We loved everything about this place! Great service, atmosphere, customer service and most of all- GREAT FOOD! Our server Terry blew us away! Terry was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave great suggestions. Terry was also a genuine soul and provided us with great service.

Full disclosure: I ended up here because I stayed at Moxy Williamsburg-Brooklyn and they had a deal for two free cocktails at this restaurant (Moxy failed to tell the restaurant, so I was glad I had my reservation details handy). Regardless, I am glad I landed here! This restaurant focuses on cuisine from Tel Aviv, so a Middle Eastern/Jewish focus. The menu is divided into the following sections: Nishnushim (small plates), yalla (shareable plates), gadol (individual entrees), and mesiba (large, shareable entrees). I had the frena, a delicious, light bread served with sour cream and spicy shatta. It was delightful, however, if I had been paying better attention (sorry, long day of work), I would have ordered the frena with table-side hummus service (special of the day). I also ordered the cucumber salad, which was cool and refreshing. Made with chilled cucumber, tahini, adjaki oil, and what I assume was watermelon radish--this was wonderful. The dish also had nuts and fresh mint, so it was bursting with flavor and texture. For my main course, I went with the server recommendation--the kreplach. Made with charred onion ricotta, hazelnuts, spinach, and leeks--laid on a bed of soup/broth--this was a light and savory choice. Some of the other choices are equally enticing--roasted cabbage, red snapper, baba ganoush, branzino, and more. Cocktails are creative, refreshing, and fun. I started with the Tevah margarita--made with patron blanco grand mariner, poached pear, toasted black walnuts, blue spirulina, and lime juice. This was super tasty and made for an attractive photo. I also had the Loukoumades sour, made with tanqueray, lustau amontillado, arak, pomegranate, sumac, preserved lemon, and citrus. I finished with the Arak Service, an anise aperitif of grapefruit and honeydew. This isn't for everyone, but it was served in crystalware with fanfare. The licorice taste of the anise portion, the clean, biting character of the liquor, and the bite of the grapefruit were most pleasing. I had the "kisses" for desert at the recommendation of the server. This is a vanilla meringue shell with Chantilly cream and black currant sorbet, served with fresh berries. The sorbet was tangy and the berries were fresh, but this wasn't my thing. I should have ordered the dark chocolate dish or the charred cheesecake. No shade to the server. This is a me thing, not a him thing. This restaurant also offers pickled veggie dishes, various fish offerings, lamb, chicken, head on prawns, whole fish, and a large ribeye meal. Service was understated, but attentive. Drinks refreshing. Lots of creative food options. Prices on point for this area of Brooklyn. Nice cocktails. Would stop in again!

Food: 5 stars I had the charred octopus, fluke crudo with the fresh hot bread which I ate b4 remembering to take a photo, and the crispy friend branzino (or was it sea bass?) Either way, it was perfect! Service: 5 stars Server was attentive, ensured I had a good understanding of the menu and made great recommendations and pairings. Thanks Teo! Ambiance: 5 star Beautiful decor with ambient lights and appropriate background music. Perfect for a date, dinner with friends or just treating yourself to a lovely meal. Summary: it's a YES for me. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu soon.

We had an exceptional meal tonight- and the service far exceeded even the food! Nora was so amazing- her recommendations were spot on; each dish more delicious than the next! Her attention to our family, along with her kindness and patience truly made for an incredible evening. We loved the vibes, the food, the drinks and NORA

We just came from dinner with our adult daughter at this lovely restaurant. It was excellent!!! The food was delicious and beautifully prepared. Service was great- just enough so as to be unobtrusive but there any time something was needed. Desserts were also outstanding. Heartily recommend!!!

different. Middle Eastern. A vibe. In town on business staying at the adjacent hotel. Heard that they had table side hummus. Count me in! Delicious.

Had one of the best meals of my life! The selection was incredible. Highlights include the prime rib, the chicken dish, schwarma and THE PITA BREAD. GET. ALL. OF. THE. PITA. BREAD. Had a remarkable evening for a birthday party. Highly suggest renting the back room if possible.

We went on a Friday night for International Women's Day with a reservation. We had to wait about 15 minutes but they were great and even offered to comp our first round of drinks. The drink options were very cool and they have their own version of an espresso martini! It was great! All their food was unique and delicious! Highly recommend the hummus special of the night - it came with a hummus cart that came straight to your table and the hummus server really 'salt baed' that thing. Overall, great experience and ambiance! Would highly recommend.

Visited Mesiba as it is connected to the Moxy Williamsburg for a late snack and drink. I didn't make reservations and luckily, my friend and I were able to snag two seats at the bar. Inside it is beautiful and very aesthetically pleasing. The bartenders were kind and provided some insight to the menu. We ordered the frena bread, cucumber salad and dumplings (that weren't on the menu but saw it in a Yelp review). I had two glasses of the PÉT' NAT. Everything was delicious but the standout was the off menu dumplings! I'd like to return to try Chef Eli's Msabbah Cart!

