So so bad.
Are bots writing the good reviews of this place?? Service, food, organization - all terrible. The staff was the worst part of our experience, followed in a close second by the food quality. Observations: table across from us, food comped due to bad service. Table behind me, food comped due to bad food quality. The poor manager was the hardest working employee there; comping everyone's meals. Is this place going out of business? I will say, the guacamole was good. Everything else: shockingly bad. If you want to roll the dice and try this place, I hope you don't get the team that I encountered.
Be the first to ReplyThe food at Norma's was mediocre, at best.
Nothing was seasoned properly and so bland. The menu is extremely over priced. Each wine pour was chintzy, 3-4 ounces per $17 glass. The service wasn't even good (and there were only 4 tables). We walked away paying over $200 for two and adults and two kids, plus valet! So over-hyped. Don't waste your money like we did!
Be the first to ReplyOur serve, Dahlia, was so cool.
She was fun, informative and friendly. She fit with the fun midcentury vibe that was prevalent throughput the whole hotel. They have really cool art pieces that are unique as well as quintessential pieces. The food was great. We had the lobster macaroni and cheese and fish tacos. We started with the crab cakes, the vegan crab cakes and the guacamole and chips. They were all good too but the vegan crab cakes tasted too mushroomy. The drinks were good too. I had a beer and margarita. Their beer selection was small with a cool assortment of foreign options.
Be the first to ReplyFabulous.
We had our BMW serviced and saw that this was nearby. Wow. Amazing menu and service. Much better than hanging out in a dealership. This is in a 5 star hotel which is known to be very "hip". I guess we are pretty hip now too! Oh yes I need to mention they are pet friendly and Bentley loves the dog treats and special attention. We will be back!
Be the first to ReplyIt was a very interesting experience.
They had us wait 20 minutes for a table even though the restaurant was half full before and during our meal. There seemed to be enough staff on the floor and our food came out of the kitchen timely, however it seemed as though we were lost on the floor and had minimal service while we saw other tables receive excellent service. When we went to pay, they did not have change for a $100 bill. I am not sure what was going on there, but it really was not a good experience. The food was good and the restaurant and patio were really nice. I just know that there are a lot more choices out there and I would not recommend Norma's.
Be the first to ReplyThree of us had an early dinner the other night and overall
Three of us had an early dinner the other night and overall it was a meh experience, especially since it was very expensive. When we arrived no one was at the host desk and we waited for about 10 min. (and asked the hotel reception if we were in the right place) for the manager to appear. We were finally seated on the patio; service was slow for the rest of the evening and it appeared they were understaffed. Patio heaters were running out of fuel and several had to be changed out during dinner. One of the people in my group had issues with her cocktail: she ordered a whiskey 7 but got whiskey and club soda. After asking for an extra glass of 7 up or sprite to add to the very strong drink at the table, she was again brought club soda. An experienced server and bartender should have known how to make this drink, but it just turned out to be a $24 cluster f. The lighting is too dim; as darkness came, we had difficulty seeing the menu and then the food. We noticed others using their phone flashlights to look at the menu. Some supplemental lighting would be helpful. Plus the original patio lights on the side of the building are bright and shine outward, so if you're sitting as I did looking toward the inside dining room, they are blinding. There was a smell of sewer that occasionally came around the table; not sure if it was from the treatment plant across the wash or from the Salton Sea. It could also have been coming from somewhere on the resort grounds. The food was good: lobster mac and cheese, petit filet mignon, and Nonna's doughnuts. Parking is not free; it's $25 or $15 with restaurant validation, plus valet tip. Overall we spent well over $300 that evening and for that it should be an amazing experience. The hotel/resort/grounds are wonderful: very hip and quirky with several chill lounge areas to sit in. The service fell short though for us and that is why the 3 star rating.
Be the first to ReplyLovely atmosphere.
Service is top notch. Food was good. Sit outside. It's beautifully decorated. Pricey for the quality.

