Ocean Prime Boston - Lunch experience. Simply FANTASTIC!
Leonard (Leo). What a guy! Superb service from start to finish. A credit to Ocean Prime and the entire hospitality industry. I visited with my brother prior to heading to the airport. We had a couple of hours here and it was an excellent end to my week in MA. Will be sure to visit again when I next return to Boston.
Be the first to ReplyAn unbeatable experience
Fine and exquisite food, elegant and very pleasant place to share with your partner, family or friends. There I ate the best Kobe beef I have ever tasted. The prices are quite high but it is worth it for the quality of the food.
Be the first to ReplyHighly recommended - great spot
Visited Ocean Prime twice over marathon weekend. The first time was so good that when our flight out after the race was delayed we decided to pop back for a second visit, which was even better than our first! If you are looking for a vibrant atmosphere coupled with great food and service in central Boston then this is for you. The menu is pretty wide ranging - they have amazing sushi but also more typical โAmericanโ dishes. Great wine list as well. As for deserts then the 10 tier carrot cake is a thing of majesty. Give it a try!! Highly recommended
Be the first to ReplySkip this place if you enjoy fine dining!
This is not a restaurant for foodies. It is upscale comfort food in a very trendy spot. You will pay a hefty price for mediocre food.
Be the first to ReplyGreat location and food
We enjoyed the food served and convenient location close to the water. Everything was very tasty, but quite expensive.
Be the first to ReplyGreat place for friends or couple
I went out with my friends and chose Ocean Prime since I've never been there. Upon arrival and being seated promptly, our waiter came over and took our drink order and appetizer. Our deinks were delicious. I loved my black orchid drink. The oysters were delicious, the calamari was to die for, and the surf and turf was not good. Some of our meals were delicious. We had a cowboy steak au poivre, the jalapeรฑos and potato au gratin, and some kind of sweet corn (forgot the name). All were very delicious. However, the other dishes: the scallop with risotto, the fish and risotto were not a favorite. The risotto was blend and the do over salty, the chef couldn't get it right. He also didn't get the lamb right either. It was salty. I came in expecting so much more since I've heard so much about it. It was my first time there and the price didn't match the dishes. I'm not quite sure I would go back.

Simply awesome restaurant with yummy food and great hospitality from reservation to dining to leaving with a smile on your face. Thank You Alejandro for being a great honest waiter. He helped us pick from menu and everything was as he described. :)
Be the first to ReplyGood food, great service. Very expensive
Food was delicious but portions and service was impeccable of apps were small and overall VERY pricey. Great place to celebrate a special occasion but over most people's budget for a regular meal out. The surf and turf app consisted of a tiny piece of short rib, 2 scallops and a small portion of mashed potato for $27. Salads were ok for sharing.
Be the first to ReplyDecadent Night Out
The service is impeccable and the food is cooked to perfection. Every single thing we ate was delicious. The bread, salad, soup, steaks, dessert. Their cocktails are creative and delicious as well. The only thing I was surprised at was the volume level - we found it a little hard to visit because it was so loud in there. But I would absolutely return.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect for special occasions
Loved this place! The food was amazing - we had steak and lobster, the staff were friendly and attentive. Itโs expensive but worth it for a special occasion. You need to book though - it was full (a good sign)
Be the first to ReplyBig Crowds and Good Food in Seaport
We had a chance to visit Ocean Prime during our recent stay in the Boston Seaport. Very good food and excellent service were big pluses for us. Negatives were a very young and nosiy crowd inside. And the restaurant is right on the main drag of the Seaport. So if you want a place with lots of energy and good food, an excellent choice. But maybe not for a romatic dinner.
Be the first to ReplyHard Not to Like This Restaurant
This is a lively and popular restaurant in the seaport area. Service is friendly, informative and attentive. The food is quite good. Standouts were the lamb and the scallops. The wedge salad and beets were good too. The ten layer carrot cake was enough for five people. Wine list is decent as are the signature cocktails.

