An Extraordinary Lunch
We 2 elderly couples dined here for lunch. We ordered tea, spring rolls, and dumpling soup, The entrees included Beef Brisket & Tomato, Scallion Pepper Shrimp and Sweet Pea Shrimp. We also had the Pumpkin Cake. Everything, and I mean everything โฆ was GREAT! Great service, too.

We have been going to O Mandarin for quite a few years. We love good wine and so they allowed us to bring our bottle for $20.00 corking fee. Last night, we brought our wine, had a decent dinner, too much salt, we asked them not to put too much. When my husband asked for the check, we were charged $40.00 for the corking fee. It would have been nice if they told us at the beginning when we were seated, that they raised their prices. Our whole meal didn't cost that much. We are very disappointed and for that very reason, we will not be returning. We have been to many expensive restaurants and their corking fee is $25.00. The owner shouldn't treat good customers like that. He is very greedy. GOOD BYE ๐ท

The restaurant has a romantic vybe- lacks asian background. food prices are way overpriced for what you get. food is more salty than average. many chinese food dishes were not present on menu. service was good. main dish was brought out prematurely.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing
Many of my favorite dishes were not available, even they were still listed on the menu, They didnโt even have the most common Young Chow fried rice. Noodles were not pan fried in mandarin style, but covered with soya sauce like those served in cheap take out shops. Service was slow and you had to wait for the assigned waiter for minutes just to get water or tea, even the bus boy was standing right there. Before the pandemic I had been here several times and was happy with their cousins, but now everything had changed and the restaurant has become a shabby place certainly not worth the prices they were charging
Be the first to ReplyO Mandarin = "Oh my goodness the food is so good here" Mandarin!!
I consider myself a Chinese food connoisseur - where I live we have outstanding, award-winning Chinese food that we get regularly from a variety of restaurants. But, we were visiting a friend up here and figured "why not." Boy am I glad we did! This was some of the best Chinese food I have ever had! From the outside, this place looks like a dive - As we first pulled into the parking lot we actually thought it was closed since the overhead sign was dark. Fortunately there was a sign (a tacky, red neon sign) that broadcast "open" so we parked and went inside. It was a Monday night and it was absolutely packed! SERVICE: The service was quick and efficient and our waiter was quite friendly and had helpful suggestions. AMBIENCE: it's a pretty restaurant on the inside; upscale and comfortable. FOOD: we'd had a late lunch so figured we didn't want a big dinner - there were 4 of us: we ordered a variety of appetizers and 1.5 main dishes (I don't count rice as a main dish): we got 2 orders of egg drop soup, chicken lettuce wraps, scallion bubble pancake (2 per order), vegetable spring rolls (3 per order), pineapple fried rice and kang pao chicken. I know - so much for the "we aren't that hungry." And wow - everything - and I mean EVERYTHING - was absolutely delicious! Tasty, hot, fresh...yummmmm!!! This place is worth a special trip and I know that if/when I find myself in this area again, I will 100%, absolutely be coming back here for dinner!!!
Be the first to ReplyGood Feast
My husband and I attended a luncheon feast with my retiree union members. The service was impeccable, if unintelligible. We were given a menu for choice of soup and entree. We had dim sum for ten at the table, but only eight dumplings were available for each dish. I ordered hot and sour soup. It was tasty but lacked roast pork. (I know this because I make it.) My husband ordered wonton soup and got hot and sour soup. There was only one pot of tea available for the table but unlimited water. By the time the entree arrived, diners were full, and the restaurant cheerfully packed up left-overs. The price for an ordinary lunch menu is $15. For our feast, we paid $35 with tax and tip. After awhile, the dumplings all tasted the same. The spring rolls were mostly dough with little vegetable filling. I got a spicy pork entree that was tasty. My husband ordered beef and broccoli, which was heavy on the onions and light on the beef. The quantity of food was very generous. The quality was generally good. I suggest skipping the dim sum and just ordering soup and an entree.

First visit. No lighting outside due to broken sign. The waiter Barney had a very cocky attitude from our selection of food to describing the establishment as โnot a takeout placeโ. Ordered General Tsao Chicken, Chicken and Broccoli, and pork fried rice which seemed to be an annoyance since not on the menu. The Chicken and Broccoli was ICE COLD. When brought to waiters attention was told the dish was probably waiting for rice to be cooked. Unbelievable!! After that the waiter was very rude. Small ribs, cheap on wine. I would never ever step foot in that place again let alone recommend it to anyone. Waiter seemed hyped up on mentioning Michelin Stars! Well my Michelins wont be driving down your road again.

