4The service was terrrible. Terrible.I have to disclose that I went with a group of 8 or so people, so maybe they don't like giving service to larger groups? I went on a Friday at ~7pm.I want to keep this brief because I still have angry-residue from when I went last night. But I do not recommend this place solely off of bad service.I'm extra confused because this is a high tourism spot. I didn't realize I should have just gone to the other farm-to-table spot around the corner. 30 minutes to get water or any type of service interaction. Had to ask another waiter for our waiter just to get initial service. Another 15 minutes to get our food order in. Some food came before cocktails which is not, not normal in a busy spot. However it took soo long (to pour rose) that a few people just went to the bar & ordered directly. PS they got their drink immediately. 3x+ when they mistakenly served food to us that no one ordered + drinks Was told prior to the reservation that they can split bills among 8 people. Told at the restaurant it's a max of 4 cards. The bowl you see pictured was titled Salmon Poke Bowl ($31). Why add poke if it's not poke. Just call it Salmon & Rice. It was still good & very fresh, but why call it a poke bowl? One of our friends came late & the manager ended up serving her a drink to get faster service. When asked to get her roasted potatoes thinking it would be fast, he responded "I can't promise that will be quick." I do respect the transparency because this is the first time after 2 hours we've actually gotten clear communication. But bro, these are a SIDE of potatoes. I don't understand. Asked 3x separately people including the manager, where my dessert was - and no one came back with information. Someone could have at least came back and lied to say "Oh they're making it now". I would have accepted a lie vs getting ghosted by 3 separate people that work there. Someone had to have realized that we were getting the worst service because there were many items off of our receipt. Which like thanks? But no one, not even the manager was like "Hey, we've been really busy. Sorry you're not getting the best service, we're going to comp xyz. Etc". Nothing. The lack of accountability for a $30 menu items is ridiculous. In a tourist spot, no less! I'm not saying I would have accepted this in West Village or SoHo, but you should be used to this foot traffic & know how hospitality works.

Customary, organic American food with straight forward but somewhat unusual dishes that are saved by the beautiful Brooklyn bridge/Pier 17 view it gives. $19 a dish. 3.25/5 stars as a lunch spot.

Originally located on the pier in Malibu beach, this Californian farm to table restaurant has landed in a swanky new building on the East River in FiDi. While the variety and service remain quite good, I was a little disappointed in the overall experience, having tried the original location. The burger was not very hot and the patty is quite small. I did like the salad and the burrata cheese, but the nachos were not very evenly made. We requested chicken with the nachos, there may have been a misunderstanding but the chicken was served on the side rather than in the actual nachos. Prices are very high, I would not say this place is great value for the money.

The view is absolutely amazing !! Sitting in the covered outside patio really made it a great experience. The service was fast and efficient. The scrambled egg was simple but a great safe choice with the eggs being cooked perfectly creamy and the bacon being is crispy almost caramelized . The egg sandwich was amazing and Greta portion with broccoli mash and fresh greens . The French toast was very sweet of you love that then that's for you with a strong coconut flavor. Now the star of the show was the crab cake probably one of the best crab cakes I've had ! The drinks were great , strong cappuccino and so creamy, the star of the drinks was the ginger margarita ! A must try for brunch in the area.

Portions are small and super exp. $48 for 6 oz or 8 oz flank steak!! Seriously!!?? I can get a bone in rib eye at smith and Wo for $78. $20 for nachos!?! Lordy!! Our server was ditzy as hell. Asked for bread and butter twice and never got it. Asked for certain sauces that we never got either. For a $460 tab, I expect a lot more. Left hungry, unsatisfied and out $460. Never again!!

