A Delicious Meal!
My friends and I had a relaxing dining experience at Leila. We were not rushed and allowed to savor the flavors of each course. We started with a selection of appetizers before moving to our main course of chicken and lamb (so good I forgot to take photos). We capped off our meal with an ice cream treat topped with Lebanese cotton candy - so sweet and so good! I definitely recommend visiting Leila for a delicious dinner in a relaxed setting. You won't regret it!

There are many middle eastern restaurants to choose from in Detroit, but this place gives a different twist on common cuisine that's very creative. A lot of attention to detail. Everything tasted GREAT. Staff wonderful. Loved the open kitchen layout, can see the staff in action. Would recommend this place to anyone, def top 5 place to go in Detroit.

What a wonderful new find. it is in Capital Park and was a really nice experience. Went here with several people from work for a holiday get-together, and we all loved the place. It has a great ambiance and the food was wonderful. We shared several things, Baba ganoush, Kibee Nayeh, beetroot and feta salad, Hummus, then ordered entrees, Ribs, Chicken Wings, Roasted Chicken, Salmon. The service was wonderful and attentive.

This is a genuinely terrific Lebanese restaurant. We are on the patio: It was a very nice setting. The food was terrific, and we had many vegetarian options. This is simply a great place for an evening out in Detroit.

My first time at Leila and it definitely won’t be the last. As a middle eastern, I had high expectations for the food here as it is Lebanese based. The food and drinks exceeded my expectations. My favorite drink was the ‘Anne Hathaway’; perfectly sweet and smooth. The bread was always warm and soft. We dipped it in the hummus, lebneh, and confit garlic. All delicious apps. The fattoush was authentic and had that sour, sumac-y zing. For entrees we got the shish tawook; so juicy and flavorful and came with garlic, veggies, rice, and more bread, the arayes; it had the perfect texture; haloumi; perfectly crisp and salty; and the batata harra; spicy, crispy, and perfect. Overall definitely a must try restaurant for a chill night with good food and relaxing ambience. (+1 for valet at the door!)

We stopped by for a quick snack (lebnah) and a drink. We made one more stop before having dinner elsewhere. Turns out Leila was the star of the night. Great service at the bar (three attentive bartenders), delicious drinks, fun urban atmosphere, and cool music all worked together to make one memorable visit.
Be the first to ReplyGreat find in Detroit
Came to Detroit to visit the Van Gogh show and hadn't done much research on where to eat. Stumbled upon Leila and we were lucky to get a table on Tuesday without a reservation. The space, service and food were excellent. The baba ghanouj was the best I've ever had. The hummus and hashwi was also memorable. In hindsight, my wife and I probably could have split one entree, or just ordered more items off of the mezze section to share, as we both left very full. I'm always excited when I'm able to order a bottle of Chateau Musar at a restaurant and the price for the bottle we ordered was reasonable. But, given its Lebanese roots and how good its wine menu was, my one criticism of Leila's is that it didn't also offer and promote some of the other very good wines that come from Lebanon. A small criticism and it won't stop me from returning if and when I'm back in Detroit.

Incredible food! Many visits and everything we've tried has been great. Perfect spot for a date night or to bring friends who are visiting the city.

I'll admit to being skeptical--hummus is hummus, right? Wrong! This place takes standards to new heights and puts together some amazing new dishes. We're an older couple, and 2 mezze and 1 shared entree was enough food for two meals for us (and it was every bit as good the second day). We had the lamb mezze, which was melt in your mouth, and the batata harra potatoes, which were creamy on the inside and crisp on the outside with just the right amount of spice to make them amazing. We shared the mixed grill--the chicken was moist and beautifully seasoned. The lamb sausage was tasty but a bit salty to our taste, and the ribeye tasty but a bit well done. Overall, the food was excellent and not what we would made at home and make better. The service was impeccable; the staff are well trained. You see and feel the family running the show and doing it well. This was not a cheap meal, but it was worth every penny. A great bet if you're in the downtown Detroit area. Be sure and try the Lebanese beer and wine--fantastic!

This is a superb restaurant in Downtown Detroit. The setting is elegant yet unpretentious, the Lebanese food is great, the cocktails are strong and inventive, and service is first rate. This is a great option for a special night in Detroit.

Fantastic Food. We tried 6 or 7 of the small plates, some of both the hot and the cold. We had a couple entrees and shared it all. We finished with fried cheese and ice cream. The whole thing was wonderful. And the service was better! Beautiful night. Tips: get a reservation. Don’t just walk in. Try the Lebanese Wine. Ask about it and try it. And eat lots of pita. Ask for it.

Friendly people in a beautiful setting. Delicious food that included freshly baked pita served piping hot. Ambiance was perfect with good music. The menu says, “come back and try me!”

This is a great Lebanese restaurant in a very nice and elegant space. The drinks are very good, the food is tremendous, and service is friendly and attentive. The menu is extensive and varied, with fine options for meat lovers, fish people and vegetarians. We will definitely return.

I was really looking forward to dining here. The tables are spaced out nicely and the staff is very helpful albeit the need more help. The food is wonderful although the ribs I would not order again. The chicken was wonderful.
Be the first to ReplySolid food and service
Leila offers great middle eastern food in a modern open style restaurant. There looks to be a great bar downstairs but unfortunately it's closed. There is a decent area of outdoor seating. The service is great. The 4 of us ordered 2 entrees and 3 small plates to share. I liked the Ribs and Kafka the best.
