Adding a 20% service charge to a takeout order is ridiculous. Especially for just ok pizza. There are other places in Carpinteria where we can spend our hard-earned dough.

Absolutely ridiculous they charge an "insurance" fee that they surprise you with at the end of your bill. Just raise the prices instead of price gouging. Customers hate this.
Be the first to ReplyWhat a great find in Carpinteria a unique menu good service
What a great find in Carpinteria a unique menu good service clean. I was very impressed. Not many restaurants have white linen napkins for lunch and breakfast. My husband was crazy about the pickled tomatoes on his meatball sandwich. I forgot to ask if they sell them we will definitely visit this restaurant again.

Terrible service, we made a reservation inside, but once we were there they told us that we had made it outside which I didn't, I even showed them the reservation in Resy to no avail , the lady just said that we had made it outside and that we were lucky since they had a cancellation, she made us feel not welcome at all, we were seated in a makeshift table next to the bar, if that would be the whole issue I would had let it go, but the food was also terrible, my wife ordered the wood oven roasted fish which was bland and over cooked, and I ordered the smoked tenderloin which was completely hidden on all the arugula salad and cold, The only bright spots were the appetizers

I was in a group of 7 people for happy hour, 5 of my group arrived and were seated outside, they ordered food and drinks in order to get happy hour prices. They were given a separate bill with a charge of $17 for use of a large table. The remaining 2 people were seated at the same table, 10 minutes after happy hour was over, and placed an order for food and drinks. When the bill came for these 2, there was an additional large table charge of $17 on their bill even though the table was previously charged. We objected to a second large table charge with the evening manager and we're told it was a completely legitimate charge but did remove it "this time". How can you legitimately get charged twice for a large table? I've never even seen nor paid for use of a large table! But twice???h
Be the first to ReplySo nice to have a date night spot to go to in Carpinteria.
I'm a fan of the original Little Dom's in LA, so naturally I was excited to have one locally. The rice balls are a delicious starter option. I also thought their green salad was very fresh. I'm a sucker for spaghetti and meatballs. I'll have to come back to try more! If you're a local, we love the Tuesday night prefix dinners. Gives a lot of variety and we love trying new things. The design of this restaurant is amazing as well from the bar to the back seating area. There's also a to go option in the back which is fun. I've really been wanting to try their brunch too!

Wish i had pictures but we were too happy enjoying our food.

This is our favorite restaurant - by far - in Carpinteria, and one of our equal top favorites in the whole Santa Barbara area. Our 7-year old son loves the fish and chips, my husband loves the squid ink pasta (it's incredible), I like the fish sandwich or like to try a special, and we alllll go wild for the oysters and also their completely homemade sundae - it's the best sundae I've ever had. Great location, great service, awesome vibe, fun street-side tables in the summer, cozy inside booths, lighting just right, and super friendly servers. We recently had my 7-year olds birthday dinner here - about 30 of us, adults and children - and they were SO accommodating of our needs! I was extra impressed with their service.Cannot recommend this lovely place enough.

Excellent service, kind and attentive waitstaff, ambiance is on point, quaint art deco vibes!! Drinks and food were both delicious!!! Would definitely return!
Be the first to ReplyWe enjoyed a delicous dinner at Little Dom's last evening.
Our server, Gracyn was friendly, attentive, helpful, and efficient, which has been our experience with the staff on previous visits. The oysters from Baja were delicious and briney, as describted. The arugula & Parmesan salad & grilled artichoke were also excellent, the latter cooked perfectly. Our main courses of fish ( halibut ) piccata, tonnarelli Cacioe Pepe, & squid ink mafaldine all exceeded expectations. The desserts of chocolate olive oil cake and the gelato sundae rounded out a fine evening. The bottle of wine shared by the 4 of us was excellent and not overpriced. We are all over 70, and very much appreciated the quiet outdoor table and the special attention the house manager, Devon, gave to ensuring our meal was an enjoyable. Thanks to the entire team.Jim

We shared oysters, bread, grilled artichoke, grilled carrots and fish sandwich. Loved everything! Karina was an awesome server. We walked here from our campsite while on a trip up the coast, this was the best restaurants we visited
Be the first to ReplyI ordered the pizza.
It was good. Only issue I had is it is so thin, I was still hungry after I ate it. Almost felt like it could have been an appetizer.Hope they add to their menu. Seems like a nice place, just not much to order from.

