Packed little place on E 50th, with a small town diner vibe.
Hand written than you notes and reviews are stuck to the wall in the entry way, and the owners/servers were super friendly. No frills breakfast place with all the usuals, eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, etc. We sat down, ordered 3 minutes later, and food was out maybe 6 minutes after that. No idea how they served us so quickly. If you're looking for a classic American breakfast, this is the spot. I'm a corned beef hash guy, and theirs didn't disappoint. Nailed the over easy eggs.
Be the first to ReplyGreat breakfast, great service and very good prices.
Nice to see locals in the place not tourists so you know it's good! Corn beef hash was great

Great little spot, comfort food and very good service.
Be the first to ReplyFinding decent diner food in NYC at a reasonable price can
Finding decent diner food in NYC at a reasonable price can be challenging. Me and my family have been to quite a number of diners in Manhattan. Generally speaking, if the food is tasty, then it's expensive. If it's cheap, it's not all that tasty. And if you do find cheap and reasonably priced food, then the service stinks. Not so with the New York Luncheonette! Once our hotel host recommended them for breakfast, (We were diagonally across the street from the restaurant.) we decided to go there. Over several days, we ordered the Lox, Eggs and Onion Omelet, BLT sandwich, home fries, toast, French Toast and Bacon, pancakes and sausage and several other items. I can honestly say that we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of our food, prices and service. Truly, the service there made a mockery of all of the stories that you hear about rude NYC service. Everyone was pleasant and enthusiastic about their food. We never asked for a second cup of anything because the staff was on top of things. (Rare now due to almost everyone being understaffed.) And you got the sense that everyone there truly wanted to be there. And I'm a bacon and lox snob, so you give me either one of those dishes that isn't quite right and I'm bent out of shape for the rest of the day. No worries with either here. Thick cut crispy bacon and lox that was extremely fresh. Yeah baby! Bring me more! And my sister, Luch is notoriously picky about her food and even she said that we can go back again based on the pancakes. My daughter, Muff said that the French Toast was "tasty". That's high praise from a Gen Z kid. We will seriously be back for the food, prices and especially the service.

Okay so nothing there is extraordinary unless you're counting the fact that perfectly done traditional items are an every time occurrence. Classics done exactly how they were invented. No fruit or nuts In chicken salad but it's like how grandma used to make. Best apple pie I ever had btw.
Be the first to ReplyA nice, simple little diner on 50th Street.
The food is good but not amazing. I came here with a group of 8 and we all ordered different things. Everyone liked their food but no one raved about it. One of my friend's meals (the turkey club sandwich) was actually pretty dry. The one reason I rated this restaurant a 4 instead of a 3 is because of their fresh squeezed orange juice which was delicious and made in house. Their service was also exceptional. They got our table ready right away and our server was kind and knowledgeable about the menu. He even let me taste their OJ before I ordered it. To sum it up, our visit was a nice experience - a good stop if you are hungry and don't know where to go - but it won't be my first pick next time.
Be the first to ReplyAwesome food and even better people.
I went on 5/1/22 and I had the 2 egg sandwich with ham, I loved everything about the sandwich and the French toast is to adore here. The staff were extremely polite and adjusted to my mother's dietary constraints. I overall loved this place

I like to avoid the tourist taps and pricey places. I needed a place not to far from Grand Central and this fit the bill! Huge menu with everything you could want on it. Reasonable prices and very large portions. The food was really tasty too. Definitely recommend!

I visited the city and the hotel I was staying at was right next to this place. It was getting close to noon time and we just wanted something simple and sure enough this was exactly what we were looking for a dinner type experience in NYC. It really hit the spot and at the right price too.

Great little place for breakfast in NYC, the fastest service I ever had in the city, great options for breakfast/brunch.Food was great, and coffee was very good( that's a must for me and most of this breakfast places they burn out the coffe)Will definitely come back when in the neighborhood
Be the first to ReplyVery cute diner.
Had a great Diner experience here. It was exactly what I was looking for when visiting New York. Location was close to my hotel. So we just walked there. The tables look like they only have room for 2 or 4 at a time and we were a party of seven, Staff were great and had a table for us within a few minutes. They were friendly and fast. Covid precautions in affect here. They check for vaccine cards and move dividers between tables as soon as they sit guests down. Staff have masks on (but it doesn't keep you from noticing they smile at all guests) and were great to us. The food was perfect. It was prepared quickly, looked great and tasted amazing. Just look at the pictures. If visiting New York. Make sure you go here. It won't disappoint.

Grateful that this place was open on New Year's Day, but it was fairly obvious the staff did not want to be there. Breakfast food was mediocre, but more importantly, the staff was just not polite. This was our server, the bus person, and even the store manager; not one of them seemed friendly at all. I guess this is New York for you.

Traditional NY greasy spoon that my Brooklyn raised husband has been missing. ย He thoroughly enjoyed bacon, egg & cheese on a roll and I had French toast and bacon. ย It was perfectly cooked. ย Portions were great. ย Juice was fresh. ย It was a little tight but service was fast and they were moving people in and out quick. ย Definitely recommend.

Stumbled upon this place before heading to MoMA for a quick breakfast. Place was busy, but we were seated right away. The food itself was fresh but pretty average in terms of flavor and presentation. If you're looking for a quick, classic, diner-style breakfast, check this place out.
Be the first to ReplyQuick and basic breakfast.
They are efficient and handled my wife requests perfectly.

Three stars for everything coming out hot, which is always a nice surprise, and the potatoes coming out cooked.I got the Corned Beef Hash and eggs. The cbh had a particular metallic flavor, like it was salted with iron filings, or perhaps left to oxidize in an raw aluminum pan for several weeks. That is to say they weren't atrocious but certainly lacked the already barely-present flavor that the ubiquitously used canned corned beef hash already contains. You learn to love that sort of thing if you're a diner-head, but this was especially disappointing. Fast service, though, but so is every other diner in the area. I dont know, just dont get the CBH. Potatoes were great though, some of the softest i've had as of late.If you are looking for a nice place to dine after being diagnosed with cancer at Memorial Sloan Kettering around the corner, there are better diners in the area. Good enough to eat but not worth a short walk.
Be the first to ReplyThe first thing you notice when you are seated at the table
The first thing you notice when you are seated at the table in the middle of a busy Manhattan street is that the table is on a slant. I took out my level to be sure by my intuition was more than enough. However, do not let this deter you the food is fantastic and the experience excellent. The waitress, bless her heart, took my order and returned a reasonable amount of time later with all my food. Even smuckers jelly (which I didn't even ask for mindreader much). The food tasted really very good and the plates hardly slid on the slanted table. The smuckers elevated the whole meal. The coffee kept flowing and we were not shoed from the table after paying the bill. To top it all off I took some smuckers to go and was not harassed for it. That's what I call quality service.Pros- smuckers-view-smuckers-restrauntCons-none they had smuckers

This spot here was where I ate the pancake lumberjack with sunny side up eggs and ham. Of course I paid the entire bill for three, pretty good setting for an early morning breakfast.
Be the first to ReplyThis place sucks.
The food is not good, the staff are extremely rude, the kitchen is dirty and the prices are too high.
