Morton's The Steakhouse Cleveland Reviews
One of the nicer options in downtown Cleveland.
Sat at the bar and enjoyed the conversation with the other patrons. Service could have been a little quicker but bartender was hanging around the other end of the bar socializing with her back to me. When it was time to leave I paid with cash and the bartender took way too long to bring back my change as what appeared to be an attempt to have me leave rather than wait for her to return. She continued to service other customers and kept walking around with my money. It was too much to walk away from so I waited and she eventually returned but the damage had already been done. Must have been a slow day for them....
My wife and I went to Morton's for a Valentines Day weekend.
We left very disappointed after spending $220 on dinner. She ordered the Sea Bass and I order the Filet with Loberster Tail. The Filet was cooked perfect, but the tail was very dry and over cooked. My wife's Sea Bass was not cooked through and was cold on the inside. It was cooked on the outside, but raw on the inside. She asked them to cook it alittle more and we got some attitude. So she watched me eat as her meal was being cooked again and I was done with my meal when she got hers. So I watched her eat. I kinda had feeling when we walked in and they had the steaks all sealed wrapped sitting on the table area by the grill. They looked like how you would order Omaha Steaks. We will not go back. We went to Red's a few years early and LOVED it, but wanted to try something different and that was a big mistake. Save your money and got to Red's.
Morton's is a great place.
Such a good experience with the waitress. The food was good I just didn't think it was anything worth the price. But the experience was worth it.
Best bone in ribeye steak I've ever had, we were there to
Best bone in ribeye steak I've ever had, we were there to celebrate my daughter's 14th birthday. The service was pretty good, even though our server was in the weeds and kept forgetting small things, lol. I was in the industry for 5 years so I understand. Very friendly and convenient valet right at the front so you don't have to struggle with downtown parking. The ambiance was very nice and what you'd expect.
Ordered the bacon wrapped scallops, as an appetizer.
Very good! I ordered lamb chops. These were very good and probably the best, I have ever had. Chicken Christopher was ordered as well. This was excellant. Very nice restraunt and the waiter Rick, made it a very enjoyable experience. For dessert we had the creme Brulee. This was very good as well. Highly recommended. Last but not least, the baked potato was enormous and very good!
Service was good, my Cajun ribeye was absolutely horrendous.
$68 and it was the toughest and most dry steak I have eaten in a long time in a restaurant. If they are going to serve dog food, they should charge $9.99 and still would be cheating their customer's. I don't send food back cause why waste the food. I just do my best to warn future potential customers from wasting their money. This kind of kitchen ticks me off. I can get a better steak at Chili's. Dont waste your money on this fraud of a steakhouse. Low quality meat at high quality prices!
We had an amazing dinner here.
There were a couple of things that could have been improved upon but overall everything was delicious and our server Joe 2 was very accommodating.& friendly.

First was lied to when called in to see if we could get a hash brown the day before... . Asked manager why we couldn't get it and he said he'd look into it... and never returned. 1 out of the 3 steaks was cooked wrong 3 times, the third time i just ate it because everyone else was almost done with theirs. Just a horrible experience. Talk about awkward. Will not be back at this location.
Disappointing, microwaved, sub par food.
Disappointing. Our server was wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable and kind. The atmosphere was dated but pretty. The food was disappointing. We ordered filets and they were overcooked, burnt on the edges. They were not creatively charred, they were burned. The Au Gratin gouda potatoes were from a box, they were not real prepared potatoes at all and they were not cooked well but microwaved with a bunch of cheese on top to cover it up. Our side of asparagus came with dessert, sadly and was microwaved to mush, we didn't even eat them. So we didn't touch the potatoes, except for tasting them, didn't touch the asparagus except for a bite to taste and sent the steaks back half eaten. Ding, ding, ding....this should be a heads up for the manager, the chef, anyone? Nope. Never saw hide nor hair of a manager. The best thing about the meal, the server and the dessert. We had some type of bread pudding and it was divine. I'd heard a lot about Morton's and being a steak fan was excited to go there, so disappointed. Hyped up, over rated bad dining experience. We won't go back.