Came here with my gal friends for Saturday brunch! Trendy, Cali vibes as soon as you walk in--we also arrived early for our reservation and the hostess was sweet enough to seat us early. We ordered the Local Burrata as an appetizer and it was DELISH. I didn't like that our cocktails came after we got the burrata, which was a bummer because they were delicious and would've tasted great with it. I loved my entree, the "Pytti Panna" hash--Smoked salmon was the highlight. My friend's Shakshuka was also delicious. Only complaint about this restaurant is that the service was not good. Besides getting our drinks after the appetizer, our waiter didn't check on us throughout the meal and forgot to refill our waters after we asked :/ definitely come here with friends for great food/drinks who don't care too much about service :D I would probably come back.

Fast service. Great tasting food! Keep up the great. Love the grilled chicken taco's
Be the first to ReplyI'll start with the ambiance - 5 stars.
Spacious, and beautifully arranged furniture. A fresh modern look, a very chic feel. I love when a restaurant doesn't crowd tables into every square inch of the space, and this one doesn't do that. The service gets 3 stars. The servers were a bit short with us, I would have appreciated more time and check in. The food came out a bit cold and not all together (I was in a party of 6 for lunch). And it was a rainy afternoon, so the place was by no means crowded - I think we were one of two parties present. The food was the worst of it and what earns my two star review. At this price point ($30-$50 per entree at LUNCH) I would expect nothing short of perfection, especially for a menu with such ordinary selections. I ordered the ceviche in coconut sauce for an appetizer. The coconut flavor was nice but the ceviche itself was not tangy enough, and was a bit fishy, so I was put off by this dish. For my entree I ordered the ahi pan seared chicken. I was expecting a piece of succulent juicy chicken with lots of delicious flavor, what I got was a dry and room temperature chicken quarter, completely unseasoned and flavorless. I will say the ahi sauce and squash side were the stars of the dish, but the chicken left much to be desired. Since this was a work lunch I asked for an Arnold Palmer and it was sickeningly sweet, but the server didn't really come back around with enough time for me to ask to change the drink. It tasted like it was made with Minute Maid lemonade and Lipton sweet iced tea powder. I wouldn't come here again to spend $60 on a sober lunch.
Be the first to ReplyI had a solo dinner for NYC Restaurant Week.
Service was great, portions were huge that I took half of my entree home. Appetizer: Helene's Long Island Fluke Ceviche This dish was deceivingly filling and definitely worth getting. The tortilla chips were baked and warm. Entree: Seared Faroe Island SalmonThis dish was surprisingly huge, especially after devouring the appetizer. I only ate half and took the rest home. Dessert: Chocolate CakePerfect way to end my dining experience. If I had finished my entree, I would not have made it to this Melt in your mouth cake. My meal was paired with Massey Docta, Marlborough, NZ Sauvignon Blanc 2021.

After my previous review I received this reply from the business owner Keith W.: "11/29/2022 Hello Vitaly, Allow us to take a closer look at this for you. Please contact us at <a href="mailto:info@malibufarm.nyc">info@malibufarm.nyc</a>"I sent my email on the same date but didn't receive any respond. So I thing would be fair to post it here since it is a clear description of how our experience at the restaurant was."Hi, Keith.First of all, yes, I would love to find out why the neat shot of whisky costs more than a shot with ice.I am sure you understand that the $2 difference in the $1000 check is absolutely nothing and no one cares about it. It's just funny.Secondly, while our email is not public, I'd like to tell you more about our experience. I hate leaving bad reviews on Yelp and that's why I didn't write a few things.1. Our server Aurora had a huge dirty spot right in the middle of the shirt. It looked disgusting.2. A guy who was bringing food to our table handled it very strangely. He was screaming the name of the dish and was simply putting it on the table regardless of who ordered it.3. For some strange reason we got just a few of the ordered deserts. After waiting about 10 minutes we asked our server and then received another half. But it wasn't something that had to be made. It was ice cream scoopsAnd as I already mentioned in my review :4. To get an additional bottle of sparkling water was mission impossible. We had to ask our server 3-4 times.Hopefully my email will help you to fix these things. And in any case - all the best to you and your restaurant.Vitaly"

