I love Lucha Libre!!! It's one of my must go places when visiting San Diego because the food is so fire. I usually get the steak California Burrito with the $3 option to add two small sides. You can choose between TJ corn, rice, refried beans, and black beans all of which are good. Their tacos are super yummy too! Lucha Libre also has a sauce bar with literally the best sauces. The avocado cilantro cream sauce is insanely good and I usually add it to the inside of my burrito. The seating area is decorated to match the Lucha Libre theme giving the restaurant a super fun vibe. The staff goes out of their way to make sure you are having a good experience and the bathroom is kept impeccably clean. Like it's rare to use a public bathroom that somehow manages to actually smell good. Do yourself a favor and come here if you're craving some good Mexican food :)

My coworkers told me to stop by to this place if ever im in town so i did and wow the ado-haba pina tacos was the best for me. They do have some variety of salsa for the chips and their mango drink was tasty. The staff was nice and gave us recommendation plus the place is clean. Try them

San Diego has some of the best Mexican food in the country which means it is super competitive. I've had lucha libre bookmarked for years and finally got to try it. If this place was anywhere else it would be a 4 or 5, but in SD it's a 3 for me. Giving a 4 star rating though because the service was really good and the inside ambiance is exactly what I wanted. The California Surfin burrito was delicious, but the salsas though good were not special & didn't bring out the flavors of the burrito. Would I go again? Probably not.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic food.
Loved the different taco/burrito types. I had a bulgogi burrito & it was great. The restaurant itself has a lot of character. Only drawback is the parking - which if you go during a busy time, could be stressful.

I've never gone to the actual restaurant but my fiancรฉ has and says the sauce bar is great because we both loooove the cilantro cream sauce that comes with it. We stack up on it because it's that good and ADDICTING. Fiancรฉ said service is chill and fast and the ambiance is your typical taco/burrito restaurant. I got the surf and turf and flavor wise, this place is always on point. My favorite is the shrimp meat in this burrito. You can tell it's actually grilled on a stove and really fresh and not overcooked and chewy. Sometimes for the steak I can't say the same because it can be tough and pretty dry. Overall great place for a flavorful burrito that's not chipotle! I'd gladly come here again.
Be the first to ReplyHonestly best california surfin burrito ive ever had.
I love it so much , i think about it everyday w their chipotle and red and green salsa.
Be the first to ReplyNot my favorite, but also not my least favorite.
I truly want to love it, but with so many great options in San Diego, I feel like the quality could be a bit better in the tortillas, the salsas are great and honestly what keeps me coming back, service isn't too fast, but is ok for a quick pick up for a late night eat.

I'd recommend not coming here on a week day within 2hrs of closing time. I came in at 8:55pm on a Monday and the overwhelming vibe was incredibly unwelcoming. Super awkward. I asked "are you still open?", the lady shook her head in a yes motion without even making eye contact with me. They didn't give me the option of eating there even though they were still open for another hour. I arrived home less than 10min after purchasing 2 burritos for $35. Both were cold. Straight up trash. Ownership if you read this review either give your employees a raise, or fire their asses and hire people who actually give a shxt. Would not recommend.

Hmm seafood burritos were great! Surf n turf, beef was dry so felt kinda chalky and seasoning was strong. Surfing California, beef was dry with the fries made it more dry. All the decor was fun, salsas were great and loved the free chips.

Place is great!! The last time I went here they had a huge ring where you can eat , but since the new renovation the ring is o long there, however the place is still worthy of trying out, they food is amazing, large portion and service is great!

We couldn't stop looking at it and it also made us smile/laugh. We loved the beef brisket taco, if you like spice you have to try it! Surf n turf taco was also good. I would definitely come back!
Be the first to ReplyThey have deals everyday and I love their sauces.
Food was good but could be better. Park next to the liquor store next door!
Be the first to ReplyGot the champion Fries with steak.
It was loaded, flavorful, and fresh. Our order was completed exactly as requested with extras on the side. We ordered a bag of chips that were very good, but could've been a bit more fresh. We ordered online and everything was ready when we arrived. Easy navigable menu and interior was simple and fun! Loved it! Will definitely come back if we're craving loaded fries.

Nooooooo, free chips had a plastic old oil taste, we had a California burrito, quesadilla, and some Birria tacos...... all of it was meh...... just something about the food tasted 1 days old food , super greasy,
Be the first to ReplyCalifornia burito mostly fries and tortilla.
I regret tipping. $16 for burrito plus $3 tip which added up to $19. I regret tipping.

Loved the surf and turf taco and the ado haba taco! Shrimp was fresh, meat was flavorful, taco shell was warmed and soaked in the sauce. We also got complimentary chips for every order. Make sure to load up on the spicy salsa and the cilantro crema! Super yum. Service was fast, the place had fun decor too. It was pretty packed inside so we sat outdoors. There's street parking and a complex next to the restaurant that you can park in. Went on a Saturday night but we were still able to get a spot pretty easily.
Be the first to ReplyIf you're looking for some of the best California burritos
If you're looking for some of the best California burritos in San Diego, Lucha Libre is a must-visit spot. I used to frequent this place before the pandemic, and I must say, their surfin' California burrito is an absolute delight! The combination of shrimp, carne asada, and fries is a match made in heaven. I was first introduced to this burrito on an episode of Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives, and it did not disappoint. One thing I appreciate about Lucha Libre is that each burrito comes with chips, which is great because their salsa bar is expansive. I highly recommend trying their cream cilantro salsa, which is my absolute favorite. Their mango salsa is a close runner-up and is equally delicious.Even though I haven't been to Lucha Libre in recent years, I used to make it a point to visit every time I came to San Diego. However, I have heard that the quality has gone down a bit, but I cannot confirm this firsthand. Nonetheless, I am looking forward to trying it out again soon when I have the chance.Overall, Lucha Libre is a fantastic place to satisfy your Mexican food cravings, and their burritos are definitely worth trying out!
Be the first to ReplyWhat the hell happened to this place.
It's been years since I visited and the burrito here was the bomb. Now it's below chipotle quality. Things were good while the good lasted but sadly I'm breaking up with my old sweetheart.

So lucky to have stumbled upon this spot! I got the ADO-HABA PIรA CALIFORNIA burrito and it was one of the most uniquely delicious burritos I've ever had! The pork adobada was seasoned extremely well, the habanero provided spicy heat, and the pineapple provided the perfect sweet contrast. The fries provided a welcomed new texture which made every bite flavorful and refreshing. There is a self-serve salsa bar on the side - double (or even triple) up on the cilantro crema.. sooo good. The size of the burrito was excellent. I only ate about 2/3 on a completely empty stomach, and it was great reheated the next day. The free side bag of chips was a great surprise! There's a cute patio in the front and ample seating inside. It's located on a busy street near the freeway - you might be able to snag a street parking spot out front, or definitely can in the nearby neighborhoods. Excited to come back next time I'm in town!
