We visited the restaurant just past its lunchtime opening, and didn’t have to queue. I recommend doing this if you can, as when we finished our meal and left around 2pm, there was a massive queue. The salad was crisp and fresh, but could do with more walnuts. The bread was warm. The steak was cooked to my liking, and the fries were delish! Crispy and hot. Don’t know what’s in the green sauce, but it was a fab accompaniment to the fries. Love that you get a double serving. The profiteroles were okay, the dark chocolate sauce was intense but the ice cream mellowed it out. The sticky toffee pudding was the real dessert winner. Lovely, would come back for it! Only real complaint was that it felt a bit like too many tables were squeezed into the relatively small space. You’re very very close to other diners. I feel it was reasonably priced, with fast and polite service, and would have no problem returning.

We had a fantastic meal here. We were apprehensive to queue, as you cannot book, however we braved the cold and it was completely worth it. Amazing food, very simple and casual and very reasonably priced. Will definitely go again!
Be the first to ReplyFabulous (despite the wait)
This place has to be seen to be believed. Friday night and the wait was 1 1/2 hours for a table. The local pubs did well with people getting take away drinks. Once inside everything worked like clockwork. House red and white were very good and the steaks cooked to perfection.

The best sauce in the world on an excellent beef. Crowded as always since you cannot book but it pays to wait. Excellent and very quick service. Having also been to the Paris entrecôte I believe that the food is even better
Be the first to ReplyAlways lovely!
We always visit this restaurant when we’re in London. It serves salad, steak and chips with a yummy sauce. The layout of the restaurant is very French bistro style with white tablecloths and staff wearing black and white. The house red is good and the atmosphere is lively. Would recommend!

Having dinner at L’entrecote is an experience every Londoner should try! The restaurant itself is decorated in a traditional french manner and is located in a very lively area. I went there a few days ago and even though the wait was over an hour, it was well worth it. The waitresses were extremely helpful and very quick to bring the food. The customer is first served salad and then steak meat with french fries with their famous sauce (pro tip, tell them to add the sauce on the fries as well). You can refill the main course once and by the end of it, I was quite stuffed myself! The creme brulê for desert was also mesmerising and a must have.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect unique experience...
My friend took me to this beautiful place. She was keep telling me about the signature sauce and steak of this restaurant. It was actually quiet good experience I can say. You don't need to spend time to decide what to eat:) because there is only one meal in this unique place. Sirlion steak, signature sauce and fries. Desert portions are huge. You get a salad as a starter. Staff is very friendly, keen to help. The lady named Roxana made a great job there. Only the negative thing is that they dont accept bookings so you need to queue by the door. But it is worth it. I do highly recommend it. I will definitelly go back.
Be the first to ReplyFood is average at best, service is rude
Food was ok, service was pretty poor. Waitress never very cold, uninterested and quite rude to be honest. It was a shame, the meal isn’t that big but the food was nice. The sauce is delicious but won’t be going again. The service really put me off and the food isn’t good enough to go back again
Be the first to ReplyOutdated and unfriendly
As previous reviews say this place was very underwhelming. It felt like we went back in time to the 1960s (with present day prices) with the awful uniform the poor waitresses had to wear, no wonder the lack of friendly service. I didn’t like the whole concept of do as we say or get out. Also the whole not booking I found outdated. I’m glad I didn’t have to queue up. At the end of the day I’m a paying customer and expect a better level of service. The food was ok but not the best steak as it came precut (like I can’t do that myself) and you can’t choose how you want your steak they dictate for you three possible ways, and the special sauce tasted outdated. The restaurant felt very dated and the tables were very close together and all in all I wouldn’t recommend this place.
Be the first to ReplyAwful
Sadly I visited this restaurant and wasted 45 mins queuing. There was no service with a smile. The steak was awful. The sauce was grim and the chips tasted like they had been drowned in oil. Dirty plates everywhere. Food all over the floor and the staff had stains all over their clothing. Genuinely the worst meal I’ve ever had. We were in and out within 20 mins. What a waste of £65. I would not recommend.

Not much to say - looking forward to a hearty steak frites lunch with my copine - salad was an ok if extremely simple starter, the steak was pretty meagre fayre - don't know what cut it was but anything but hearty and followed by a few more small slices once finished the meagre first offering. Frites were okay - but no mayo or ketchup available for them so you were left with the french mustard or the frankly rather unpleasant green sauce from the steak to soak it up. The only redeeming feature was the decor, but frankly that did'nt compensate for the underwhelming food and I don't mind cosy, but when you're neighbouring table is as close to you as your dining companion it is rather too close for comfort. But A1 for marketing - I as well as many others were taken in by the French schtick, having lived in Paris, I guess most Parisians would find this equally underwhelming too.
Be the first to ReplyAs a French who was recommended this restaurant a few times, I was very disappointed.
This restaurant was recommended to me by a few non-french colleagues, who told me that the food and experience were amazing, I was offended!
- 1h30 queue on a Saturday evening, it was not great, but during that 1h30 I was really craving for a good "steak frites".
- Once in, we were received by a very nice a friendly staff, they were very attentive and very helpful during the whole meal - which was the only positive thing really.
- The bread served with the Salad was a joke, even Sainsbury has better baguettes, it was much worse than the bread you buy "sous vide" and put in the over, no taste no texture.. a good baguette would cost 2pound from Paul.. seriously!
- The steak was drowning in the sauce, so much sauce that you could not even taste the meat, that was not great at all.
- You think you have "two service" of steak and fries, but you have one steak, served in two parts, and a tons of fries - because fries are cheap so they can give a lot of them
- Dessert was ok, wine was bad (but at least cheap)
28£ for that is a rip off.. You can have much nicer steaks for cheaper than that in pretty much every restaurant in town.
I think all the people who go in this restaurant have never had a proper steak served to them.
Anyway, thanks to the staff for being very nice and attentive.
(I love world cuisine, and do eat at the restaurants a lot, when it's bad I usually don't complain, but this time I really had to expose the truth).
It is Perfect

Succulent Steak
Loved this restaurant. Visited as a treat before Christmas as have visited Entrecôte in France and wanted to try out the concept here. Service great, busy at lunchtime and we left with a smile on our faces …well done.

Delicious steak and chips, no other options on the menu, staff were lovely and attentive. Would definitely return again.

Had to queue for an hour and in the end was loosing hope wondering if it was even worth it, but it definitely was! Quick attentive service and incredible steak cooked to perfection with a mountain for chips and then a second portion was exactly what we wanted! The secret sauce was phenomenal and even the seemingly basic salad served at the start with baguette was lovely. Good vibe and amazing food, with massive portions- what more could you ask for! All the deserts looked amazing, but we went for profiteroles and were very happy we did! Will definitely be returning again when back in London!
