Friendly and relaxed restaurant with delicious food
We had a delicious family lunch including a well-behaved 3 year old. Wonderful service and delicious Italian food. It is a lovely restaurant and I can't believe it has taken me so long to find it! Thank you Lucio and family!

We generally go here but this time when we went it was unacceptable. The waiter messed up our orders meaning that when we discussed it with them they brought over Lucio who then gave us the ingredient with a huff and a puff. Not acceptable other than that it was great. Go but be careful
Be the first to ReplyLucio's: why did I wait so long to eat there?
I'M NOT SURE why it took me 19 years to visit Lucio's restaurant on London's Fulham Road in Chelsea? Maybe it was because I used to think it was out of reach when occasionally seeing Chelsea FC managers and players alike arriving and leaving. Lucio's is a family-run business created by Lucio Altana. He was the manager of San Lorenzo in the heady days when it was one of the favourite London restaurants often visited by a plethora of celebrities. Iconic photographs taken by the British photographer Terry O'Neill adorn the walls of the horseshoe-shaped dining room. The menu is centred around classic Italian staples using the best fresh local produce and Italian suppliers for authentic flavours. The wine list was reasonable and varied with a wide price band and choice. I'm always impressed when you ask for a wine recommendation, and not only is it delicious, it was at a reasonable price point, so you don't feel they are taking advantage of you. And yes, a light red wine goes very well with fish. The service provided by Lucio and his two sons is knowledgeable and polite, which provides a personal touch. I arrived early and had a choice of tables, choosing to sit in the inside room with a view of fellow diners, many of whom gave the impression of being regulars with their usual table. Surely a sign of a great restaurant to be able to retain guests and keep them coming back again and again. Excellent food and an ever-changing menu. I will certainly be returning.

After Lucio's several times for my boss, I was lucky enough to be invited out for lunch today and now I see what all the fuss is about! The food was lovely, the service was lovely, the ambiance was lovely. I will definitely come back again!
Be the first to ReplyWonderful Italian neighbourhood restaurant
Lucio runs this place with his two wonderful sons, Dario and Mirco, so well, the staff are friendly and most knowledgeable - this is one big family, giving excellent food and providing a lovely atmosphere. Have been coming here for years, every time it is consistently the same cheerful place… Long may this continue, well done.
Be the first to ReplyConsistently great food
Lucio has built a following of loyal customers since opening this restaurant nearly 20 years ago. The food is consistently excellent, with a menu that offers variety and changes every season as well as creative daily specials based on what Lucio can find fresh each morning.
The service is overseen by Lucio and his two sons, and you can rely on them to be knowledgeable and responsive. It is true that the busboys can struggle at times, but many restaurants in London now find it difficult to recruit the right waitstaff and Lucio’s advantage is that he and sons are outstanding at providing a personal touch.
The wine list is extensive and has some good value wines alongside the expected expensive ones. Also, lunch is great value with a set price menu and the same excellent food.
A visit to Lucio transports you to a great family restaurant in Italy, and his repeat clientele (many sophisticated Europeans who live nearby in Chelsea) clearly agree. This really is one of the best.
As good as usual (and as it gets)
Brilliant as always, simple and excellent food as you get it in Italy, with attentive service. The quality of service and products is constant, which is key when you bring good friends or business contacts.

Recently spent a couple of hours at Lucio on the Fulham Road and enjoyed a delightful meal. Started with Italian vegetable soup and bread, delicious. Next Sea bream with spinach also very tasty. A nice bottle of wine to help it along and with the excellent attentive staff a delightful lunch experience.

Popped in for lunch with my wife and daughter. Set price lunch menu was really very good in terms of choice, taste and value. Accompanying drinks were a bit pricey. Service was good and will definitely return.

The best neighbourhood Italian for a long way, excellent fresh food, no fuss, nice and clean and healthy. The owner Lucio and his boys Dariu and Mirco are there too... Familiar, local, nice area, and friendly service.. Can’t ask for much more...
