Superb food and service.
I like their old place in Beverly Blvd., better, but they are great..I highly recommend this restaurant for authentic Italian food..
Be the first to ReplyMadeo is located in the 1 Hotel on Sunset.
For convenience we valeted and kept our tickets for validation. We came in a group for a birthday so we had a reservation and were seated promptly but they didn't have any inside seating available but at least they had heat lamps for the cold February weather. The service was not bad but nothing amazing and (I believe it was) the owner came out and greeted the guests. Most of the group got the bolognese or the lasagne and the flavors were really good but the portions were a bit small, especially for the price. The ambiance was nice and the quality of the food seemed good but it was a bit pricy and I wasn't blown away by anything.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food but always late on the reservation.
When you ask how much longer, they gaslight you into thinking you're about to be seated. Next thing you know 30-45 minutes goes by.
Be the first to ReplyMadeo is a pleasant surprise to many who will come across
Madeo is a pleasant surprise to many who will come across it by accident. It is an unassuming but eloquent restaurant tucked away to a side of WeHo that doesn't get the regular foot traffic. You get older clientele who don't want you to let the word out, and if you do, you're getting Gen Z all over this joint that'll be using words like "bet" and "fire" more than you'd want. Ravioli Vitello - holy hell this was amazing. I think this was the best ravioli I've ever had in all of Los Angeles. The scratch-made pasta was better than anything I would have expected because of the texture and booming pumpkin flavor bursting out of each bite. It wasn't the company that made this meal great as much this strikingly beautiful and simple pasta. I would get this for the rest of my life.

My boyfriend and I stayed at 1 Hotel in West Hollywood two weekends ago, the service and ambiance there was amazing. Upon returning from a show at The Comedy Store, we stopped in Pink Dot to get tampons since Mother Nature made a surprise visit during our trip. Then we went across to Madeo's to check out the bar scene (this restaurant was attached to our hotel). We walked in and the manager stopped us immediately like we didn't belong there, we told him we just wanted to take a look, but he preceded to grab the plastic bag I had in my hand, which had the tampons in it. Told us I had to leave the bag there because it didn't 'look good'. I was extremely shocked and never once in my life have been so embarrassed. Shame on you Madeo's, How inconsiderate and rude!

Food and service was great, and the ambience of the new location was definitely a step up from the previous location. Will definitely go back!

Oh, how the mighty fall, especially when connected to 1 Hotel. The end is in sight guys, even if it's crowded with lookers, when you can't serve the table. The food itself is very good, not the best, but serviceably good. But not at these prices with lousy service. Goodnight, and good luck, Madeo.
Be the first to ReplyMadeo is one of the top three best Italian restaurants in
Madeo is one of the top three best Italian restaurants in Los Angeles. It is extremely delicious, the service is fantastic, the menu options are almost unbeatable, and the ambience is really upscale and beautifully designed. It's located up on West Sunset Blvd which is one of the busiest parts of LA, but they do offer valet parking for $22 with validation or you can park across the street in one of the pay lots, or if you are lucky enough to find a rare street parking spot. It's very large, bright, and open on the inside with indoor and outdoor seating available, plus a very large bar near the entrance. The service was one of the best that I've had in town, and I go out to a new restaurant every single weekend in LA for years in a row. We were checked in on many times by our server, the owner himself who was very polite, and multiple different bus boys. We were impressed at how good the service was. Our drink refills came out extremely fast, and so did the food. This is the sort of place that you could potentially see a celebrity whether from entertainment or business but it is also a great place for a date, work dinner, or a dinner with friends or family. I will admit that it is a bit expensive, but the meal will be worth it. They have a lot of options on their menu that are very traditional and things that I have not seen since I was last in Italy. Being half Italian myself, I am extremely partial to good or bad Italian food, and can confidently say this is some great Italian cuisine. We started off with the Bresaola special and the Beef Carpaccio. Both have been two of my favorite appetizers since I was a kid, so it was great to have their version of them. The portion size was fair and the flavors were really strong and exactly what I hoped for. For my entrée, I chose the Milanese, which is basically pounded veal, and then breaded. I have had other versions in the US, but none of them as good as what I had when I was last in Milan. This one is a very close comparison to that; it was extremely authentic, and even though very thin, it was still very juicy. Honestly the best Milanese that I've had in the United States. For dessert we had the Vanilla and Raspberry Panna Cotta with a cappuccino and it was a fantastic end to a fantastic meal. The dessert was sweet, but not overly so, and the cappuccino was strong, just how I like it. The only downside is you pretty much have to do valet parking for $22 being that it is located on the bottom floor of a hotel, but this is the sort of place that will not disappoint, and will impress any diner that you bring to it. It's certainly a great celebratory option, or the sort of place where you want to have a guaranteed delicious dinner. I plan to be back in the near future and can comfortably can say it's in my top three favorite LA Italian restaurants.

I usually leave long reviews, but in this case there is nothing more needed to say.

The place was buzzing with great energy. Chef Nicola and the entire staff were hospitable and welcoming. Even the dad stopped by to check on us. Great job on the food. Had the penne Madeo and the branzino. The napoleon is to die for.Well done Madeo team.