With plenty to eat besides seafood, little Dom seafood was a match made on Bumble date heaven . Two lovers, one from Ventura the other from Santa Barbara deciding to meet halfway and Carpenteria for their first date.I'm giving this place five stars first and for most because it's literally bringing chef centered food paired with an actual wine list to the tiny town Carpenteria. So despite having more stringent standards for restaurants in other cities Little Dom's Seafood totally hit that spot for me.My date asked if he could chose the restaurant, and after six months of chatting on Instagram I was just ready to meet but feeling like I was setting him up for failure. We all know Carpenteria was never really known as a culinary hotspot or place to go for a later dinner.Which is why I was pleasantly surprised to find we were able to book a reservation for 8 PM! Not only this but little Dom's had a nightly special and a decent wine list AND a desert menu made by a pastry chef!! We ordered:-The arugula and Parmesan salad. This was exactly as it sounds appropriately dressed but would have loved a little fresh lemon slice or lemon juice to add a bit of acidity to the richness umami of the Parmesan and nutty bitterness of the fresh arugula -Technically titled, "The Rice Balls" Which I've affectionately renamed reconstructed risotto.-The Tuesday night Special of short rib sugo ragu and homemade pasta- The Coffee Chocolate Tort topped with a dollop of fresh whip. I certainly appreciate the pastry chefs creativity on doing something other than a chocolate lava cake or brownie, but this cake missed the mark with me. It was greedy and lacked moisture. I'm curious to see what else the chef can do. I had come from a full day at the sunbathing on the beach so I was not prepared to dive into the wine but I saw a $20 bottle of Montepulciano and a Trebbiano (both Italian wines from the Abruzzo region of Italy) which tells me there Is a wine professional on staff making educated food and wine pairing decisions!! I did not interact with any wine professional ( Although our waitress did mention she was given training Tasting, props to little Dom for trying!) so it could be that their wine director works from the LA location of this restaurant or maybe the chef is really good at what he does but either way I am certain that the wine list is Sommelier driven. This choice to pair of Italian Short Sugo and Montepulciano d'abruzzo ( Montepulciano is the name of the grape not to be confused with the wine region) is a match made in heaven And speaks to the possibilities of what restaurants can do creatively using professionals from around the world virtually to help drive there cuisine to the next level.
Be the first to ReplyWife has been wanting to try this place for a while.
We finally did. Sunday afternoon..only 2 tables being occupied. We started off with appetizers.. oysters. 2 different types. 6 oysters for $24. Wife orders both. They arrived quickly.. and were very good. Waited a while for our drinks. Got them after the appetizers. Waited to place our order... about 20 min. It was a nice day , wasn't in a hurry.. placed our order. Wife ordered squid ink pasta, and I ordered the Sunday special, cippapino . Also asked for a order of bread. Wife liked the pasta , I thought it was a rather small amount for the price, $24. My cippapino, 1 lobster claw, 2 shrimp, a few clams, no fish, a lot of tomatoes & onion & broth$23 . Never received our bread. Service was very slow. More than once we had to get up to get a server. Also ordered dessert, a lemon pie which was delicious. Ordered a pizza to go. Would of ordered another beer but no one helped us till after the dessert to give us our $158 bill. I knew it was going to be expensive, I thought laying out that much money the service should of been way better. Considering there was no one there, and plenty of associates inside talking and laughing. Won't be back... due to the poor service. We've spent this much many times at other places, and always received great service... not here. I could understand if it was busy or under staffed, nether was the case here.
Be the first to ReplyI was greeted immediately when I walked in the door.
It looked like the bar was full but the host pointed me to an empty seat. As soon as I sat down one of the bartenders came over to let me know it was the tail end of happy hour and pointed me to the specials as well as the regular menu and brought me a glass of water while I made up my mind. I was impressed by the menu as well as the decor of the place. It looks upscale but feels laid back, just as a nice place a block or two from the beach in a sleepy beach town should be. I tried the rice ball from the happy hour menu to start. It's risotto and cubes of mozzarella rolled into a ball and pan-fried. The crust was crispy while the interior was soft and gooey. Both the crust and the interior were delicious. It was my plan to just have a snack and wait out the traffic on the freeway but I decided to get the fried oyster sandwich to take home. It was wonderful! I'm looking forward to going back and trying other things on their menu. The prices were quite reasonable considering where this place is and what it is. I highly recommend it!

