Wonderful service and a nice atmosphere!
Wonderful service from the whole staff, amazing and tasty food and a spectacular atmosphere with live music. You must visit Manko.

Worst treatment I ever got on a restaurant…the manager is rude, disrespectful, judgmental and honestly I can’t even believe such a high standard restaurant would ever allow for an employer with such poor client relationship skills to be managing the place. The manager ordered us to change table to the bar area (we had a reservation for dinner, not “bar”) apparently because we didn’t order enough food, without EVER being told that by the staff and not being listened to even when explaining it. When we complained about the treatment we where receiving, he was condescending towards my friends and myself, SITTING at our table with us, talking down on us. Never in my life I experienced anything of this kind and I recommend you search for another restaurant to go to until the managing service is upgraded. Apparently from reading the other reviews, this is DEFINITELY not a first or one time situation. In addition, the decôr was very pleasant, the food was good, but not great, the waiters were very friendly, just in need of better guidance. So much potential wasted with lack of professionalism by some of the staff.

Be the first to ReplyI am black, I love Manko and it is NOT A RACIST PLACE
So, I felt obligated to write a review after reading the last reviews people have been leaving about Manko. I am a black person and I do not live en France but I visit Paris once or twice a year ( at least ). Been to Manko a few times and i loved it. I was even with another black friend and we had an amazing time. I don't understand those reviews, I am sorry about the bad experience those ladies had but this must have been an incident not at all related to their skin color. I can confirm that black people are welcome there, but indeed they are selective. Maybe that evening the place was full and they had to be more selective...? Not sure what happened and I am sorry for the people that got rejected... Manko is a wonderful place and I highly recommend.

Attended with two of my associates, very average food, not use to this being from the heart of London city, an average Joe's type of mediocre restaurant, will not be returning!

FOOD
Food is way overpriced, lots of fried stuff, not healthy.
There was almost nothing on the plate, whose taste is lower than an average french brasserie.
SERVICE
The server pushed us to order more and to buy more drinks. She gave us an altitude when we ordered, since it was 'not enough'.
Service was terrible, they could not ind my coat, which was supposed to be kept at the vestiaire.
We booked the restant with the lunch menu of 26 euros. It has been confirmed but when we arrived, we were told that the menu was not available because "it's the re-opening of the restaurant after the holiday season". This is so tricky, if it's not available, please indicate at the reservation.
GOOD POINTS
the restaurant is very well located on avenue de montagne. The decoration is beautiful
Disappointing
I had excellent memories of Madrid's Astrid y Gastón, now closed, which I went to several times and always enjoyed a lot. So I had high expectations for Manko, even though the menu hadn't seemed so appealing to me.
I went with my wife and our son. The ambience is fine - good decoration, allusive to Peru without exoticism. Music is the techno that plagues restaurants that want to look "young" and "cool"; luckily it was low.
The service is cordial, but they forgot one of the orders - so, one of the starters arrived after the main course. There was no apology for that.
There is a lack of courtesies, common in restaurants of the same level, such as serving an amuse-bouche or accompanying the coffee with a little sweet.
We ordered two ceviches, which were good but nothing special; and "lomo saltado", also good, but far from memorable. The starter that arrived late was the highlight of the lunch: a tuna tartare, accompanied by two sauces, really delicious and surprising. It's the only reason we've even considered going back to the restaurant.
The wine list is small and overpriced. We paid 55 euros (the cheapest of all) for a bottle of rosé which in other places would cost a maximum of 25.
They avoid serving the free "eau de robinet" that is standard in French restaurants and charge 10 euros for a bottle of Evian. It is best to avoid coffee, which is weak, bad and costs 5 euros.
We were willing to pay an expensive bill to eat well. We pay an expensive bill to eat medium. Not worth it.
