Easily the best meal my partner and I may have ever had or will ever have in our life. Incredible staff. We felt like we were in someone's home. Lovely, warm ambience with amazing music. And out of this world flavors.

Be the first to ReplyGood pasta amatriciana and cold peroni.
The service was good as well. If you sit outside you'll enjoy the trast ambiance.

Great indoor and outdoor vibe in the heart of trastevere. Pasta with basil and tomatoe sauce is a hit and so was chicken skewers with potatoes.
Be the first to ReplyFirst Impressions: arrived at 7:30pm after some apertivos
First Impressions: arrived at 7:30pm after some apertivos (but starving as we landed late afternoon and missed lunch hours) and was surprised to find a queue of people waiting to be seated, as dinner is usually served late (typically 9pm-11pm) in Italy. Loved the ambiance and outdoor seating, but as the heat and humidity hadn't dissipated even at 7:30pm with the sun having gone down, we opted for indoor seating. We were seated in the lower floors, which had AC (main dining floors has fan/AC but it was open to the street so was a bit warmer mixing with outdoor air). I usually like outdoor seating in Europe, but as we were still jet lagged and hungry, being seated in the lower (cellar?) floors we were able to enjoy our food within a pleasant air conditioned room with other diners and not compete with outside street noises. The Noms: seriously, delicious. Was hard to top out first meal in Rome... it was so good. I had the carbonara, which they are known for: creamy and rich and the guanciale was so crisp and succulent and lent a fatty richness to the meal. Think bacon but leveled up to 10000x. The portion was perfect and even though I was full, I wished for a second stomach so I could relive that meal. My husband had the lasagne (which they are also known for)... I've never been a big lasagna person, but HELLO this is the best lasagna I've ever had. Ever! It was so creamy and melt in your mouth, the sauce is robust and flavorful, but the pasta remained Al dente... like, HOW? Usually lasagna pasta is a mushy and over cooked in the baking process but holy eff this was AMAZING. I think I ate a full third of my husband's meal. We also had a focaccia bread with mozzarella and mortadella to add to the meal and it was good. Bread was thin and crispy yet chewy. I enjoyed it. In Conclusion: Yes, yes, YES! Go here! So delicious! Keep in mind there's also a location in Rome's city center but I loved the ambiance of Trastevere. Wish I could have gone back for another meal!
Be the first to ReplySeeing as this place has 5 stars on Yelp and Trip Advisor
Seeing as this place has 5 stars on Yelp and Trip Advisor with thousands of reviews, I had high hopes for our dinner here. The restaurant itself is very cute and it's in a great location. The food wasn't bad, it was just pretty average and I'm not sure I understand the hype. I ordered the carbonara after reading positive Yelp reviews about it and I really wasn't impressed. The bacon was the most flavorful part, but otherwise, the dish's flavors sort of fell flat. That said, we ordered the focaccia and the caprese salad as appetizers and I have to admit that it was (by far) the best focaccia we had during our trip to Italy. I had a limoncello spritz to drink, which was tasty and not something I saw on a lot of other restaurant menus while in Rome. Maybe we just caught Mimi e Coco on a bad day, but I wasn't super impressed overall.

The eggplant was outstanding. Best Tiramasu of our Italy trip.
Be the first to ReplyBest meal we had in Rome.
Carbonara was PHENOMENAL!!! We also tried the capers, lasagna, and pesto flatbread and all were fresh and delicious. Our only grip was that the Cacio el Pepe, while having great flavor, came out a little lukewarm. Though, it not enough to withhold 5/5 stars.
Be the first to ReplyIf I can only have one meal in Rome, it is this.
The ambiance, the location, the noise, the food........BRAVISSIMO. And, if I lived in Rome, I would go everyday. Maybe one day I will.....
Be the first to ReplyGreat meals! We had pastas and soup and enjoyed everything.
Service was good and it's a nice atmosphere. I would definitely eat here again.
Be the first to ReplyFinally!!!! Food inside downtown Rome is awful.
This place is worth the cab ride. It was so delicious from start to finish. The vibe of the place is excellent and they have really yummy, strong drinks! Highly recommend giving them a try.
Be the first to ReplyWe went out to Travestere looking for a place to eat
We went out to Travestere looking for a place to eat previously having visited Roma Sparita a few nights ago. We stumbled upon Mimi e Coco Trast, the restaurant had a laid back vibe accommodating a party of 5 with a double stroller. The walls lined in a Dark Forest Green wallpaper embossed with french filigree and a beautiful chandelier over the bar.We haven't even gotten to the food yet and I've already convinced myself to come back. We ordered the typical spritzer before chowing down but they weren't the "typical", there were several varieties of custom and refreshing spritzers which we tried about half and everyone had a happy face on with no complaints. I then followed up with a Negroni which was also perfectly made. Okay no about the food we had the Chicken Spiedoni which ruined potatoes and chicken for me. Now I can never look the same at them back home again. The Tonarelli all's Gricia was made perfectly as well, same pasta that's used with Cacio e Pepe dishes and some of the ingredients that you need for a Carbonara. It was fantastic! My wife had the Carbonara which was her favorite so far in Italy, she says she loved it so I'll take her word for it. She's a tough critic! The dolce was all excellent we had the Tirmasu, the Chocolate Salami, and the Mimi e Coco House Specialty Coffee which is an espresso with chocolate at the base topped with whip cream in a collada cup. The only downside was that there was no changing pad so be prepared if you come with kids and plan to stay through a four course meal. Overall 5/5

First class service from Maria. Highly recommend the meatballs and the ravioli!

This place was great! I came here on a Monday night, around 9pm. And the entire area was hopping. We waited about 20 minutes for a table, but it was worth it.For an appetizer was had the mozzarella and meat for the table. The cheese was so fresh and yummy. My wife and daughter (16) both had the Lasagne. They remarked it was different than the lasagne they have had in the states as it was layered differently. They also both said the taste was so yummy! My other daughter 12) had the meatballs and they were to die for. The meatballs came with potatoes, which seemed odd but was a perfect compliment. As for me, I have the Spaghetti with bacon and red sauce. It was gone in five minutes as it was delish. Too stuffed for desert, but they gave us two free shots of lemoncillo. To add to the awesome food, our server was top notch. Attentive and informative. Go. Here. Now

I've been in Rome for just about three weeks, and I've been here five times already. The cocktails are among the best I've had in the city, the food is spectacular, and the staff is friendly. The interior is beautiful, but outside seating seems more popular (and there's a good bit of it too). I only had a wait once, and they offered me Prosecco on the house while I waited. If you're in Trastevere, this is a solid spot.

I was wandering around Trastevere trying to find a place for dinner. I picked this place because they had a table. My lucky day!The cacio e pepe was wonderful, and the service was fantastic! As a solo woman traveler, I often received less than good service. The staff was attentive and friendly. Would recommend!

When we got there at 7pm, almost everyone were having aperitivo. We opted to have the Caprese salad followed by Ravioli and Cacio e Pepe. Nicol and Eva were so attentive at taking care of us. This was service at its best! We really appreciated the limoncello shots after dinner. The Caprese salad was fresh and a great prelude to our meals. I have been craving for Cacio e Pepe and this didn't disappoint! There were lines of patrons waiting to sit down. This location at Trastevere was really quaint and romantic!
