Mi Compa Chava Marisquería Ciudad de México Reviews
Good Food Terrible Service
I wanted to like this place but they need to work on that service. I was made to feel like an inconvenience here. I wanted to order something else but was told at 7:20P when I wanted a minute to look at the menu that they were closing soon, when folks were just arriving. So instead of ordering something else, I left hungry. As someone with Italian roots, you should be ashamed of yourselves! I've never had this level of bad service in my 6x being in Mexico City. And no one else seemed very nice either except the hostess. I asked to sit at the bar but never thought that meant every server would brush me walking by and never apologize. I even moved to a spot with more space and it kept happening. Food was good. Service terrible. The only reason why I gave them a 2 was because the food was good (though the cheese taco is not good to me) and it had a fun atmosphere. But the service ruined it all.
Camarones azarados!!
Such an amazing place. It recreates how a Marisquería is in a town far from fancy CDMX. Quality of food was simply superb! Get the grilled prawns you won’t regret it
A new peak experience at 71 😬
My partner and I were walking to a highly- recommended Vegan restaurant when we came upon this bustling high-energy restaurant. This after passing many quiet little restaurants/cafés that eere, effectively, empty. We stopped to ask why this place was so busy and were told ….”all seafood, some of the best in Mexico City”. I’m a huge seafood lover so we decided to try it. We put our name in and, though there was a line, 5 minutes later we were seated. We were given a choice of the patio or inside and we opted for the patio. Although we were seated quickly, I didn’t think much about it other than the table was a table for two and maybe we were the only deuce in the line. I hope that’s what happened. Reading some of the reviews, now I’m not so sure. With that said, we had a great experience! Food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ … I had blowfish (nineteen) tacos, a dozen small oysters on the half shell & a raw clam chopped and topped with shrimp, scallop and the best octopus I have ever eaten, which isn’t much because it’s always so chewy. My partner had seafood tostada, I don’t remember which one, but it was unlike any tostada we have ever seen, anywhere! It was all the freshest of raw fish, scallops shrimp, tuna, etc. the portion was huge. … and, as I said, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ … Pleasant, professional & detailed, frequently clearing used paper napkins and empty oyster shells (with tongs) & clearing & replacing small plates as they were used. Ambience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ … we sat on the terrace outside the front of the restaurant. It was comparatively quiet considering the volume of sound coming from the inside. I am certain that if we had sat inside, I would not be reading ambience at five stars. I will just close by saying racism exists everywhere. I rarely experience it firsthand though I see it in action everyday. I’ts just one of many cancers that plague human behavior. Having been blessed in my life with many wonderful relationships with people of different ethnic and racial backgrounds I have learned to NEVER question or doubt anyone who acknowledges having this experience, accept for only the most blatant and obvious race-card plays. NAMASTE
Best seafood in CDMX
Some of the best fish and seafood I have ever had. Loved it so much, I bought the hat! Service from Carlos (Canelo) was great too.
Local hit
Wow, we encountered this busy Mexican (in the local charming way) fish restaurant by accident. We had to que for more than 30 minutes. But it was worth it every minute. What an excellent meals in a very lively (noisy) and relaxed atmosphere. Is was best food we had for long time.
