My favourite plate is the Lamb and the Tomato caper appetizer! the service is amazing and the place is beautiful. the spanakopita is also amazing.
Be the first to ReplyA Welcome Taste of Authentic Greek
Cannot say enough positive things about our experience. Lovely decor , buzzy vibe, and excellent service. Oh yeh , and food real, real good. A Calamari appetizer in Tomato Caper sauce was exquisite. Perfectly cooked. Main courses were equally delicious. Particularly enjoyed the Lamb Neck with potatoes and Spareribs. Concise but very good wine list. For desert try the Samos Demi Sec. Exquisite. Willd efintely be back.
Be the first to ReplyFirst time at Mamakas
First time trying Mamakas. I had the saganaki - which is fried cheese. This dish consisted of vlahoriti cheese, a dash of honey, thyme and was topped with some pears. For my main course I had the kotopoulo 1/2 roasted brined chicken with roasted cabbage and cremini mushroom. My friend also tried the Liamos Arniou which was the 24 hour roasted lamb neck. Overall, these dishes seem to have a modern twist based on traditional Greek dishes.

Visited on a Wednesday night. Restaurant was busy but service was extremely accommodating. Got the spanakopita to start (delicious) and two shared plates (one lamb, one veggie). Expensive but very tasty would definitely recommend.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food; over priced
We visited mid-week. Relatively quite in early evening and started to get busier as we left. Food was great but overall was expensive. Service was indifferent which was a real surprise based on other restaurants we have eaten at this week.
Be the first to ReplyWORTH NOTHING
* Over salted lamb chops * Poor menu * even wrong uzo glass If you have never been a real Greek restaurant you can give them more star but they worth nothing.
Be the first to ReplyGreat dinner, very tasty
We dined here on a Saturday night for the early seating. The service was very good, as was the food. We had dip, Greek salad, meatballs, calamari and prawn sagnaki. All good was very high quality and delicious. Would recommend coming here, but make sure you book in advance as it was packed. Great vibe also!

Last night was the first time most of us had been to Mamakas and the food was excellent. Charlotte took care of us and she was a fantastic server. She provided honest input when it came to the number of dishes we should order and the dishes we ordered were delicious. These included the meatballs appetizer, Spanakopita, Heirloom Tomato salad, Sea Bass, Lamb chops and green beans side. A bit on the expensive side but every bite was yummy! We'll be back.
Be the first to ReplyRude and arrogant
We booked a reservation on line when the bookings opened up 3 weeks ago - there was no opportunity to select any particular table - and yet when we arrived the only table offered was right beside the kitchen as all other tables were “reserved”. Even when we were prepared to sit on the patio we were told that the tables on the front patio were all reserved. The woman who said that she was a/the manager (not sure if she really was) was condescending and rude. It was clear that she knew it was a busy Saturday night and they didn’t need our business so were indifferent as to whether we were happy and couldn’t have cared less whether we stayed or whether we left the restaurant. The server was nice enough though she kept pushing us to order $160 bottles of wine and any time I suggested something less expensive (around $75-80) she suggested that we wouldn’t enjoy it for one reason or another ( their wine pricing is rather extraordinary considering that all of their wines are Greek and I don’t think there’s a bottle of Greek wine that can be purchased in Ontario for more than about $15). Anyway, the food is tasty though the portions are small and it’s quite pricey for what it is. All in all, it seems like a restaurant that is very impressed with itself and really couldn’t care less about its diners. I’d suggest that people stay away unless you want to spend about $300 per couple and feel that they are doing you a favour by serving you.

Excellent food, service and ambiance. Creative yet authentic Greek food, beautifully plated. Our server was exceptional and we Shazammed the entire playlist. Fabulous place. The grilled octopus was a big hit