Came here for brunch with my husband a few days ago and it's such an adorable place!! Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Booking system was a little odd but we luckily were able to book a time/day that was free and managed to sit outside on their lovely patio. My husband and I split a couple items tapas style and we loved the short rib Benedict!! Definitely would come back.

Norma's never disappoints, food is always on pointe, outside seating always the best vibe, and if you're fortunate enough to get Tito as your server, you'll get above and beyond service. The Parker is a beautiful venue, highly recommend
Be the first to ReplyWonderful place to eat.
Quiet and soft music playing while you dine. Staff was fantastic and attentive. Had the smoked pork chops and they were amazing. Highly recommend the Bonanza for dessert.
Be the first to ReplyThe reservation system here is complete trash.
We booked our table online and thought the $25 fee was just a deposit that goes to the overall bill, but NOPE. You have to pay for a table here!!!! You have to PAY THEM to take your money. Gross. When we got there too, at least 5 workers on our way to the restaurant asked us if we made a reservation. Like, really, you need my $25 that much?? I'm already paying $120 for 2 orders of French toast and mimosas. The food and vibe here is only fine- they tried to seat us inside when we paid for an outdoor table. Overall, just avoid this place and check out a restaurant where you don't need to pay for a reservation. Would give zero stars if I could.

This experience sucked ! I had been warned that the service was bad and stuck up but after many visits to Palm Springs I thought it was time to give Norma's a chance. Regret it. (I should mention that i worked in restaurants for years and won a hospitality award for my work as a maitre d in London's best steak restaurant.) Two of us stopped by during modernism week and ordered a couple of salads. The restaurant was half empty not to mention freezing cold. We waited almost an hour for those salads. Our server ignored us and we tried in vain to get someone else's attention. Eventually we managed to flag down another waiter who gave us a dirty look and the weirdest response when we sweetly informed him we'd been waiting a long time. It felt almost lynchian he was so eerie- and not in a good way. After that interaction we almost got up and left but we were starving. Eventually he came back and told us - in his freaky charmless manner - that the food was on its way. Lots of staff standing around sniggering to each other. At one point two chefs appeared on the restaurant floor and stood whispering and gossiping with one of the wait staff. Eventually our salads showed up and our original server reappeared smiling supernaturally as if nothing was up, as if to make us feel stupid for questioning the situation. We mentioned we'd waited ages and he had the audacity to say 'yeah it's just so busy' - but the restaurant was half empty. Not to mention a child could have made much much better salad at home. It feels like the staff hate the customers and think they're too good for their jobs. Bad vibe. Good luck normas ! Bye !
Be the first to ReplyMy boyfriend and I went to brunch at Norma's this past
My boyfriend and I went to brunch at Norma's this past weekend. This place deserves 5 stars in every category. From the host (Marco) to the servers, bartenders & bussers, this restaurant goes above and beyond to give you an extraordinary dining experience from the minute you walk in to the moment you leave. The staff is all very friendly, attentive, and conversational. Our server (gosh I am kicking myself for not remembering his name) seemed like he was genuinely interested in getting to know who we were and our reason for the visit which I don't think you get at a lot of places (and in my opinion is the difference between a good dining experience and an extraordinary one). We started with some drinks (bellini & mimosa) which were fab while we decided what to order. Our server was very helpful in the selection process providing both his own personal choices from the menu as well as what had been popular selections lately. We both chose an eggs benedict dish (Norma's for my bf and Upstream for me) which were superb...and interesting variations of the traditional eggs benedict. The overall experience was truly lovely, our server weaved in his own personal stories about his family to our conversations while also being genuinely interested in our visit to Palm Springs (also providing some further recs to our itinerary). We will definitely be back next time in town - 5 stars Norma's - you put a lot of effort into the food, drinks, staff and culture of this restaurant and it really really shows! thank you!

