Cracking evening with first class food and wine.
Fun, charming staff and possibly the best steaks in Texas. The atmosphere is always incredible and the restaurant constantly busy with a wonderful buzz that isn’t overbearing. The service team cannot do enough for you and as I done previously asked for something not on the menu and it has been managed without question. Well done as always.

Exceeded all of my expectations. A friend and I had reservations for a Monday night at 7:00. The restaurant was mostly full, the atmosphere was upscale, the lights were low and we were seated immediately. We were sat close to the wonderful piano player, entertaining the patrons and were able to see a lot of the hustle and bustle behind the kitchen counter. The first item we ordered were Martinis, The Barbie and the Cotton Candy. The presentation on both martinis was fun and the drinks themselves were sweet and delicious. Next we enjoyed the Caviar Sample Plate and Park Cities Sushi Roll. The sushi was extremely fresh, the shrimp was crispy and all of the sauces were well proportioned. The caviar and crackers were fishy, salty, and moist, accompanied with crunchy crackers to enjoy the multiple flavors. Our main meal (we shared the steak) was a 26oz Porterhouse, cooked to a beautiful red/pink medium rare. The steak is cut for you at the table and served hot and fresh. Our sides were the au gratin potatoes and the brussels sprouts. The Potatoes were creamy, cheesy and warm, the brussels sprouts were just the right consistency of roasted yet faintly soft, the pieces of pork belly and the chili sauce were wonderful. We ended our amazing dinner with the 7 layer Celebration Cake and of course added the Cotton Candy! I do not have a single complaint nor would I change a thing. The service was top notch. Absolutely treat yourself to a meal at Nick and Sam's.

First impressions, too crowded, too dark, and too noisy. Waited in a crowded bar for about 10 mintutes...not a problem on the wait time. Once we were seated, our table was right in the path of staff and guests, not happy. Asked to be relocated, and with no push back, was seated at a better table. This place is mad on a Sat night. It's so busy and loud, but after a while, we started to enjoy it. It's why you come to a place like this. The waiter was great, the drinks and appetizers were great. We just enjoyed taking it all in. You saw young and old, high sophisticated and casual diners. Main course came and we loved it. After dinner, before we left, a manager approached and asked about our experience. We shared what we thought and he offered us some cake to go...it was a nice gesture that we took him up on. The chocolate cake was delicious and could have served 4. What we expected is what we got, and then some. I would definitely return! If you like to see a bustling, live atmosphere with great food, this is the place to be. Oh, by the way, got to meet Matt Jones, QB for the Patriots...you never know who will be there.

This is the best steakhouse in the Dallas metro. You’re wasting your time going anywhere else. The service is incredible, the food is amazing, and the ambience is top-notch. Do yourself a favor and make sure you visit Nick and Sam’s.

This is a well known steak house in Dallas. Met a group of friends for the evening. Because we had a large group, we could not be seated until everyone got there. Some were stuck in traffic so we hung in the bar which was fine. Good drinks there. But as people showed up, we literally couldn't be seated until we were down to just one person outstanding. Servicer was quite rude, not unlike what you would expect in an old timey steakhouse. Tables were so close together, it was difficult to get out once seated. It was very noisy as well because of this. A friend and I ordered a bottle of white wine to share which was taken away, not kept in ice by the table. We constantly had to ask for refills and couldn't really see where the wine was taken. Most had meat or fish, sashimi which looked ok. I am vegetarian and was served a spicy tofu vegetable dish which I really couldn't eat because the sauce was so thick and sweet. They did, however, serve a complimentary caviar serving which was the highlight.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Birthday celebration ended on a sad note
Once you get past their version of show-and-tell and get to the star attraction, actually eating the food, the experience is very good. Pricey!!! The steak tartare appetizer and the caprese salad were hits with everyone. The steak portions are quite large and easily shareable unless you want lots of leftovers. A don’t miss side is their damn good fries. Our party of four ate half the order; the rest were taken home. Do try the heirloom carrots. Like us, I suspect you will be glad you did. We were celebrating a birthday. I must say I was shocked and somewhat disappointed that such a high-end restaurant did not offer a complementary desert. Too bad that our evening ended on such a disappointing note.
Be the first to ReplyJam Packed but worth it!
Had a 8:30 pm reservation and arrived at 8:15 to a very packed lobby and entire restaurant area. We were told they were running at least 30 minutes behind. Surprisingly I was able to get 2 cocktails quickly. We were seated fashionably late by a wonderful hostess at a great table. Barbara was our server. She was quite attentive and friendly and did a superb job! The food was excellent. Overall everything was great despite the large crowds.