I went on my wife's birthday on a Saturday. I reserved my table in advance for 6 people and when I reached there they put me on a table which was hardly for 4 people, with makeshift folding chairs as regular could not fit. They said that's only table they can give me. Within few minutes they gave bigger round table to a party of 5. I can't think of anything else but bias. Asking for Menu , which they provided to others, head waiter rudely pointed me to bar code on menu. My wife doesn't like to look menu on phone and then only they provided menu. We could not enjoy the meal as there was no place to keep the food on table. Everything kept spilling and we have to send food back as everything they were serving on top of each other without any place to keep. Food was ok. Nothing great. Did not feel like tipping at all still gave them 15% though I never tip below 20%. If it was not my wifeโs birthday, I would no have tipped at all. Waitresses kept disappearing and we have to look for her and tell others to call her.

An absolute nightmare experience. We went and had lunch with some noodles to start. We finished our meal and paid. Then a tall man came to our table and asked if everything was ok we said yes absolutely. He told us the tip wasnโt enough and we should order to takeout in future We advised him to find a different career as we left a 10% tip and tips are NOT mandatory so be happy with what you got People come here to enjoy the food and not get harassed from the staff. We left a TIP so what exactly is your problem
Be the first to ReplyHot noodles with cold chicken
We ordered a Chao Mein, vegetable and tofu clay pot and chengdu fried rice. The Chao mein's noodles were warm and the chicken was cold. The vegetable and tofu clay pot contained more tofu than vegetables and the fried rice was okay. There is nothing special about this place and we were extremely disappointed. The waitress "Abby" had an attitude and was trying to rush us out before we even placed our orders.
Be the first to ReplyI was so excitedโฆ
Many people have told me how good this food was suppose to be so we ordered take out and the whole family was disappointed. I ordered a variety of dishes and there wasnโt one that I could say I loved. Two dishes I ordered just about went straight to the trash. Maybe I got them on a bad night but Iโm not sure I want to bother giving them another chance regardless. My order wasnโt cheap and took over an hour to prepare, which didnโt add to the experience.
Be the first to ReplyGood Food & Service, But Nosey
Sept 2022, from the looks of the outside of the place which is in a strip mall it doesnโt look like the a fancy place. However, when you step I inside decor is very nice with plenty of tables, booths and private rooms. Our server Jennifer was lovely. Here are the PROS and CONS about the place. PROS - Plenty of parking, nice interior, extensive menu, nice wine list, food was good, and the wait time was not long for them to bring out our meals. CONS - Dinner prices are high, Noise level was loud, and the help was constantly coming over to our table looking to pick up our finished plates. Not that it is a bad thing, but we were in the middle of a conversation and you had this guys arm reaching over to grab the empty plate. This to us was very annoying. Now for the review of the food. From the Dim Sum selection we ordered the Soup Dumplings that were steamed with Soy Sauce on the side. These Dumplings were flavorful and a nice size portion of 6. Then we shared the Sweet Pea Prawns that was delicious. The Shrimp was a nice size and plenty of them, plus the sweet peas and Asparagus were fresh. Honestly, this meal was healthy and not salty. Note, for a Friday - Sat Night, you should make reservations since the place was crowded. For the two of us our bill came out to around $50 and with tip $60 with one Beer. All and all, we probably will not come back here because we felt rushed and really couldnโt relax and enjoy our friends.
Be the first to ReplyPrices are up and service is slipping
Arrived on Thursday at 6:30 pm with reservations for five people. Place was fairly busy but we were seated right away. Order was taken for family style meal, including Egg Drop and Hot & Sour soups, cucumber salad, sechuan pickled cabbage, Beef Short Ribs, Tea Smoked Duck, Toothpick Lamb, Chao Mein, Rice Cake Stir Fry and Fried Rice. All dishes were delivered in a timely manner except for the lamb dish, which never came out. Our server finally chased it down and it made it to our table when we were almost finished eating. The food was good and the service was okay, but our server was hard to find when we needed her. Finally, the prices have gone up radically, which will probably keep us away in the future.
Be the first to ReplyBest/Most Authentic in Westchester
Still by far the best and most authentic Chinese food (I lived 5 years in China, and have also visited frequently) weโve tasted in 35 years of living in Westchester, and better than the overwhelming majority in NYC.