Just an amazing place with a great atmosphere and ambience. Particular shout out to Christina who served us and made our last night in Boston so memorable - thank you x
Be the first to ReplyFine Lunch Choice
This is an upscale restaurant in the Seaport. The setting is nice, the food is very good and so too is the service. The menu is varied and Ocean Prime ought to be able to accommodate most tastes.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food and fantastic service
My adult son is a picky restaurant goer and we both walked out of this place with a smile on our faces. We had a reservation and still had to wait a bit at the bar. And it was with it! The seafood was excellent, portions were of a good size, and desert โ the carrot cake โ was fantastic. We also really liked the person who served us. He was helpful, friendly and efficient. It is now my favorite place in this part of Boston.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful Experience
This is a well-designed dining experience. The food is awesome. The staff is exceptional. And the full experience simply works! Example: the front room is noisy and high energy a young personโs spot; moving through the venue it be comes quieter and more intimate. Well done Ocean Prime!
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, disappointing service
Good to great food, but the service was disappointing. They sat us 40 minutes after our reservation and claimed they would send the manager over right away (which never happened). The server did not come by the table very often, seems like he had too many tables. Expected more of a personal service for spending over a grand on dinner
Be the first to ReplyWonderful business dinner - outstanding in every way (although I did not pay!)
10 of us came for dinner. We shared starters; then I had the scallops and 10-layer carrot cake. We also had a range of red wines (which thank god I was not paying for!). The restaurant is really well put together and an excellent ambiance. Our server dealt with the large table and noise well. Of the starters we shared I thought the crab cake was the stand-out - one of the best have ever tasted; really light and tasty. My scallops were excellent. The 10 layer carrot cake was one of the nicest carrot cakes I have ever had - and was so tall that it could be seen across the restaurant. Ocean Prime deserves it's placing at the top of Boston restaurants - I hope the rest of our trip is like this.
Be the first to ReplyOverall experience ruined
Overall our food experience was great - the entirety of the dining experience was good - service was good- however the checkout experience was humiliating - we used our credit card and it was processed on the table - we got a receipt of our chafes going through - however as we were exiting our table area, we were confronted by 2 managers who alleged that we did not pay our bill as their system was not showing payment - i challenged the. On their assertion by indicating that I had a receipt from their system as well as a text from my credit card company with the confirmation of the charge - they did not believe their receipt assuming that I had somehow doctored that - they did not let the issue go- and all this because of the color of my skin - no other reason at all - as they could not fathom that a person of color could spend that amount of money for dinner - I offered them other credit cards on a condition they write me note so that they donโt duplicate a change - they refused - bcos they knew what they were up to- overall - be careful at this place - I would not want you to miss the food experience but if it ends like that way it ended for me - the experience will be sour - my 27 wedding anniversary experience was totally ruined ,

Really 4 1/2 but TA doesn't allow halves. Visited on a saturday night with my wife in advance of Bruins Home opener to celebrate our anniversary. So got to restaurant at 4pm just as it was opening. Got 2 seats at bar (as is our want). Within 35 minutes bar was full. By 5;45pm as we were leaving restaurant was full and there were people waiting for tables and bar seats. Caveat, this is upscale high priced restaurant so buyer beware. Service at bar was excellent. they have 3 bartenders for the 30 or so bar seats and the service bar for the restaurant. never waited for anything but they were also not intrusive even though they shared duties waiting on us. Had a few glasses of red wine for $24/9oz pour. Extensive wine list, only complaint is they didn't really have any moderately priced bottles. Cheapest full bodied red we saw was around $85. FYI we did not receive nor offered bread at the bar. Everyone who sat at the bar got popcorn. We did notice the tables around the bar had bread. We didn't want any nor can I imagine we would have been denied it if we asked, just an FYI, 1/2 dozen Duxbury oysters $29. Very clean, very fresh shucked off the shell perfectly. We both got the 8oz fillet $56. i ordered Rare+ with Truffle Butter, wife ordered medium rare with Bleu cheese crust. My filet cooked exactly as i wanted. My wife's could have been done a touch more but nothing worth sending back for a couple more minutes on the grille. Ordered sides (a la carte) of Brussels sprouts $18 and a Twice Baked potato $16. One side for the 2 of us would have been more than enough but i really wanted to try the Twice Baked potato. Sprouts were good, twice baked was spectacular and huge. Yes as others have written the bar area, and the tables in bar area, can get noisy with conversation. But that to me is customary when sitting in a bar area. Dining room which is separated by a pretty thick wall seemed much quieter if that is your preference. Didn't experience any music as we left early to catch the game. Definitely not a once a week destinations unless you are rich and famous but a really good choice for a special occasion. would not hesitate to return in the future.
Be the first to ReplyEat In, takeout or delivery
We were staying at a nearby hotel so chose to have delivery by Door Dash. Food arrived still hot. Portions were HUGE. Unfortunately they forgot my swordfish so I can't say how that was but we placed a very large order and had no complaints on the food that did arrive.

We took my dad here while he was visiting from out of town, and we all had a lovely meal. We decided to sit outside, as the inside was rather noisy, and were all happy with this decision. They have plenty of space heaters, as well as individual cool table lamps so we could read our menus. We shared the goat cheese ravioli, the vegetable roll, the snapper, the sea bass, and the creme brulee, and everything was super delicious! We especially really liked the goat cheese ravioli, and my husband doesn't normally like goat cheese. Our waitress was attentive and friendly, and checked in on us regularly (but not obnoxiously so). Valet parking was $27, a fairly reasonable price given this restaurant's location so close to the seaport. This restaurant is in a vibrant part of the city, with many people coming and going.
Be the first to ReplyWonโt return in a hurry
Had a meal there last Thursday evening. Sat in an oversized booth (there were 3 of us) in a v noisy restaurant. Cocktails and food were good, the rest however was v disappointingโฆ a robotic waitress who appeared every 15 mins or so to top up our water glasses without so much as a โhelloโ or a โwould you like some water?โ; what seemed like a head waiter (a tall big man) with a personality like my goldfish- totally deadpan, un charismatic and obviously in a hurry; A machine which was dumped on our table (no explanation given, but presumably to pay) before we had even finished our desserts; and no option (that I could see at least) for gratuities less than 20% (and believe me I would have left nothing). We had some wonderful meals in Boston including a fabulous one at Uni but this left us all with a bad taste. Disappointing to say the least!
