Disappointed with the flavors presented tonight.
Service was good. I had the lobster bisque with chorizo and bacon. It was ok but served lukewarm. I had the cod in a broth. Lacked flavors. It tried to be clever by adding some Asian flavors on their. Salt would help in this scenario. Underwhelmed given their known reputation.

"A good find in a touristy area"I was expecting a lot less when I came here. I was thinking from all of the reviews that it was going to be very average food for the lemmings. I was actually pleasantly surprised at the range of options on the menu, including unusual ones that are atypical. What's to cheer?- Very good escargot and bread !- wonderful outdoor seating, not facing a super busy street - fast service- good menu- fair pricesWhat's to jeer- Staff can be a little surly- No duck on the menu

Dined only for escargot so can only review on one menu item, but the escargot is delicious here! Good size as well and comes in a dozen. Pricing is basically over 2euro each. Table bread that is served with, is also delicious and fresh. Server was efficient and friendly. Location is in the busy St. Germain area.
Be the first to ReplyIt felt like I was in Paris in early 1990s.
Servers with attitude, asked them for an English menu because no one in our company was fluent in French. I dined at this place in 2019 (pre Covid) and everyone was extremely nice. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind at all getting a menu in a native language any place I go, but majority of the time waiters are putting an effort to help , especially the ones with perfect English like the one who came to our table at this place. If they want my money then I'll spend it somewhere else.
Be the first to ReplyHonestly, it was just ok.
I came here for a really late dinner with my friend when visiting Paris. I would definitely give this place a pass and try someplace else if I could go back again. The menu was in French, but Google Translate came in pretty handy!I had the beef stew and honestly, it was OK but nothing amazing. The pickled red onions in the dish really ruined it for me; I had to take them out. I am normally a huge fan of pickled red onions, but something about them was incredibly overpowering and way too acidic.I would personally pass on the dessert and go somewhere else. It was mid and definitely skippable.Overall a little pricy and generally a pretty forgettable meal. It wasn't bad, just wasn't anything amazing.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent restaurant for French cuisine.
While the menus are in French, you can utilize Google Translate to figure out what's on the menu, or ask the server! Some of them do speak English. Their menu is seasonal, so it will change on a routine basis. While we were there in July 2022, we ordered two appetizers and two entrees. Escargot: can skip. Not the best tasting we've had and can be omitted. Tomato salad: SO GOOD. I have never had tomatoes that tasted so sweet, juicy, and refreshing. The buratta cheese was not overwhelming or overly heavy. The picked onions paired perfectly with the overall dish. Seared blue fin tuna: refreshing. While the fish was dry on the edges, it was plated on a bed of spring greenery that was complimentary to the fish. Very light, and very refreshing. Shredded pork feet: flavorful, but heavy. Never had pork feet made this way before. Texture was very soft. Interesting dish to try. Overall, the ambience is fantastic as this restaurants sits at the edge of two other intersections.

