix fixe menu was incredible and the cocktails were great too. Highly recommend.

Was able to make a same day reservation for this place on a Friday night, first time trying a Michelin starred Korean restaurant. We ordered the 5 course tasting menu, the bosamm platter was amazing, never had oysters along with pork belly before but it was a great combination for the bossam! The first course with the scallops, beef tartare, and pumpkin soup were also very delicious as well! Was really happy to have tried this place, would definitely come back here again!

The famous oiji bowl with uni & sweet shrimp was def a highlight! the savory + sweet combo with seaweed rice was so flavorful and warm. And the oysters were the FRESHEST i've had in years! The wagyu reminded me of galbi-jjim and felt like home. The chilled lobster ramen was such a creative take on ramen and had the most delish egg volk sauce. And the honey persimmon yogurt milk bingsoo was a refreshing way to end the meal!
Be the first to ReplyDrinks, first course, and second course was good.
Then everything went downhill. The waiter gave a stank face when I said I did not want another bottle of sparkling water. I get that their main goal is to up sale but I was genuinely debating if I wanted another bottle of sparkling water or a bottle still water. The soup tasted stale and sour. My partner took a couple spoonfuls of the soup and stopped eating. The waiter never bothered to ask if something was wrong. Instead he said " you guys must be too full" and took away the dish. I was beyond speechless to evens say anything. My wagyu kalbi came very thin and the outside layering tasted burnt. While all the photos on yelp depicted a thick cut of meat cooked medium/ medium rare. The waiter never bothered to ask how I liked my meat cooked to start. We spent about $550 with tip and that is not a cheap price. That night, my partner and I took turns using the bathroom. Will not be returning.
Be the first to ReplyAverage Korean food, served in small (but numerous)
Average Korean food, served in small (but numerous) portions. More than a little surprised it got a Michelin star; pretty much every course did not seem to be amazing or worth the exorbitant price. The three appetizers were alright; beef tartare scallop was great, not a big fan of the pumpkin soup, however. The Bo SSamm was fun for a bit, until you realize you could have a much richer, flavorful, and economical alternative at any of the numerous KBBQ joints in town, especially since the pork belly itself did not seem to be marinated or flavored in any way.The Lobster Ramyun was decent, but while eating it you can't help but think "wait... this is just something a college student with some sudden money and a date to flex on could make". The garlicky sauce was interesting, but not what I expected a Michelin starred restaraunt to make. The Wagyu was pretty decent, but the sauce completely overpowers any sort of binchotan smoking they were trying to go for. And, again, you just think that you could've done a decent imitation at a KBBQ spot. The mashed potatoes were good, but clearly half butter. The Chappsal donuts were very good, and I loved the pairing of sweet ice cream and salty/savory cheeses in the donuts. The drinks were average for a decent bar in NYC taste wise. Definitely overpriced and quite small. The service was excellent. Waitstaff clearly knows what's up.This place is very flashy and very showy, yet the actual food is just... average. Sure, the plating is very pretty, but the actual taste and value isn't good enough to recommend to someone that actually wants good Korean food. It _is_ good if you want to take cute pictures and have the weighty clout of eating at a Michelin starred restaurant, though.

My friend had been to the original restaurant (Oiji) and highly recommended it, so it was one of my must-go's while in NYC and it did not disappoint.Overall, I really enjoyed the 5-course menu, with my favorites being the duck, the spicy lobster ramyun, the striped jack, and the bossam. We also got quite a few supplements, including the third course wagyu, the bossam for the second course in addition to the striped jack (the bossam is supposed to be for 2 people, so you need to pay an additional fee if you want another option), and the oiji bowl. I would highly, highly recommend getting the bossam, as it's extremely unique, but everything else I would just leave to your own preferences -- you can't really go wrong here! All that being said though, I did feel like the oiji bowl and the bossam were the most creative things on the menu. Many of the other dishes felt a bit less original, as I've seen very similar or the same dishes at other restaurants in this genre. Those were the two dishes that I felt truly stood apart from other places!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing meal from start to finish with attentive service
Amazing meal from start to finish with attentive service like no other. Definitely a Michelin worthy restaurant. The first course and Uni bowl were my absolute favorite but there was not a single bad dish. Talking about service- My friend got bumped at the table by a server or staff member bc where we were seated was a very high traffic area.. to apologize the staff sent over a caviar dish as a mea culpa. Amazing! The only tiny complaint was I felt drinks were very overpriced and too much ice in cocktails not enough alcohol. Would I come back? Over and over again, yes!