This was my go to steak house. The order was for a med rare chateau breiand. Was disappointed with the burnt chateau breand. They offered to replace the order but the wait wasn’t convenient.

So these fine dining places are keeping Dallas alive because this city struggles with good food! After three days of being unsatisfied with multiple places we went to we decided to step it up to attempt to get something in our bellies because like general cuisine just wasn’t cutting it. So that leads us to why we chose here. Our Uber driver recommended this place and so we went! Upon walking in one would expect a vibe, I meant dim lighting, greeted immediately then shortly seated thereafter. Now after this part there was a hiccup in our service where we were like where’s our server…but after my coworker voiced her concerns we noticed an immediate improvement. Now drinks, are pretty solid. I got the bouton iced teacher but honestly tasted like just peach tea soo I wouldn’t get again because it wasn’t worth the price at alll. But my friends liked the margs and the old fashioned. I just ended up getting Jameson neat because you can’t go wrong with that. So that’s that was that. So I love how they come out and do the whole meats situation. They explain all their types of cuts, prices, styles, etc- if you look at my face in the picture you can definitely see me trying to digest it all! But I loved it! We ended up getting steaks. Staff here makes you cut your steak while they are around so that you can ensure it being cooked the way you went it. I had to send mine back because it was a little too red but it was quickly fixed- my the other three steaks at the table were perfect. The creamed corn was also good. Also! When they ask about allergies please be honest! All ingredients aren’t listed! So my friend ordered the Brussel sprouts and they had like some kinda nuts on them and it’s not listed on the menu but the server did ask did anyone have allergies… so we had to send them back to be remade but we blame my friend! So please be honest with things you are allergic to. The green salad and the Cesar salad was good as well. They enjoyed the calamari and these rolls things as well. The bread is also fresh, and we were also brought an app at the beginning that the table loved i just didn’t try. I also love how they celebrate birthdays! A cute dessert and little show! None of us got dessert because we were too full so I can’t comment on that. The bathrooms were clean but just like the rest of the restaurant dim lighting. So clearly, expect to pay… lol. Two drinks per person plus dinner and a side can easily run you over $500 (four of us) but we all agreed that the food was worth it and was the first time in like three four days we had anything good in Dallas. Bill came and co workers said it looked good so we closed out. I looked after closing out and saw we had been charged for an extra glass of wine. I think because there’s sometimes more hands on deck than one our server stated that he thought we had ordered another glass but we didn’t… so he ended up comping some dessert for us to take bc it would be too much to redo the bill after splitting it so make sure you double check your bill before paying! Other than that! All is well! Dalton was an amazing manager and kept checking on us and made us feel welcome. I think our server name was Iam? Idk- but he’s pictured and he was great so please shout him out! One last slight negative was this girl who was serving the table next to me and kept bumping me. After like the third time of her knocking me i adjusted my seat but I felt as though she needed to adjust her path… but that’s that :) Got a cute picture taken orr my request by the lady at the front to wrap up the night and I finally went home full and satisfied for once in dalllas!
Be the first to ReplyExcessive Wait Time
I made a reservation on Saturday, 9/16/23 to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. We got to the restaurant a few minutes before our reservation but it took us nearly 10 minutes to check-in. Once we checked-in, we were told to wait at the bar. We waited over an hour to get seated. The bar was extremely crowded that everyone kept bumping into one another. The staff seemed very unorganized. I expected a better operations system considering the reputation this establishment has. Once we left, valet took over 30 mins trying to find our car. It appeared that the valet team lost the ticket number associated with our car key. The experience was very disappointing and this is the last time I will be visiting this restaurant. I would not recommend this place to any friends or family.

Living in Alberta Canada, I have been to a fair amount of steakhouse restaurants. Well Nick and Sam’s has been put up in my top three (have to go back to the others for another review). Our hostess, Megan was fabulous! I am still amazed at how she was able to walk us through the various cuts of meats an the seafood. The Waygu, was to die for! My biggest suggestions, bring an appetite, and good friends to share the meal! Everything really is “bigger” in Texas!
Be the first to ReplyThe Bar area is loud!
We had a reservation, but due to only one person handling valet we waited over 15 minutes for our car to be parked. Walked in the restaurant late for our reservation by 20 minutes (you're only allowed a 15 minute grace period), and was told we needed to sit in the bar since our reservation was cancelled, or we had to wait until a table became available. Bar has loud music playing, which I have never seen in a high-end steakhouse. Food was excellent, definitely priced on the higher side. Service from our servers was excellent. Don't sit in the bar.