Ordered a steak, pork cheek stew, eggs with mayonnaise, and a Paris Brest dessert. The dessert was terrific. The steak was very tough even though it was cooked to medium well. The pork stew was bland. The steak meal comes with nothing. No vegetables or a potato. I ordered mashed potato's at an extra cost. The steak cost 32 euros and the stew 24. An an orangeina drink cost 4 euro and 5 for a small cup of cafe au lait. The eggs were boiled and drenched with a mayonnaise sauce and covered with greens. Again nothing special. I believe Anthony Bourdain was at this restaurant on one his recent shows. Although he didn't mention whether it was good or not. Everything here was bland even the coffee was below sub par. Nice waiter and not so friendly owner. The location is good, but would look for something else.
Be the first to ReplyFood is excellent and the service from Generro was superb.
We had the duck foie gras which was like butter. Rack of lamb was well cooked. Extensive wine list from all regions of France. The bottle of red Beaujolais was excellent. Our server Gennero could not take payment which was the only hiccup.
Be the first to ReplyReally enjoyed my dinner at Le Comptoir.
The cod was delicious as was the choux dessert. My husband had the special which was lamb and he loved it. Would have got five stars but we had to wait nearly 30 mins to pay the bill which put a dampener on an otherwise lovely evening. Would definitely return!
Be the first to ReplyVery good restaurant for French cuisine.
Thanks to the reviewers before me leave a good guidance. Definitely accurate and true. I call the restaurant ahead to see if reservations is needed and available table. They told me during the time I call has a lot open table. We got seated as they have said. I started with the local wine. It is good to go with the steak. Our appetizers is the Burgundy Escargot. This appetizer is recommended by many yelpers. The escargot is double size than most escargot. Love the chamber filled with green olive oil sauce. Once you scoop out the meat, you may want to empty the sauce to the plate for bread dipping sauce. I got the veal steak with potatoes. The steak top with fried onion sauce. The steak is tender and nice to have. The veal in France look like pork but is not pork. My wife have the cod fish fillet with squid ink pasta. They serve like soup base bottom. The pasta is interesting. My wife said it taste like black mushroom. Overall our experience is really good. Love the taste. It was final night in Paris to end the tour with good meal.
Be the first to ReplyEverything here tasted pretty bad lol.
We tried the wine by the glass and when my husband couldn't drink it. he told me that he has been spoiled by being with me. The foie gras is probably the worst for me in the last few weeks in France. I ordered the cod but the dish is crying for salt. Haha. We were supposed to eat next door but it's closed today. Or well....
Be the first to ReplyBy far the single worst experience I've ever had in Paris
By far the single worst experience I've ever had in Paris or in any restaurant. ever. Don't go here unless you enjoy being treated like a 3rd class citizen.I'm American but my French is very good and I know how not to be a tourist, I could read and order off their menu, etc, but still treated with exceptionally, disgustingly bad service for mediocre food. Rude to the max. Pure assholes. So obscenely over-rated. Do NOT believe the hype!! go literally anywhere else.

We dined here on our last night in Paris and everything was great. It was a Wednesday night around 8pm and we had no reservations but asked if they can sit a party of 7; the wait staff initially said they can't as there was already reservations made for the hotel guests, but the guy inside was nice enough to make it happen (by asking a couple to move to the other side) so they can accommodate our big party, so that was appreciated. The food came on time, everything was amazing, even the wine that was recommended by our host. The hosts were very gracious and attentive. Price was fair for the great dining experience we had on our last night.

In my first trip to Paris, this restaurant was a random recommendation from someone who my friend met at a bar. If you are looking for a fantastic French bistro, I would highly recommend. We sat outside under heated lamps and enjoyed the truffle croque, foie gras, and bone marrow--all of which were recommendations from our waiter and were absolutely delectable. For our main courses, we enjoyed the filet, lamb, and veal, cooked to perfection. All of this paired perfectly with two bottles of French wine. It was an excellent French dining experience!
Be the first to ReplyWe visited the restaurant on our first night in Paris.
It was a Tuesday night and we went very close to opening. It was packed, but we got lucky and were able to sit at the bar to eat without a reservation. We started with the Bourgogne Snails, our first time trying snails and they were very tasty. The pesto that was with the snail was amazing. Next we shared the French Onion Soup, it was a gigantic bowl of the best soup I have ever had. The top has a crust of amazing soup and there are large soft croutons throughout the soup. Finally we shared the Roasted Duck Breast with a Balsamic Sauce and Mashed Potato. I have never enjoyed duck in the past, but this was incredible. My favorite entree of our trip was this duck. Our bartender and server Sam was so helpful and friendly. He made our experience even better as he helped us with our wine choices and learned a bit about Paris. Everyone should try this restaurant while visiting Paris. We got a great introduction to the city with our experience.
Be the first to ReplyI specifically saw this from Bourdain's, Layover: Paris
I specifically saw this from Bourdain's, Layover: Paris episode. It's a standing seafood bar with tapas! They serve you delicious corn bread like baguettes with butter, then they pour you crisp white wine from their incredible wine fridge, and carefully explain each dish they have. I loved their foie gras! It's like a tender buttery taste that resembles bone marrow in a way. This was a bucket list dish. We enjoyed their foie gras steak and escargot! The escargot was cooked to the point where we ate the shells! It was like munching on garlic butter-pesto bites! JUST DELISH!! This place is a great hangout spot to mingle with others while eating tapas. I highly recommend this place!

Authentic and delicious! Had lunch here and it was wonderful. We had beef stew and apple tart. The stew was melt in your mouth delicious and the apple tart was amazing - thinly sliced apples, just the right amount of pastry and perfect sweetness, served with delicious ice cream. The wine selection is extensive. The service was good, if a bit aloof, but we really enjoyed our meal here.