Be the first to ReplyCame here on a date, who swears that Madeo's is the best
Came here on a date, who swears that Madeo's is the best traditional Italian. I've lived in SoCal for over a year and have never heard of this place. It's pretty hard to get a reservation here but it's possible or you can wait for bar seating. It's located next to the 1 West Hollywood hotel, which has really good drinks if you want to go there before dinner. The owner was a sweet old Italian man, who said hello to us from the other side of the bar. You don't see many owners do that anymore. What we ordered:- margherita pizza (off the menu) - ricotta ravioli- spaghetti bolognese (was my favorite) - branzino - strawberry dessert Pasta was el dente and tasted perfect, very good traditional Italian food.
Be the first to ReplyMadeo is absolutely exceptional.
I miss the old location and the iconic rooms, but the new location in the hotel is stunning, especially if you're seated outside. The food is always outstanding and the servers are great. The owner, Alfio, will walk around to all the tables to make sure everything is alright every time I've gone. Highly recommend!

Just went to Madeo since it moved to West Hollywood on sunset Blvd. the new place is so much nicer thank the Beverly Hills location. It's bigger and more of a scene. Food is still amazing. I had the truffle pasta and the bolognese. We tried all the pastas but the truffle and bolognese was the best! Still craving it!
Be the first to ReplyAlfio is the soul of the place.
Alfio thanks for making this dinner so special and for being so nice. You are welcomed like a close friend, the service is excellent, the food is great and the place is beautiful.
Be the first to ReplyA little pricey but worth it.
The location is excellent and it is fine dining. The pasta was cooked to perfection. Taste was fantastic in all ways. Just a great LA Italian restaurant.

Be the first to ReplyIf you're looking for a classic Italian dining experience,
If you're looking for a classic Italian dining experience, look no further than Madeo. I recently had the pleasure of dining there and was thoroughly impressed with both the food and the atmosphere.I started with the meatballs, and they were incredible. The texture was perfect, and the flavor was out of this world. The bolognese sauce was rich and savory, with just the right amount of spice to give it a bit of a kick. And the steak was cooked to perfection, with a delicious sear on the outside and tender, juicy meat on the inside. The portions were generous, and everything was perfectly seasoned. The presentation was also beautiful, with each dish looking as good as it tasted. The attention to detail was evident, and the quality of the ingredients was top-notch.The atmosphere of the restaurant was also very inviting, with a classic Italian decor that made me feel as though I was dining in a small village in Italy. The lighting was warm and inviting, and the service was exceptional. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, making great recommendations for our meal.Overall, my experience at Madeo was nothing short of excellent. The food was amazing, and the atmosphere was perfect for a classic Italian dining experience. If you're looking for a restaurant that offers delicious, authentic Italian food in a cozy and welcoming environment, Madeo is definitely worth a visit.
Be the first to ReplyThe new location has a nice ambiance.
The food was disappointing though. All dishes were mediocre at best.
Be the first to ReplyAs a long term customer of the two previous locations I was
As a long term customer of the two previous locations I was looking forward to the reopening. It was not meant to be. They do not take reservations on Open Table. I called and left a message two consecutive days and never got a response even though I specifically asked on the second call to confirm one way or another. When I got there their was no reservation. I told the arrogant prick up front that I had called the two previous days. He told me that was impossible since they're not open during the day. It's really not a good idea to call your customers liars. I informed him that they do have a answering machine. He replied that leaving a message doesn't guarantee anything. When I asked why no one bothered to return my call he started giving me a song and dance about reopening and not enough staff. If they're not fully capable of handling business they shouldn't have reopened. Madeo has always been known for exceptional service and hospitality. What the hell has happened to them? Treating customers like shit is not a good long term strategy for a business.
Be the first to ReplyAuthentic Italian restaurant.
Owner checked in on us frequently and made sure everything was good. My spaghetti vongole was superb and the dessert we had was so amazing. Walked in on a Thursday night and was sat right away, but I was there 15mins before it opened. Parking is valet. Amazing time here that's for sure!
Be the first to ReplyMy family went for dinner Thursday July 28.
The four of us who had linguini and clam sauce got food poisoning. My niece, my daughter, my granddaughter and myself got very sick that night, until the next day.The restaurant does not have a person answering the phone. When you call there is a recording to leave a message for reservations. I called several times and left messages as did my niece. No call back. We were supposed to go home to Florida today and had to cancel our flights. My daughter fainted this morning as she was dehydrated from being sick. I used to love this restaurant, and we always went there when it was in the old location. I will never go back. Let me add that they called me back and wanted to know how I knew it was the clams and I answered if the 4 of us met for dinner, as I was visiting my family and we loved this restaurant, and the 4 of us had linguini with clam sauce and became ill right afterwards, that's how we knew it was the clams. At first he said he wanted credit card info to refund the dinner, which I was nice enough to agree to as flights were canceled and we would have to stay another day in our hotel, and my daughter, who is still sick is getting an IV because she's dehydrated which is costly. Then he started saying if everyone was sick why wouldn't we go to the hospital and became very rude and told me he was calling his lawyer. I am so angry and upset that this is being handled this way. The refund and a better attitude, considering 4 of us were so sick right after eating, would have been greatly appreciated and I would have deleted my negative review.. Today is Monday and we are back in Florida after a difficult flight because my daughter was still sick. She is in the doctor's office right now . That's how sick she still is. I received an email from Sebastien the manager (also cc to his lawyer and one of the owners), asking for medical bills, receipts etc and still insisting that it wasn't from his restaurant. It's difficult to believe how a successful business handled this situation. Instead of saying, these things happen, I'm terribly sorry, and I will refund your dinner, I am dealing with an insensitive, rude person. I wonder if anyone else got sick that night. My daughter is waiting for her test results from the doctor and still sick. I've already been in contact with Foodbourne Illnesses Health Dept. L.A.
