Worth a visit Best 50 Restaurants Asia
Excellent dinner at Ode by Chef Yusuke san, most dishes were well executed in terms of food temperature and texture with unique and clean flavour profile. I had a warm welcome and lovely conversation with Yusuke san, I will definitely return to this restaurant when I come back to Tokyo again. 14/Jan dinner service at Ode.

Came here to celebrate my birthday. Nice, cosy ambience with a open kitchen concept but most of the food prep is done behind the grey doors. Overall grey is the restaurant theme. Restaurant is not handicap accessible or if you have challenge walking up a flight of stairs. Overall lovely and value dinner and some staff speak perfect English to comment on the food. The food prep n presentation is excellent and unique. Great tasting ingredients depending on the seasons, we had sardine n chicken as our main. The pastry chef did a marvelous offering of her desserts. Highly recommended for a fine dining experience if you here in Tokyo for work or holidays.

This is one of our favorite restaurant in Tokyo. Whenever we visit Tokyo, we stop by.
The small restaurant ensures the quality of ingredients, services and dishes. I normally do not drink wine while I am in Tokyo (since I live in Europe where is great environment for wine lovers. Japan is still under development when it comes to wine) however, I drink wine in this restaurant.
We visited during the lunch time with the family reserving a half private room for 4 of us. We had a quiet private time there and enjoyed the quality of 9 course meal.
Each dish was like an art and it inspired me for the creativities!
I recommend there if you are interested in French cuisine with Japanese art. :-)
Excellent and accessible cooking
Visited twice - once for lunch and once for dinner. Innovative (and more importantly tasty) dishes with an excellent and well-priced wine pairing. The signature Grey dish is terrific.

We had set dinner menu. Only 4 others in the restaurant. Large service staff awaiting us. Chef greeted us personally. Amazing taste and creation of food, similar to Heston Blumenthal level of creativity.

Had a sublime lunch at Ode.
We were seated at the counter (they have a private room for 4 also).
The chef personally greeting every guest at the start of the meal ( in addition to the end - which is customary)
Each dish was a work of art. Almost looking too good to eat. And delicious!!
The service was spot on, enhancing the experience.
They have a well priced and perfectly matched wine (and sake/liqueur) pairing. And also a non-alcoholic pairing.
The Michelin star well deserved. Perhaps on his way to a second!
Must try latest Michelin restaurant
The restaurant is in a nice residential area, the restaurant style is minimalist yet elegant, I can tell Chef Namai loves grey, the restaurant tone is grey and one of the dish’s name is ‘grey’ too. Great service, everyone is friendly and some of them can speak pretty good English. I enjoyed every dishes especially ‘grey’, it tastes different levels. I’ll definitely go back to Ode!

We had a very disappointing but expensive evening at Ode. One member of our party couldn't come due to food poisoning so we had to pay for three dinners for only two eaters, not that that we were served any of the third person's food or the glass of champagne we had pre-ordered and bought. While the food was good, the service was terrible. There was about an hour wait at one point between courses and then three courses were served in 10 minutes. Some of our fellow diners left without waiting for the remaining courses. I had to repeatedly ask for water even though the servers weren't busy. We ordered two glasses of wine at full price but were given a tiny tasting pour. Bottles were not available. I would not recommend this restaurant for anyone who does not speak Japanese.

Sleek interiors with a wide counter and two private dining rooms. We had the tasting lunch menu which lasted 2.5 hours comprising of 8 courses in total. Chef Yusuke Namai might want to consider reducing it to 6 in the future. Every dish was beautifully plated creating a visual impact from start to finish. A monochromatic presentation mostly which made it interesting and different. There was a certain flow and feel to every dish which was presented this way. I was pleasantly surprised by the unpretentious atmosphere - everyone was friendly and welcoming. Definitely go for the wine and sakè pairing. My favourite was the aged sakè - Afruge! Paired with our dessert, this was delicious. The playlist was interesting too, light rock music in the background gave it that extra edge. All in all it was a wonderful experience - well worth the 2.5 hours spent. I will be back to sample the new offerings!