I've been to Norma's many times in the past years and have had decent food. The latest nonsense with their reservation system is egregious and ridiculous. They want you to pay for a reservation in addition to the massively overpriced menu as it is. I called the restaurant to try and figure out what was going on and it's basically an absurd process where they are unwilling to bypass this ridiculous system they have set up to buy a reservation. Never heard of something this crazy....
Be the first to ReplyEpic in every way! We stopped here after our spa treatments
Epic in every way! We stopped here after our spa treatments at the yacht club and were ready to fully embrace the Palm Springs lifestyle aka martinis too early in the afternoon. Everyone who worked here was so sweet and nice and really let us hang out as long as we wanted. It was about 2, so not very crowded. I had the "flat as a pancake" crabcake and it was just what I needed to soak up the martini. The outdoor patio feels very VIP and you could certainly imagine Hollywood stars hanging here for a spell.

Absolutely disgusting, I've been to Norma's a few times and it was not a happy experience. My dad got a seafood dish, my mom got the mushroom soup, and I got the spaghetti. The food was alright when we ate there, but later when we drove back home, my dad threw up from the food and I and my mom also felt very sick, the food tasted like it was frozen and came out of a can, and don't even get me started on the bread, it tasted like a tough rock. Never going there again, I still feel like throwing up to this day after 2 years.

This place is FABULOUS! After producing a 3 day event at the hotel, I finally got a chance to eat at Norma's. Marcos- the manager- was the most pleasant and resourceful gentleman and my server Gigi was witty, charming, and fantastic. Oh yes, and the food was delicious HIGHLY recommend.Great staff, great vibes.
Be the first to ReplyLovely environment.
Super ritzy and want to give off an exclusive feel on the property considering this is where the stars stay in Palm Springs. The grounds are wonderful, security is definitely stiff, but the food is some of the best you can get in Palm Springs. Great variety, well-crafted beverages, and just an overall high level experience. Will definitely keep returning.

I had such high hopes for Norma's!Sadly, this place didn't deliver. Upon arrival on Friday morning, we were told by the bellhop who opened the front door of The Parker that if we didn't have reservations for breakfast, we wouldn't be seated until the afternoon, but that we could ask the host, anyway, if we wanted. So, super welcoming from the get-go! But hey, if I'm stupid enough to pay $29 for a breakfast quesadilla, let me order one! There was only one other table being served at 8:30 a.m. We were seated right away, thankfully. Ordered a $30 omelet and a $29 quesadilla. Both were bland and disappointing.I didn't get a refill on my $6 iced tea because our server was MIA until delivering our check (which we had to ask another server to retrieve).$90 for a depressing breakfast is a hard pass. Too many other great breakfast places in Palm Springs!

We went with a big group for NYE dinner and we were really disappointed with the quality of the food. I have a feeling this place is better for brunch than dinner. But the service was really nice and the setting was great.
Be the first to ReplyI can't think of a worse NYE experience.
From being told we had to get our own drinks to an indifferent management, this was spectacular fail. Don't waste your money or your time.

Went here on a Monday night and the food was absolutely terrible. Server was very nice but brand new. No complaints on service. The food, however, was inedible. The salads tasted like they were a week old, fish tacos soggy, fajitas were bland and very expensive. The entrees came out over the course of a ten minute period. This place is pricey, do not waste your money. Plenty of other places for less money and decent food in the area. You're paying for the Parker name here.
Be the first to ReplyOk this place is just pretty and aesthetically pleasing
Ok this place is just pretty and aesthetically pleasing however food is terrible and overpriced. We did not like anything we ordered, lack of seasoning. Also they use a platform that charges you to make the reservation, why ?!! Makes no sense, then they tell you oh here is "free" donuts. Not free at all if I had to pay $30 to make the reservation.
Be the first to ReplyFirst time here and I loved it.
We had such a great time. I came for brunch and everything was amazing. Me and my friend shared the Lox and lox bagel. They gave us sooooo much salmon honestly worth the $32. It is also topped with caviar if you are into that. Their homemade lemonade was too die for. The service was just as amazing. I definitely recommend coming here and trying it out :) definitely take as many pictures as possible
Be the first to ReplyAs good as advertised.
Great food and interesting decorations. To top it off my children did not fall into any fountains or break anything. A good time was had by all.