I've been to Malibu Farm multiple times with my family and have always really enjoyed myself. ย However, when asked if they would donate a gift card, meal etc to help support their neighborhood public school's fundraising auction I was dismissed and ignored when I tried to follow up. ย Sadly, I will now bring my business to one of the other many local restaurants who did generously donate to this cause.
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced & underwhelming.
The environment is cute- tables outside and inside (including at the bar), and beautiful views (if the weather is nice enough to sit outside). But did not find the menu to be appealing (guess I should have glanced at it before I went). I ended up only ordering the hummus- which I had to pay extra for the pita bread (only comes with a couple veggies, not even enough for dipping- edamame, a carrot stick, and a few tiny tomatoes). I've had MUCH better food at other "farm to table" restaurants. Not sure why people love it, but would not return.

Be the first to ReplyI just love Malibu Farm.
They could do no wrong. I have been here about 10 times for dinner, brunch & events. Consistency! Amazing atmosphere, music, decor & service. Food is phenomenal. Great quality & portions. Drinks are great. Try everything! Today I went we went with our usual nachos & crab cake. Also tried the fish & the shrimp tacos. Everything was delicious. Our drink of choice was their patron Paloma which I definitely recommend. Malibu's staff is amazing, best I have encountered in the city from hostess, server to chef. Milton was spectacular. Kind, attentive, friendly & Knowledgeable. & he got me the last nachos so now holds a place in my heart lol

Cannot say enough good things about this place!!! Right from the get go, Emma the hostess was so friendly and accommodating so we knew we were gonna have a great experience here. We had to wait about 15 min so for a table but we didn't mind at all, the view around here of the Brooklyn bridge was beautiful! My husband wanted to sit outside to further enjoy the view and cool air (brrrrr) so Emma got us settled out there and lucky for me, there were heaters (phew!!). ย Harley was our server and she was friendly just like Emma! We actually ordered some of Emma and Harley's favorites (Cauliflower pizza, avocado huarache, butternut squash soup) and they were all on point! We also got the burrata and since it was taco Tuesday, the taco trio! Kirby, who was the manager, even came to check on us and welcome us to the restaurant. Talk about amazing service. He was so personable and we were just really enjoying the our time here and we hadn't even gotten our food yet! Even the guys who came to bring us our food were super nice. Everything we had was SO good. My 9 year old ended up eating almost the entire burrata by himself. My fave was the cauliflower pizza and my husband loved the avocado huarache. Everything was so tasty and so fresh! Needless to say, there was barely a crumb left on any of our plates. And we stilllllll had room for dessert. My son was thinking about the passion fruit cheesecake and when we asked Harley what her fave dessert was, guess what she said!? Passion fruit cheesecake! We ordered that and it was probably one of the best cheesecakes we've ever had. Even my husband, not a big cheesecake lover, really enjoyed this one. The passion fruit sauce was nice and tart and oh so delicious. This was definitely an amazing place to eat. Service, atmosphere, views, food, all incredible. Put this place on your to-go list if you're in the seaport area, you won't regret it!

..Impeccable. The vibes, the food, the view. All of it was amazing. I went to an early dinner here (at 5:30) last night and it was a great experience. I came with a friend and we had a reservation for outdoor seating but when we got there, we realized how cold it was and asked if it was possible to sit indoor and they were very accommodating and allowed us to do so. Our table had a direct view of the Brooklyn Bridge and as it went from light to sunset to dark during our dinner, it felt like there was a new view every time we looked outside. The inside was very light and was decorated beautifully. For dinner, my friend I split two flatbreads and nachos. The first flatbread was caprese and the second was ย fig and prosciutto. Both were delicious. My favorite part was that the sauce had a little kick of spice which just made the flavor come alive in your mouth. We did not get any drinks, as my friend and I are under 21, but the table next to us ordered drinks and just visually, they looked really pretty (though I can't speak on taste). Malibu Farm is a great place to go for a more upscale dinner and the restaurant has much to offer, even beyond just the food! I'm excited to go back in the future!
