Not bad.
Leaves you wanting for the price (expect to spend 300 min before tax/tip with 2 people.) Black cod was perfectly cooked. Flavors were solid, good, but nothing new and exciting and I didn't get much miso flavor. Salmon tacos were delicious- umami, citrusy, and had a crispy shell! Bluefin tartare was disappointing. Caviar wasn't that salty, tartare portion was tiny, wasabi on the bottom was basic and overwhelmed the whole dish, and not a single wonton chip in sight. Rock shrimp tempura was delicious, a little sweet, but the carbs from the tempura were a real welcome at this point. Yea, veggies and tofu in oil were ok. Best thing about the meal was the dirty martini from the bar and the salmon/tuna tacos (only one bite, maybe two.) We ate at sensei by nobu for dinner earlier in the week and it was meh. One forty is a better option. If budget is tighter, take the shuttle to hotel lanai grill for a great meal - you will not regret.

Food was good especially the vegetables in the salad and tobanyaki. Service was friendly but rushed and not refined.

.. My favorite drink. I've dined here on two occasions and that's the winner in a glass! All of the food is to die for, I really enjoyed my tacos. Wagyu is a must. The sushi is fantastic too. I had the toro and it melted in my mouth. I can't wait to come back!
Be the first to ReplyI've been to Nobu Lanai a total of 3x now.
Once during my visit to FSLanai last year and twice during my most recent visit to FSLanai. The yellowtail jalapeno I had here last year was probably the best version I've had at any Nobu. We ordered it again this year and while it was good, it was not as good as I remembered. Here's what I recommend getting:- yellowtail jalapeno (a classic)- whitefish sashimi with dry miso- miso black cod (another classic)- lobster tempura- spicy tuna with crispy rice (i really like Nobu's take on this dish. it was fun to eat)- wagyu gyoza (smoky, juicy, umami. get this)- any of the maki (I really enjoyed the spicy scallop and spicy salmon maki)- sashimi tacos- wagyu anythingHere's what I recommend skipping:- creamy spicy rock shrimp tempura (I've never had Nobu's version, but I saw so many people ordering this dish and got FOMO. I regret wasting calories on this)- uni (at Nobu's price points, the uni should be amazing, but the only thing I could say about it was that it was edible)- most of the nigiri - we had an excellent nigiri set as part of the omakase last year, but we ordered a few a la carte this year and were underwhelmed Yes, Nobu is way overpriced for what it is. You can definitely get much better sushi for less. However, if you're staying in Lanai, it's worth at least one visit for the food, views, and vibes.Pro tip: make a reservation for dinner in advance, but if you want a more casual vibe, you can walk in and sit at the bar. Heads up: the service at the bar was a bit slower.
Be the first to ReplyThis is probably the worst Nobu I have ever been to.
And I have been to almost all of them. Do not go there! The food was not good. There famous miso cod was pre marinated & had a bunch of sauce on it. It literally tasted horrible. We also preferred the Kobe beef & that was mediocre at best. I ordered a slightly dirty martini & it came with no olives. This is Nobu, how the hell do they not have olives to garnish? When I asked the manager he said they ran out. Not acceptable for a five star 1st class resort like Four Seasons. Our bill was over $500 and the food wasn't worth crap! I warn you don't fall into this trap of Nobu @ Lanai. Go to the steakhouse next door which is on the same resort, it's called "One Forty" The food @ One forty was incredible & the service was amazing! Nobu In Lanai is crap!

Top of the line sushi. When I told the staff I was celiac they were extremely accommodating to me, and reminded me that every dish was prepared gluten free. I would highly recommend the Nobu Lanai'i 10/10 best dinner we had while staying at the four season resort. Not easy to get a reservation. Slots fill up quickly so plan ahead.

Very disappointing. Terrible service, bizarre and confusing menu, food is mostly formulaic and pre-prepared (the food shows up within moments of being ordered), extremely loud thumping music that might be suitable for Las Vegas but is totally out of place on Lanai, sushi was good but super expensive and not nearly as good as any of my neighborhood sushi places at home.

