Little Social London Reviews from The Last Year
A Hidden Gem!
We came here for a pre theatre supper and so glad we did. From the second I walked through the door I was greeted by such friendly staff, they were attentive but not overbearing, chatty, professional and quite frankly amazing. I have to mention Matt who looked after us at our table, what a guy, so many positive adjectives to describe him they wouldn't fit on the review, he's a real asset to the restaurant so a big thank you again from us both Matt! The food! We had the fixed menu, which was divine. Perfect sized portions, a real treat for the taste buds. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough and thanks again to the amazing team ❤️
Poor experience, would not recommend
Poor service: waiter mixed up our food, only realised when we were half way through; the food itself was below average; restaurant was very noisy, can't have a normal conversation; no service or WiFi inside. Pretty terrible experience.
Excellent set lunch
Very good set lunch menu, starters good, excellent burger and steak frites. Lovely Eton mess, good value for money. Second visit.
Nutmegged
First visit, selected and booked by my wife and thoroughly enjoyed by the both of us. From walking through the door, to having to leave for the theatre, everything was perfect. I haven't been to a restaurant and enjoyed good food and service, and felt so relaxed in a long while. I chose the Burrata to start , with fishcake for mains and Nutmeg Custard tart. Every course was simply delightful, we have re-booked for April, can't wait.
Fantastic food, very relaxed atmosphere
I can't understand the negative reviews for this restaurant. I had lunch here with my wife, we've been quite a few times over recent years and the quality has always been excellent. The waiting staff are always there to give advise on the food or wine. I started with the fried calf's tongue, followed by slow cooked sucking pig, my wife started with beetroot followed by the plaice, we both finished off with sticky toffee pudding, as a little extra we were given a slice of custard tart, which was a lovely touch. The quality of the cooking and produce was excellent, every dish was a hit. What I also like about this restaurant is the price of wine, Little Social have wine from £30 - £150 a bottle, something for all budgets which is excellent for a restaurant like this.
Greeted like regulars on our first visit 💖
I took my 83 year old Mummy for a pre-theatre meal here yesterday and in our eagerness to be on time, we arrived way too early!! However, we were welcomed in and made to feel relaxed and not in the way at all. All the staff (although preparing for evening service) were so friendly and chatty, we passed the time with a carafe of delicious Italian white wine while mulling over the menu 😊 We chose from the fixed price menu and it was absolutely fantastic! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place for their quality food and wine, but over that, the care and attention the guys here paid to us for 2 hours. They helped us order an Uber and made sure we were at our Theatre in plenty of time. Thank you all!!! We will be back again and I’ve told all my friends. 10/10
Great food, attentive service, welcoming
Saturday pre-existing theatre supper. A warm & friendly welcome, attentive service, good atmosphere. Interesting menu, superb food (I had the Cornish crab salad then cod, my wife had salmon with avocado creme fraiche then steak) all perfectly cooked & beautifully presented. The selection of cheeses was excellent, as was the prune & armagnac meringue. A fair price, taking everything into account, and we'll happily go back
Understaffed, Average Food
Such a disappointing evening - and we weren't the only ones. Food took forever to come out, and when it did the food was cold and had to be sent back to the kitchen. Pork chop was overcooked / chewy and the mash was stone cold, Beef casserole was so salty it was inedible, burger was raw (not under, RAW), creme brulee was undercooked and had a burnt top. A couple of the younger staff were rude, and grunted at when we asked if we could have our wine topped up. We ended up asking for the bottles to just be left on the table. One server was having an argument with another member of staff by the bar in the middle of service. Manager was no where to be seen. Staff were clearly untrained, under resourced and under supported. Its one thing for our table to have a bad experience, but we heard 3 other tables ask for the service charge to be removed from the bill. We also asked for this, especially when we found out the servers don't event get the service charge! at £100 pp (that's without the service charge and the desserts were comped) there are FAR better places to go near here. Don't waste your money.
Ordinary cafe at high end restaurant prices
Its first and lasting impression is that it is cafe environment with minimal fixtures .The food was uninspiring to say the least and embarrassingly my guest ordered pasta with mushrooms and could only find one mushroom in the sauce. Needless to say it was tasteless . He should have sent it back . My sea bass was small and balanced on a pile of potatoes and other veg and thus unremarkable .We shared a sticky toffee pudding which was below average in both size and flavour Sadly despite the reputation we shall never be going back .
Perfect menu for a pre concert meal
We went for a pre concert meal so arrived early at 6.15pm and the place was quiet but the staff were welcoming and attentive. The pre-theatre menu was perfect and the choice of gluten free items was good (I have coeliac disease). The waiter was reassuring checking what I had chosen was gluten free. Everything was delicious and we both enjoyed our meal.

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