My husband and I ate here for dinner this past week. All I can say is how absolutely amazing the whole experience was! The food is authentic Chinese cuisine. We had two appetizers, which consisted of the dumplings and dry rub ribs, duck fried rice and I had the orange peel chicken, my husband had a spicy shrimp dish. The food was outstanding as was the service and the inside decor. We had tried them once before with take out. Inside dining is a much better experience for sure. They did an amazing job on the inside and outside. We have been waiting to try them since we first saw them constructing the restaurant. We wish them future success, and look forward to our next dining experience with them. Definitely give them a try!

Fantastic appetizers. Other than Fantasy Cuisine, my favorate place in Westchester. Excellent service, fantastic food.
Be the first to ReplyOne of the nicer Chinese restaurants in the area
This is probably one of the nicest Chinese restaurants in the area. Grabbed dinner here with friends and family a few times. Always busy, so I do find the service here a little slow. Overall, I do like most of the food here and usually order3 the braised beef brisket or short ribs and crispy fish. The braised beef is usually very tender, but found it a little tough the last time. Was also told that crispy fish had to be ordered a day in advance and was given a whitefish as an alternative. If you are salt sensitive, you might find the dishes here a little too salty. Still one of my favorite Chinese places in Westchester, which is why I still gave it four stars and will go back here again.
Be the first to Replyexcellent food but....
First time there. Everything we ordered was excellent. Their Peking Duck was supurb. Wait staff very friendly. BUT... I checked their website before making reservations and their covid protocol was posted so we were happy. It appears they forgot to remove it!! When we got there the place was jammed with tables and people. Most of the staff did not wear masks at all or had then over their chins. There was no mask mandate for customers while waiting, no checking of temperatures adn certainly not "limited tables" as stated on their website. I spoke to the hostess and she said she would notify the manager and was sorry, we waited a few extra minutes(outside) and they gave us a booth in the back where it was a bit less crowded.

Just returned from my daughter's 60th birthday dinner celebrated with our small family and a dear friend.
The venue is beautiful. The food is superb and plentiful. Our server,Barney, and the rest of the staff were top of the line.
O Mandarin made a very important day perfect.
Upscale Chinese Restaurant
On our first visit back to O Mandarin since the pandemic, our party of five had dinner on Saturday night. When we arrived at 5:30 the restaurant was already busy, but we had reservations and were seated immediately. Since we love to taste as many dishes as possible we ordered family style. For starters we had Hot and Sour soup (the best anywhere) and egg drop soup. We then shared Vegetable Dumplings, Glazed Spare Ribs (absolutely delicious), Sichuan Pickled Cabbage and Bubble Pancakes. For the main course we shared Tea Smoked Duck, Sweet Pea Shrimp, Lotus Root Stir Fry, Orange Peel Shrimp (messy but so good), Veggie and Egg Fried Rice and Shrimp Chao Mein (the real stuff with soft noodles). As usual, service was spot on. Other than the prices being a little too high, the whole dining experience was great. Definitely my first choice for upscale Chinese food.
Be the first to ReplyThe best Chinese food in the area.
This is our favorite restaurant for Chinese food. The food is always fresh and hot and prepared to our liking. We generally go there for lunch where the menu is unlimited. A lunch special prices are very reasonable and you can get just about anything. The staff is friendly and very competent. The service as well. I really canโt say enough good things about this restaurant. We will continue to go as much as we can perhaps at least once a month to enjoy the lunch and the atmosphere. We have Chinese friends who tell us that this is their favorite Chinese restaurant as well.๏ฟผ Sam Marcus
Be the first to ReplyO Mandarin Catering
O Mandarin catered my sons backyard wedding last weekend. We chose them because it is the couples favorite Westchester Chinese restaurant.
The food was delicious, the staff was professional. Peter managed the venue professionally and with ease. If you need a catered event, O Mandarin does a great job.
There is a reason the Michelin Guide has given the restaurant a plate. The food is good Chinese food - hard to find in Westchester!
Food not ready for pickup
We ordered online three hours in advance. Our food was not ready for pickup, and we had to wait over thirty minutes for it. We asked for the price to be adjusted, and the restaurant did not agree. We will not go back again.
Be the first to ReplyNo Social Distancing
Our party of five went here for dinner last Friday night. The food was very good, but the service was inexplicably slow (our waiter disappeared several times for up to 10 minutes at a time). What surprised me most was how crowded it was and the lack of social distancing. There was NO social distancing. The bar area was closed, but other than that, all the tables were arranged like normal and were full. People in the booths were sitting back to back. Only one table had been removed from the center of the restaurant. If anyone has COVID in this place, everyone will get it.