Very good restaurant in downtown Cleveland
Great restaurant awesome service good food nothing special and pricey you will enjoy Again not a michelin restaurant
We were able to make a same day reservation on open table
We were able to make a same day reservation on open table within 45 minutes which was odd because when we just walked in they advised that they were booked unless we could find seats at the bar. Oh well, we were seated that's the main thing. It's a very nice restaurant and on the fancier end; we just came from the football game so we were a little underdressed lol. Like most steakhouses everything is ala cart and enough to share. Of course our steaks were cooked to perfection and verrrryyy good. The mashed potato was kinda bland. We ended up putting the steak truffle butter into it and it was fantastic after that. If the manager or owner reads this review I recommend putting it in and on the menu. It'll be a hit haha. Brussel sprouts were very flavorful. It was all so good I forgot to take photos ugh. Which very rarely do I do lol. Our server was good as well. I'm hungry for steak now lol

I have been to both Marble Room and Morton's, any and every day I would choose Morton's. The service is always excellent, food is top tier, atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable, I can not say enough good. Especially if you are celebrating something such as a birthday or anniversary, they go above and beyond with cute little extras! Love it here and will be back any chance I get. Thank you, Morton's, for a great experience every time!

My wife and I came here to celebrate getting married and we had an amazing experience. The service was top notch and the food was fantastic. They really went out of their way to make it a special night for us and we will forever be Morton's fans because of it. Highly recommend
Avoid this place
25 years ago, this was the closest place to a Heavenly meal and formal environment. Last night stunk. The $54 filets had no taste. Mine was overcooked. The side was very spicy despite our server suggesting it was mild. There was a 10 year old running through the dining room. There were people in sports bras and leggings. There were people in t-shirts and Jean shorts. Apparently Morton's is so desperate for income they will not enforce dress code nor unruly children. We felt like we were at Outback. Except for the price. And sadly, both my friend and I left saying "what a shame, never again". Take your money elsewhere, this place is no longer special and no longer worth the expense.
Perfection
We were celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary and Morton's was everything we were hoping for. Samantha, our waitress, was wonderful, A+, #1, and outstanding in every way. She went above and beyond to make our experience perfect. The food was amazing I had crab cakes and my husband had a Cajun Ribeye, both were out of this world. Easy valet parking. I highly, highly recommend it. Our first visit but it won't be our last!
Really enjoyable experience
If you are looking for a traditional steak house experience, Morton’s will not disappoint. The food was just really flavorful, which I honestly wasn’t expecting. We loved everything, from the French onion soup (which is made with sherry…delicious!) to the strip steak, which was perfectly cooked. GET THE HOUSE STEAK SAUCE. It is soooo good…lots of horseradish flavor. The Gouda bacon potatoes were also stellar. Because it was our anniversary, we got a free dessert, which is a really nice touch. The lava cake was a nice ending to the meal. I will definitely return for a special occasion. The service and atmosphere were top notch.
Extremely Disappointed
I have been to Morton's several times, I was shocked at my last experience there. I went with seven other family members. We were going to dinner and then to a concert at the place. This restaurant was clearly not the one I remembered. Everyone's steak was not cooked correctly {actually burnt or under cooked}. Clearly the chefs did not care what they were sending out. Our nieces and nephews gave us this outing. What a waste of money. I have been to Longhorns, Outback and Texas Roadhouse and got great steaks and really good service and spent less money. Morton's should absolutely be down graded to 3 star restaurant. I was so disappointed I recommended Morton's.
I love fine dining and I appreciate the privilege to be
I love fine dining and I appreciate the privilege to be able to go out to eat. That being said I've been here twice. First time was mid week and we practically had the place to ourselves, it was great. Steaks cut like butter and service was excellent. Most recently we went on a Saturday. We had a reservation at 7pm but were not seated until 7:15pm. We had a bottle of wine and some beers but by 8:15pm we had still not received our appetizers. Our server was very sweet, but kitchen was behind and we decided to pay for our wine (management offered to comp it) and we left. I still will say the food I've eaten here is great and I've never had poor customer service, but the owners or whoever runs the reservations needs to be help accountable. Do not accept reservations if you do not have enough staff to deliver a fine dining experience. That is unfair to your servers and staff.
I was actually super excited to come here.
I made a reservation for a birthday for a small group. From the start, our service was immediately slow from the delayed greet, to the delayed water, to the impossibly slow drinks (that also all came out at different times despite being ordered together). Service didn't pick up until another Morton's employee told our server that half of the table including myself were former Marble Room servers and that he'd used to work with us. Nearly everyone at the table said at the end "did anyone else notice our service got better only when he found out we were service industry people?" Service should be consistent from the greet to the bill presentation. And, additionally, if there IS a reason for the pick up in service, it shouldn't be so tacky and obvious as to why. On to the even more disappointing food: No one at our table of 6 was wow'ed. But the real standout was this salmon. Now. As someone who's served at a multitude of restaurants of many calibers, I can say that this is not a piece of protein I would put in front of any customer, regardless of the temp they ordered it. It's simply burned and gross looking. Now, what if I told you the salmon was ordered "medium rare." It's actually unfathomable to me that this was placed in front of a guest. I won't be back, and suggest everyone else save themself the time as well.
