Great flavors
Our first visit was good the food was delicious and presented well but they struggle with the service, the food was not arriving on time at all there was a big gap from one to next plate but overall that is something that can be improved
The flavors were very well combined and you can taste all the spices and the ambiance and the decor were amazing, its very comfortable and casual but very sophisticated
We will be back for sure
Pick any other place!!
We had dinner reservations at 8pm for two. The dinner took 2.5 hours. Our server was good but over worked. They are grossly understaffed.
The bar tender is unfriendly and couldn’t care less for your order. Get this, they charge for ice!! This is Chicago!! There’s always a first for everything.
The chef apparently spent 10 years in India with her partner. She definitely did not learn how to cook Indian.
We did the pre fix menu along with ordering ala carte.
The chicken wings were actually good and that’s where it ends.
The butter chicken was absolutely not butter chicken. They put so much Garam masala making it inedible. The color was completely off and it tasted like tamarind masala if anything. I just can’t believe that there’s a chef out there that would name that dish butter chicken. It is anything but!!
Same issue with the lamb biryani, too much Garam masala.
The salmon tasted good but was over cooked.
The dessert was simply gross. The chocolate ganache does not have words to express it. I’m surprised that this place is still open.
Save 2-3 hours of your life and $200 go to any other Indian restaurant on Devon ave. If you’re looking for better food and ambiance try Gaylord on Walton st.
A fresh, delicious and innovative approach to Indian food
This jewel of a spot in Edgewater always delivers on flavors, unique approaches to Indian food. The chef Marissa puts her heart and soul into her food and it shows on the plate and as you enjoy it. Don't expect Devon avenue curry houses. come here for authentic, modern combinations -- and a hip atmosphere.
Be the first to ReplyFancy restaurant in nice neighborhood
We went to the restaurant with friends. Overall it was nice. It is high priced and in order to justify that they come up with interesting food. But that is only regular. The naan seems not to be self made, big minus on that. The service is kind but they seemed to be distant to the customer.
Be the first to ReplyDon't bother
server very pleasant but they all had to many stations , the food was the most dissapointing, bland and overpriced.Won't be back even though it's only 2 blocks away.
Be the first to Replybeautiful setting but disappointingly slow service and overpriced dishes
The setting is gorgeous, but the food took over 45 minutes to be served. As another reviewer mentioned, the rice came out last, as if they only started cooking it after we ordered. The food was beautiful but the portions so small, and pricey for what they were. The service was indifferent- when we complained about how long the food took, they said they tried to explain the timing with different paragraphs on the menu. Clearly their explanations were unclear as none of the three of us understood that.
Be the first to ReplyGreat location for a party
A friend of mine had a lovely party here. The lunch menu featured beef biryani with various toppings including chili oil, a sweet fruit sauce and shredded chickpeas. At another station were several flatbreads—lamb, butter chicken and eggplant, served on naan. Two delicious desserts were tamarind crème brulee and a chocolate pots de crème along with some jackfruit sweets. The food was yummy, the staff was wonderful, and the restaurant was the perfect place for my friend's celebration. The walls are nicely decorated. I love the colored lights on the way to the rest rooms. But perhaps some oriental rugs on the floor would warm up the main dining area.
Be the first to ReplyBelow our expectations
My wife and I went on a Wednesday evening around 7 p.m. for dinner without reservations. Host was not very welcoming. Atmosphere was very unexciting. Cocktails were not as expected as they were too mild and more salty and sugary. We did not order appetizers. Butter chicken was good as well eggplant vegetable If they are trying to make it fusion Indian food, it did not work. Dessert was good. Certainly not worth the money.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious veggie dinner options.
Great vegetarian and meat based options. Complex and unique flavors, nicely presented in a warm and friendly neighborhood cafe.
Be the first to ReplyNice Interior But Random Food Service
Street parking. Nice interior. Interesting menu of Indian cuisine. However, beware. We were ambushed by the spiciness of the items we ordered; no warning on menu or by waiter. Also items came out in a long string of one at a time. Rice came out last. Nan took much longer than needed to cook it. Full bar. No Wi-Fi.