Had a lovely dinner here! It's nice to celebrate Korean chefs experimenting with traditional flavors, and I broke my usual dietary restrictions to sample more of Oiji's menu.My favorite was the abalone jook -- something I could see getting again if I stopped in alone. Comforting, savory, distinct while still homey. I'd be so happy if someone brought this to me whenever I felt under the weather. I thought I would love the chapssal donuts, but ended up wishing for less cheese/ice cream flavor. The melted cheese competes with the texture of the chapssal.Service staff were all sweet and professional, though it was hard to hear the ingredients presented with each dish, and somewhat overwhelming to be visited by so many different people throughout the evening. I could have done without being shown the way to the bathroom several times by staff who indicated I should follow them at a rapid clip through the dining room. If you sit in the lounge, know that some groups at the bar will be standing behind their seats, and definitely treating it like a bar.Would love to visit again in a more casual way! Especially if they introduced seasonal items or more vegetable-based dishes.

Been here twice at the old location in the East village and before they earned a Michelin star (I believe). Food was amazing both times. The oiji bowl is a show stopper, I could eat three of those. Enjoyed all of the dishes with the exception of the scallop dish, not a fan of the cucumber flavor. I recently found out they moved locations and have a chefs tasting menu. Will definitely need to try and update my review!
Be the first to Replycustomer service is top notch, plenty of staff on deck.
when dishes were delivered, more than one came to the table and ensured everything was going wellvery cute dinnerwarefood was near perfect, I would've skipped the oiji bowl and got the kalbi insteadlast point: DON'T SLEEP ON THE CHAPSSAL DONUTS, TRUST. I wish my gf and I doubled up on them
Be the first to ReplyGreat ambience, amazing service, top notch drinks.
The food though, just very well thought out and executed. Flavors are rich and Korean ingredients and influence subtle.Worth the money! Have a feeling it's going to earn a Michelin star at some point.
Be the first to ReplyYou know this is popular not only when you see posts on
You know this is popular not only when you see posts on social media influencers you follow but when you actually see your friends posting this place on social media. The price recently went up from $125 to $135 for a 5 course meal. The reservations were pretty easy to book on RESY but the place actually looked full. The interior looked very modern and the food was all beautifully presented. Service here was exceptional from beginning to end. For the first course, you get all three options: oyster, beef tartare and fois gras which they suggest you eat in that order starting with the oyster. For the second course, we picked bossam for 2. Very filling and the combination of all the ingredients oyster, sides and pork belly wrapped in the cabbage was delicious. For the third choice, we picked the Oiji bowl ($20 supplement)which was raw shrimp, sous vide egg yolk, uni over seasoned rice. Mix it together. This was very fresh and tasted like the sea. For the fourth course we picked the sea bass which was served with fried calamari, semi cooked squid and scallop, clams with a truffle seafood broth. The broth was delicious-everything was delicious but we found the squid a little off and not too fresh. We also picked the wagyu galbi served with carrots, cauliflower over a mash potato purรฉe. This was very well prepared. For the final course we picked the bingsu, so refreshing. As suggested we had the ice part drenched in condensed milk first and added the strawberries to it afterward. So yummy. We also ordered the chocolate mousse with passion fruit ice cream.
Be the first to ReplyI really enjoyed this new korean-american fusiony spot.
5 course prix-fixe for $135 was pretty good value. We had a group so basically tried all the dishes available. Standouts include: tartare, striped jack, kong guksu, bass, bingsu. Atmosphere was very modern/classy, great looking front bar in the lounge section. Open style kitchen made you feel more connected to the chefs/cooks. Cocktails were a little hit/miss. It's a shiny new spot worth visiting now before word gets out, 3rd date appropriate, small group to share all the options great strategy. Eating here was an experience, not just another meal.Food: 9/10Value: 8/10Service: 8/10Vibe: 9/10