Worst Mortons experience by far.
My husband and I consider Mortons to be one of our favorite restaurants and had a horrible experience at the Cleveland location. We have dined at other locations, primarily Pittsburgh and have had mostly good experiences. We were seated with no menus other than cocktail menus and waited 15 minutes for our served Joe to greet us and provide with the food menus. My husband ordered the wagyu blackened rare and a plain baked potato with butter. I ordered the steak and seafood feature with a loaded potato. We are not much of drinkers so we ordered 2 soft drinks which we not offered refills. We had to ask the runner to refill our drinks. We observed our server Joe waiting on other tables very attentively when we were ignored. My husbands rare wagyu was cooked blue and was not blackened where my filet was a bit over and also not blackened. My husband's potato was not cooked in parts and had fir xtra butter and waited a long time to receive. When my dinner arrived my scallops were missing and at that point we addressed our concerns with management. Just a very poor experience and for the type of restaurant Mortons is known to be it should have been almost perfect. I will never visit the Cleveland location again and will give Red the steakhouse a try the next time im in the Cleveland area.
Very good food.
I had the surf and turf. Staff was friendly considering our reservation was right before close. Nice setting for an upscale dinner.

Excellent waiter, very attentive, friendly, and went out of her way to handle even one of our dumber requests. Steaks and sides were good. Most of the bartenders are knowledgeable, friendly, and patient.
The problem was we came for Christmas a couple of years ago
The problem was we came for Christmas a couple of years ago and everything was perfect. This year not so much. They stuck us in a back dinning room that was only manned by one overworked waiter. After being seated we waited for a long time before he came to take our drink order. After spending a long time searching he finally gave up on finding a wine list. Our food finally came and was quite good. Our sides were never delivered. The Restrooms looked to have not been serviced all night trash cans overflowing no towels ect. For a restaurant of this price range there is simply no excuse. If you don't have the staff book fewer reservations. If you have problems with your staff follow up. Our dinning experience could best be described as a cluster-####.
Delish! Great atmosphere and awesome friendly service!
Delish! Great atmosphere and awesome friendly service! The prime Cajun ribeye, med-rare was to die for! Baked corn soufflé - amazing! Smoked Gouda & bacon au gratin potatoes so good! All in all a terrific night out! Thank you! Can’t wait to visit again 😊
Reservations on open table.
Arrived early. No Valet. No Valet at nearby hotel. No street parking. No close garage suggestions. Hostess unconcerned and dismissive. No care in the world about it. Need to carry to dine at Morton's ??!!! Ok. Tried to schedule a weekday on open table. Require credit card. 50 dollar a person cancellation fee 24 hours ahead. Nope. Never going again. Twist in the wind. Goodbye. Party of 6. Going anywhere else. Let me know when that bs ends.
At an expensive steakhouse you expect exceptional service
At an expensive steakhouse you expect exceptional service and steaks. I received neither. I sat in the bar area which probably did not help getting good service however the steak still should have been exceptional. I ordered the 8oz filet medium rare. The steak came out medium rare to medium. However, it was very dry. I question whether is was USDA Choice instead of USDA Prime. It was the same quality that you would receive at Outback. There is nothing wrong with Outback but it is a lower quality meat thus they charge you much less. The waitress came to see if i needed anything but never asked how the food was and I never saw the manager after I received the steak. Bottom line poor quality and overpriced. Go to another steakhouse like Hyde Park or Red where you may pay a high price but at least get what you expect.
Wonderful protein!
My wife and I both had filets. Most succulent. Service was wonderful even though it was busy. Great wine list.
You get what you come for at Morton's.
Expensive steaks, but very flavorful and cooked to temp. The sides were also quite nice. We got the salmon main, porterhouse with truffle butter, and roasted cauliflower side. The salmon was presented well and cooked to temp, and had good flavor, but the portion was a little bit underwhelming for the price tag. The porterhouse with truffle butter was delicious and ended up making 2 meals because it was so big. The truffle butter was not worty the price, definitely could have gone without it. The roasted cauliflower might have been the best part, it could have made a meal by itself almost, and was very flavorful and presented well. Our server, Joshua, was exceptional and explained the menu and drinks very well. It was a great experience, but be prepared to leave a dent in your checkbook.