I literally dream about the eggplant appetizer and whole fried fish.

This is one of my new favorite restaurants in the neighborhood. Everything we ate was unique, fresh & delicious. The ambiance was modern and comfortable. I will definitely be coming back with friends. Thank you!

Absolutely stunning restaurant with beautiful decor located next to the Moxy Hotel in Williamsburg! Every detail is perfect, especially the ceiling fixtures. This restaurant is a great date spot! To start off, we ordered the Frena Bread and Fluke Crudo. The bread and dip were both so delectable. The fluke crudo was such a unique flavor (as were all of the dishes). Think this was my first time trying Fluke, and it did not disappoint. Unfortunately the restaurant was out of Octopus which we were really excited to try. But this opened up more options for us to give a shot. We then had the Baba Ganoush. This tasted absolutely amazing! Then came out the Kreplach and Chicken Musakhan. Again, fantastic flavors across the board. We finished off this meal with the Kisses dessert. I'm usually not a fruit sorbet person, but this definitely did not disappoint. I think ordering 5 dishes + dessert was perfect for the two of us. I definitely need to come back to try the octopus. Would highly recommend checking this spot out for dinner if you're in the area! The restaurant opened a little less than a year ago. Not super hard to get a resy (yet!).
Be the first to ReplyAmazing new restaurant in Williamsburg!! Incredible
Amazing new restaurant in Williamsburg!! Incredible decor/atmosphere and friendly servers. Every dish was so flavorful and delicious. We also loved the creative cocktails (not pictured). Overall, highly recommend trying this place. A little pricey for the portion sizes, but would be great for a large group so you can try a little of everything! -Frena - fluffy bread with a creamy dipping sauce-Baba ganoush - eggplant dip served in a charred eggplant and topped with tahini -Mushroom shawarma - meaty oyster mushrooms with pickled onions and green tahini sauce -Mesiba salad - endive, pear, almonds, and manchego cheese with a honey dressing-Kreplach - the BEST! Rich leek and ricotta filled dumplings served with butter sauce, sautéed leeks, and hazelnuts

My wife and I went to Mesiba during their first week and were blown away by the food, drinks, and vibe. The whole crispy fish was a show stopper - I haven't tried anything like it before and it was delicious! The cocktails were super creative and beautiful, I loved how fresh the limonana was. All the servers had great attitudes and were really helpful in explaining the menu. The design of the restaurant is beautiful and helped to create the super lively atmosphere. There's really nothing like Mesiba in Williamsburg - Moxy Williamsburg is a great add to the neighborhood and we can't wait to go back.

My boyfriend and I love to find new restaurants and we were so excited about this place. The ambiance and decor were such a vibe - super trendy style. We were greeted by two hostesses that were very friendly. They have such a unique cocktail menu. I ordered the Gazoz which was a beautiful cocktail. We also got the Turkish Old Fashion, Dvash and Motek. These all tasted great but the quantity it not enough and these were not strong. For food, we ordered the Frena, Spicy Plate TLV Vibes, babaganoush, fennel salad, mushroom shawarma and kreplach. The bread was delicious, this is a must have. The Fennel salad was refreshing and lemony. The babaganoush was served as an eggplant, it wasn't a tradition version of this so if you don't eggplant you may not want to get it. How ever, I liked it and I thought it was could. The spicy play TLV vibes is just peppers served 3 different ways - it's good if you want to add this to other entrees to make it spicy but I wouldn't consider this an appetizer. The kreplach was a dumpling with ricotta cheese which was good. The quantity of the food was not great. Each dish was so small and it was price didn't match the quantity. Overall, the restaurant was really aesthetic and the people were nice but wouldn't recommend for the price/quantity. Also they had so many people working there but the service was pretty slow.

5. Dined here one early Friday night. Food rundown:- Freva bread (5/5) this was delicious, order this.- Eli's Babaganoush (5/5) big highlight, beautifully done charred eggplant with tahini. You'll need an order of the freva bread since it doesn't come with anything to dip it.- fennel salad (3/5) it's fresh but was heavy on the citrus, wasn't my favorite tbh.- mushroom shawarma (3.5/5) good flavors but was underwhelmed. It was 1 "kebab" for $21.Dessert:- cheesecake (4.5/5)- knafeh (5/5) The dessert was excellent. And the service was very nice and attentive too. Would come back to try more dishes, and to eat the bread/babaganoush/desserts again. Selfishly, my hope is they start to serve decaf cappuccinos as that would have paired perfectly with dessert.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing new Israeli spot in the new Moxy Williamsburg hotel.
Get the Frena Bread ($8) to start and the Ktzitzot ($24). The FennelSalad ($21) is also a good starter for something lighter. For the larger items, the Chicken Musakhan ($36) was excellent, as was the larger Lamb Neck ($54).Try the Cheesecake ($1) for dessert.