My wife and I were staying a month in Carpinteria and we heard Little Dom's was a good place to go for happy hour. We got there about 4 and sat on their nice porch outside. Our server came out and was very nice and I ordered a happy hour IPA.I ordered a margherita pizza with anchovies and a meatball. The meal came out about 10 minutes later and I ordered another IPA.The pizza was solid and the anchovies were great as always, but I would say the scene stealer was the meatball. Good size and flavorful and in a base of amazing spaghetti sauce. It was super juicy and just perfect.Perfect weather as always, near Santa Barbara and we made it to another perfect sunset.Good happy hour!
Be the first to ReplyThis is not the kind of a place I would come back to.
I was so excited to because their Sunday's special is ccioppino... my ultimate favorite Italian dish, however, I like it with a little spaghetti in it.... When I ordered it I asked the waitress to ask chef to add the pasta... he refused! I should have walked out at that time! Who is paying the check? We had to order a side of spaghetti and meat balls on the side which was ordinary! My ccioppino had a crab claw, 3 shrimp and a massive amount of tamato sauce! I did complain about it and they took it off the bill... I feel bad for this review but they should have taken care of me as I requested it from the start and not when I'm about to walk out
Be the first to ReplyI want to give this place five stars, but.
..ok, here's the deal: excellent drinks, great happy hour, awesome, friendly service, food is really, really good, gumbo is so delicious, the fish dishes are awesome, the smoked tenderloin with arugula and shaved parmesan is to die for, oyster bar / crudo is phenomenal, pasta? can't go wrong, dinner specials are excellent, but...generally speaking, on occasion, the portions are sometimes lacking, especially for an essentially a la carte menu at these prices. I don't expect huge, wasteful portions, but a few times now it's been borderline crazy small portions, even for the same dish - just somewhat inconsistent in this regard. The pizzas are super thin crust and kind of on the small side too for the price, but again, really delicious. I'm going to keep trying - the food, the drinks, the service and atmosphere are all so good, I just wish they'd dial in portions more appropriately and consistently.
Be the first to ReplyFinally got to try this new spot in Carpenteria.
Easy street parking. Restaurant looked on corner on the Main Street with indoor and outdoor sitting. Plenty of places to sit. Great long bar inside to order any drink. Friendly staff. Started with the Caprese Salad and oysters with a cocktail- both recommend. I was underwhelmed With the fish sandwich which I was why I rated a 4. The fish size was very thin for the sandwich. I would still recommend and curious to try their pizza and pasta. Definitely stop by for a drink and appetizers too.

There was so much talk when the rumor mill started in regards to Little Dom's Seafood coming to Carpinteria. There was excitement due to it's excellent reputation in the LA area. During the beginning of Covid, my husband and I partook in their takeout option and ordered their pizza, Kumamoto Oysters, Oysters on the Half Shell, and Sea Urchin. Of all, we enjoyed. We would set up on backyard and pretend we were having an al fresco dinner. It help us cope with not dining in at restaurants. In my mind, they live up to the hype. Their drinks and Smoked Fish Rillettes are, well, there are no words for them. The rillettes jump and exploded in my mouth. The tastes and textures truly blended well together. The dipping bread is a carboholic dream. The Arugula salad, with olive oil and coarse sea massage into the greens, is divine . There was a lot of partying in mouth during my meal. Hopefully they'll maintain their stay in Carp because they've added to our restaurant choices.

It took me a little while to warm up to Little Dom, but it seems that they ironed out most of their kinks. It's a great addition to Carpinteria. I recommend making reservations if you are going for dinner in a group of 3 or more. Their service is great. In the beginning it wasn't, but they've made huge Improvements in that regard since opening. Pricing is on point for what you get. Great wine list, cocktail and beer selections. The food is amazing. The first few times I wasn't sure if I'd add this place on my regular rotation, but they've won me over with their pizzas. Parking can be tricky occasionally, but usually not. If you live near downtown Carpinteria, WALK! Carpinteria is such a beautiful town. I'm very happy to have this place just down the street from me. Keep up the good work!

We ordered rice balls, gumbo, fish and chips, side of greens and two drinks. Food was very good, fresh and well prepared. Server was very professional. Constructive criticism....I would like to see more hot seafood appetizers (all were cold) gumbo was good but cioppino would be even better. The menu is kinda all over the place. All in all...a good experience.
Be the first to ReplyWent during lunch to celebrate a birthday with my partner.
Service was okay. Not very attentive towards the end and we were the only people left. Sat around a few minutes waiting for our check. Food wise: ordered oysters- can't really go wrong with that. The squid ink pasta with uni butter didn't have much flavor. Sounds great on paper, that's about it. The fish picatta on the other hand, had great flavor, but beware, you'll still be hungry after eating everything on the plate (fish & green beans). I knew I should've just ordered pizza. Overall, nothing amazing and I don't see myself going back, especially to celebrate a birthday.