My wife and I ate at this Nobu while vacationing at the FS here. We started out with some cocktails, Yellowtail Jalapeño, Black Cod Miso and some A5 Wagyu. It was all delicious. We then moved onto a number of other rolls include some toro (which was (incredible) and another round of the yellowtail because we loved it so much. The service was great here, the views of Hulopoe Bay and the overall ambiance are amazing and unique to this location! I loved this resort and this Nobu is a fantastic option for a dinner while staying in Lanai.
Be the first to ReplySadly this Four Seasons location is not the quality one
Sadly this Four Seasons location is not the quality one associates with Nobu. I'm sure the pandemic has been a major challenge in this small island, so have to cut some slack, but the food was borderline bad.. The sushi very was poorly made with dry rice and comically thick pieces of poor quality fish. Hope this location has a comeback someday.

By the ocean. In paradise. At a Four Seasons Resort. YES. YES AND MORE YES!!! The food was marvelous. The service- impeccable, friendly and not pretentious. The view- breathtaking. I'm going to keep this review short because it's just all around great and no amount of describing can really do it justice. It's WONDERFUL! A couple of things to note. Book ahead months in advance to ensure you reserve your spot. I called the restaurant directly as I was having difficulty confirming the reservation online, so you may want to call them directly to confirm. Overall, a magical and unforgettable dinner. Perfect.

Our favorite Black cod with miso, it was so delicious. Tempura rock shrimp was good too. Spicy edamame to start and it was hot after a few bites. A little pricey but it was an enjoyable experience.
Be the first to ReplyFood was ok, but definitely over-priced based on the food
Food was ok, but definitely over-priced based on the food quality, service and environment. Recommend try its branch restaurant at Sensei Hotel which is way better than this one at all dimensions.

The negative reviews are so confusing to me!! We had such an amazing experience at the NOBU at The Four Seasons Lanai. Our waitress was awesome and we had such an amazing experience, not to mention the food was incredible. Randomly it was the BEST espresso martini I've had!!

WARNING: DO NOT TRUST FOUR SEASONS!!Like most, I have to have a pretty strong experience to be motivated to write a review. You can check my other review from years ago, it was incredibly positive. This should give you a frame of reference for how poor my experience has been with my Nobu experience at the Four Seasons. Here's the full story - I have been dating my girlfriend for about a year, and I wanted to celebrate her birthday with her in a special way for our first time together. Her favorite restaurant is Nobu. We also had picked out a few travel destinations, and Hawaii was on that list. Perfect. Let's go to the one in Lana'i. I made the reservation at Nobu and called to confirm it was good before even booking the tickets to Hawaii (we live in California). I even called the restaurant a week before our flight took off to confirm our reservation was good. We were "all set".Lana'i is a nice island, but certainly unless you're going to the Four Seasons (and I'm not operating on that budget), it probably doesn't make sense to stay for more than a day. We stayed there three nights with the belief that our Nobu reservation was on a Friday night, and then we'd leave on the ferry the next morning to go Maui. Upon arrival in Lana'i, our shuttle driver informed us that only people staying at the Four Seasons were permitted on their grounds (and since Nobu is on Four Seasons turf, no one could go there). We called now for the THIRD TIME to confirm, and the day before our dinner, they said they would be canceling our reservation. The reason was for the past 3-4 weeks, they had changed their policy to only have Four Seasons guests on campus. That's fine, but why didn't anyone tell me in advance? We could have made other accommodations, and certainly staying in Lana'i for 3 nights would have been the principal one of them. Given enough advance notice, we may have chosen a different travel destination completely. With only a day in advance of the first birthday of hers we were sharing together, my girlfriend and I were now limited to about 4 restaurants in downtown Lana'i (most of which were already at capacity for the night). I asked what they could do to correct their error. They had no idea. I then followed up with them asking for a dinner at Nobu to be taken care of by Four Seasons. They countered by offering a bottle of champagne, and then later offering a dinner at the Four Seasons (no alcohol). Both of those I refused, because again, my girlfriend was looking to go to Nobu, NOT the Four Seasons. I have followed up multiple times with multiple people and have not received a response for weeks. Just flat out ignored. So much for their famous "customer service".TLDR: Booked a trip to Lana'i just to go to Nobu and they canceled our reservation the day before our dinner. Girlfriend's birthday was effectively ruined. Do not trust them, they will not honor your reservations nor try to rectify the problem.
