Great ambiance with an almost chain food feel.
Try the soup dumplings and the Dan Dan noodles - very good albeit they've put their own spin on these. The spicy, Chinese mustard flavored noodles always deliver comfort food goodness very unique to this restaurant. Give it a try!

Decided to try this place while on a business trip in the area. The restaurant is beautiful with traditional decor and lots of beautiful wood. I definitely was hungry because I ordered way too much food but it was so good! Spicy wonton- sauce was a tad salty but still good with less sauce Shumai- plump shrimp, filled with broth and yummy dipping sauce Shrimp fried rice- good size shrimp that they weren't stingy with. Great seasoning! Green beans- extra peppery but so good. Had a god crunch! Bok choy and mushrooms- earthy with great flavor General Tso's- large pieces of chicken, crispy with a tangy sauce. Service was decent. Servers were nice but never came back to check so I had to consistently flag them down. I will definitely come back!
Be the first to ReplyWe've eaten at O'Mandarin many many times.
Why? Because it is the only really good Sichuan restaurant anywhere in Westchester/western Fairfield counties. We liked it better before it was "discovered" when there were fewer people and less expensive. But the food hasn't changed. Many standout dishes but our family favorites are the Sichuan wontons, pork shoulder, Chunking chili chicken.

I ordered the wild mushrooms hot appetizer and the fish appetizer and ma pi tofu with brown rice. The fish had too much flour. The gravy of the ma po tofu also has too much flour.
Be the first to ReplyThis is not your basic Chinese restaurant.
Everything is so fresh and the menu very diverse. Things I've never seen at other Chinese restaurants. The young wait staff are the sweetest, and give descriptions of the food if you want. Best Chinese food in Westchester!

After having eaten here for several years, I now have mixed reviews of the place. Stopped in last night for a date night, and ordered scallion pancake, soup dumplings and Sichuan Wonton, then the Sichuan Hot Pot to share. Other than the wontons being luke warm, the apps were fine and as expected. But the hot pot, oh man. There was so much salt that it was simply inedible. We took it home and I tried to desalinize it with potatoes, to no avail. Previous experiences with mains (porkbelly, thousand year tofu and Gen Tso come to mind) were mostly positive (say, 4/5), but stay away from the Sichuan Pepper entree as it suffers from the same salt problem. Ambiance is nice, staff are pleasant. Prices are a bit high, and that makes it all the more frustrating when they ruin a dish with so much salt. (On saltiness, please note, this is not an exaggeration - the amount of salt actually dries your mouth, numbs your tongue and leaves an odd metallic aftertaste.)

The food is not authentic szechuan cuisine! Throwing a bunch of peppercorns and loading up on the dark soy! The food was inedible...didn't even bother to take it home. Just waste of $...I'll be heading to Flushing, Queens for authentic Chinese food.
Be the first to ReplyOmandarin is a staple and we stopped by on Valentine's Day.
There was a long wait but definitely well worth it. We usually order to go but wanted to sit down to celebrate. We try to order something different every time we go because they have such a big menu. I also recommend trying the duck dishes which are also super good.
Be the first to ReplyWe have eaten here at least a dozen times.
However, this time the waiter was overbearing. We always ordered the Basil Chicken not spicy. WE HAVE NEVER BEEN ASKED THE FOLLOWING BY THE WAITER: how much peppercorn and red pepper we wanted. We repeated not spicy. Once again the waiter said if you eliminate the peppercorn and red pepper it will change the taste and it will be bland. We have ordered the Basil Chicken not spicy dozens of times before and it always came out fine. He said the cooks in the kitchen don't speak English and wouldn't understand not spicy. The second dish we ordered was vegetable Chao Mein. WHERE WERE THE VEGETABLES ? ABSOLUTELY NONE!!! The appetizer was brought out with the main meal. We told the waiter to take the meal back and let us finish the appetizer first. Overall, the meal was okay, not as good as in prior visits.
Be the first to ReplyBest Chinese food I've had in Westchester.
Beautiful space great service and I will most definitely be going back.
Be the first to ReplyDifferent than 'usual' Chinese Menus.
Nicely designed interior and food is fresh, well prepared but diners need to have a sophisticated pallet, for some of the menu entrees. Not an egg roll, wonton soup Chinese cuisine menu, which is a refreshing alternative to other local restaurants.
Be the first to ReplyMy second visit here pleasantly surprised me.
I was impressed by Peking duck. It was very delicious. You should definite get it if you like Peking duck. The other food I got was great too. Service was great. I'd definitely come back.
Be the first to ReplyWe would frequent this rest.
Quite often. I took a friend out to celebrate our Birthdays, what a surprise, the food was cold, the waiter continued to pass us by. We waited quite some time to get our food. WASTE OF FOOD & MONEY..Will not go there again..