My groomsmen and I went to Nick and Sams while in Dallas for the Arkansas Baseball games. We had a party of 8 and had to make a special reservation. That process was easy and painless. We arrived at the restaurant on time and were seated within a couple of minutes. The only real complaint for the entire dining experience is the table choice. All 8 of us were sat at a table that may have sat 6 comfortably. We were given no other options for tables and had to sit here near the corner of the room. Servers and other guest kept having to squeeze by the entire night and it was quite annoying. I have been to Nick and Sams on other occasions and knew what to expect when it came to the atmosphere. It is lively at night and can sometimes be hard to hear. We all got drinks and appetizers fairly quick. We shared a few sides and each had our own meal. Everything concerning the food was great. The king crab elote is stellar. My ribeye was cooked perfect and the drinks were very good. Will be back for special occasions, but not with a group over 4. It gets too crowded.

Be the first to ReplyAwful Business Dinner Experience
This was probably my last trip to Nick & Sam's. Its extremely unfortunate that I brought a client of mine to dine at Nick & Sam's last night and we both received one of the worst dining experiences we have had. My clients and I have pretty high expectations and standards when it comes to business dinners/meetings and were assured that Nick & Sam's is a premier dining destination. I should have done more research as this was FAR from the case last night. I had a reservation at 8:30 for dinner to which we were sat under a very large chandelier, which was pretty much the only real lighting in the dining room, and our table, as well as my client and I, were lit up as though we had a spot light on them. From an ambiance stand point, a TOTAL miss. It was odd and uncomfortable. Our waiter was flustered and made us feel as though we were just another job for him. No character, just blah and non attentive. We had to flag other waiters for our drinks, to which our empty drinks were left on the table. Also, we had to ask for bread plates for the bread, as well as a butter knife, and additional plates to share our apps. We rarely saw our waiter except for when he was helping other tables. Unfortunately, that is not the worst part. EVERY SINGLE DISH WAS ICE COLD. My steak was so cold it did not melt the truffle butter on top. The food was unacceptable and not edible. The manager came by and asked if I wanted anything else to which I said no. My client meeting had all but been ruined. Additionally, he seemed annoyed with me which only added to my distaste for this restaurant. Owning a large development company as well as other ventures, I had really hoped to find a home to entertain and host my clients and friends; however, the lack of professionalism, dismal quality of food, and poor service has all but ensured that I will not be back, nor will I recommend to any of my business partners and friends.
Be the first to Reply30 dB too loud - most probably excellent kitchen - but no table free for modest people
This is my first review of a "restaurant" in which I did not get anything to eat. Because unfortunately we as a group (scientists) were not even brought to a table. We were pushed into a psychedelically lit hallway for almost 40 min while we had arrived on time, had a "guaranteed" table reservation, and were put off for 5 minutes at a time. In the end, there was no point in staying. A hyped scene restaurant probably. Very disappointed. Better visit the neighboring Good Graces. It's about 30 dB quieter there and there are tables.

Reserved a table for an important business meeting. Waited 40 minutes being told ‘just 5 minutes’ . Eventually left without being served. Very disappointing.

Whilst they have a great menu, they have walking.menus in the waiters. They reel off what is on offer, with aplomb. They will show you the selection of steak a seafood on offer. The portions were large and the sides were enough for 4 people but the steak melted in your mouth. The restaurant was very busy. I am disabled and found it easy to manoeuvre around the tables, staff were a delight very helpful and service was excellent. Well worth a visit⁷
Be the first to ReplyBlatant palm greasing encouraged at this establishment!!
I watched as men slipped hundred dollar bills to the young women( all women and all young) at the host stand. The women would gingerly place the money down, smile at the man and magically the men would be sat in front of the large amount of people waiting patiently to eat on the list. This happened twice in a matter of 15 min while I was watching, so you can imagine it must be commonplace at Nick and Sam’s. I asked Enoch, the GM if he thought it was right that the hostesses palms are greased and certain patrons get sat before others on the list patiently waiting . He said, “yes if people are going to take care of “my ladies” then “Yeh I am going to take care of them.” I asked why he was referring to the employees as “my ladies” explaining he doesn’t own them. He then repeated yes “those are my ladies,” continuing to say that those customers that treat “his ladies” good(slipping money) get priority over others in line waiting fairly as they should. I explained to him that lots of people have worked really hard, maybe even saving up to have dinner at this establishment and they shouldn’t have to wait an extra hour because people come off the street greasing the host stand palms. He began to get upset with me and asked me to leave the restaurant. The experience was really slimy and seemed so unjust. I have eaten there before and to be honest it is super loud., overly crowded, people literally right on top of you when you eat. The food is decent but not exceptional. There are many welcoming steakhouses in Dallas that are much better food wise and ambience with less pay to play patronage. I will NEVER again support and establishment with with culture. It’s a hopping place but lacking ethics. I guess it depends what type of experience is going Iike.