This is a great spot for a family, a date, or even just a meal by yourself. The ambience is classy and has great Decour. We ordered the hot pot and 1000 layer tofu. The hot pot is a must have! The spice level is just right (keep in mind I am Indian). I highly recommend this place and the service is always great. The food comes out in no time!

really disappointed in our experience here and I cant let it go. I think the way our order was handled by the staff, with no apology after was wrong and ruined our dining experience. There were 4 adukts and 4 kids on chinese new years (I know, I know... the most popular night of the year..) We knew we wanted peking duck as one of our 'main courses' along with some other main entrees to share, and we were going to have some appetizers, dumplings to share, and maybe soups before hand. 4 people in our party have been there previously, and 4 os us had not. As soon as we sat down and the waiter came over we told him 'we are definitely going to want peking ducks'. He informed us the peking ducks take about an hour to an hour and a half- so I said "great- put us in for a whole duck and a half a duck". About 1 minute later (this is not an exaggeration) a runner came to our table and attempted to put down 1 peking duck- we said we were sorry- he must have had the wrong table- we just placed our order, and sent him away. At that point our waiter came over (with a severe attitude- NOT politely) and told us that if we didnt take that duck "who knows when" we would get served, as the kitchen is running behind and they had ducks ready and we should take them. we felt pressured to hurry our meal and take the peking ducks or "who knows" if we would have gotten a duck or when. A second later the duck was served to us, and then our other 1/2 duck was served- (ps. the platters of duck are TINY. and they dont carve and roll the wraps tableside? they put all the condiments on the table and we roll our own?). All 8 of us were done with our ($180 total) duck wraps in about 10 minutes. the waiter came back over and asked "what else can I get for you?" At that point, we were all hemming and hawing- should we get dumplings? soup? go back to apps? we were still very hungry but the whole meal felt backwards - and like we were rushed and pressured. Rudely- noone ever came over to apologize and the entree before app situation wasnt even acknowledged or smoothed over to us. I left there feeling like our waiter (an 'older' guy with long hair) is in the wrong industry. He didnt know how to handle the situation with the kitchen, us as unhappy guests, or the obvious situation- that our sunday night we were looking forward to and fairly pricey meal was turned upsidedown. the food was fine. but save yourself the disaapointment and go to Peking Duck House in NYC- they are a class act of a chinese restaurant!!

I like that there was delicious mushroom dish and my son had chives and steak...prices are high...did not like chrysanthemum tea...but green tea was better...seafood casserole good....
Be the first to ReplyI'm a regular here, and there's a reason why.
The food is spectacular. We came here to celebrate Valentine's Day early and treated ourselves to their Peking Duck. The skin was so crispy and the flesh was so tender. The meat paired with the delicate pancakes is divine. We also got the chicken corn soup and the beef chow mein. They give you a heavy portion of noodles, so worth the price. Think of this place as elevated Chinese takeout.
Be the first to ReplyNot sure if they changed up their cooks but our recent
Not sure if they changed up their cooks but our recent visit was extremely disappointing! They authentic Sichuan taste was no longer there! Everything tasted extremely Americanized...literally P.F Chang's level. The mapo tofu tasted like it was made from one of those microwavable package meals. Fried fish was soggy and everything was lukewarm! Even the rice tasted off. This was def NOT the O Mandarin I fell in love with! :(
Be the first to ReplyNot what I expected.
And some very disgraceful dipping sauce I guess for crab Rangoon?
Be the first to ReplyVery good authentic Chinese food.
Super spicy. Even for me, a red pepper fan, but also really good. I went for lunch one day, and had a lunch special. I went back another day for take out. It's not a very large space, and I understand that there can be a long wait in the evening. It's pricy, but it's also really good and worth the drive from Bronxville to Hartsdale.
Be the first to ReplyPricey Chinese food but good.
Nice ambiance and attentive waiters. Peking duck was excellent.

This place was incredible!! We came here for a casual weeknight dinner, but you can honestly come here for a fancy night out as well. The whole place smelled incredible- as if you walked straight into the kitchen. The service was super fast and all the food was so rich in flavor. The presentation was unique (see the bubble pancakes and the tin foil swan), but most importantly, everything was delicious!! Will definitely be coming back soon.
Be the first to ReplyO Mandarin came very highly recommended by several people.
The grandmas buns dish was definitely my favorite, and my friend had the shrimp lettuce wrap which was excellent. We both ordered Mongolian beef which was highly recommended to us. We both found it extremely salty but the staff was very gracious and offered to replace it, which they did. My appetizer was huge and I have a small appetite so I asked our server to wrap it and I specifically asked for the sauce to be included but it was not. I will try the restaurant again, but for the amount of money we spent I would have expected more. We both realize that the overly salty food is certainly not the servers fault and we left a 25% tip because we truly appreciated the staff going out of their way for us.Everything was very tasty and we enjoyed our evening, but if you are watching your salt intake you might want to make your server aware of that. Overall a good experience.
Be the first to ReplyDon't.
ย Just don't. ย Twice I have ordered from here and twice my orders were not right. ย Not only were they not right, but when I called on the secong time to say that it was the second time my order was wrong, I was told that I probably shouldn't bother ordering from them again.
