We do not understand this Michelin star at all !!! We went this evening and the outside dining area was closed and the inside restaurant look like a dated Westin hotel with artificial flowers on the table and absolutely no decor. This included empty bar tables in the center of the restaurant used for reasons that were not clear. The entree menu is extremely limited. Two of the five entrees are shared (two persons only ) while four of the five entrรฉes -are meat, This created a very narrow set of choices. Can't the chef figure out that an individual may want a veal chop without sharing with his or her spouse or partner.????? The most attractive item on the table was the antiseptic hand sanitizer. I thought it was 2021 all over again. To add insult to injury -they require a $60 per persondeposit. Thank you, -next time i will simply take an In-N-Out Burger and call it a night

Everything about my dinner experience was INCREDIBLE!!! From beginning to end I smiled and the food was outstanding!
Be the first to ReplyThis restaurant is always an adventure.
Expect the unexpected and enjoy the many surprises presented by the amazing servers, chefs, and sommelier. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. From the amuse bouche to dessert, everything is perfection!
Be the first to ReplyDo Not Go Here.
I'm a local who had nice memories of this restaurant from a couple years ago. I want to point out that the Michelin star is nine years old. We went here to celebrate a.big achievement and I literally left in tears. It was that bad. The staff could care less because you're paying an automatic 20% tip. In general in wine country, if they require a mandatory tip, go somewhere else. That is the sign of a bad restaurant. The good ones don't need to have you supplement their staff's paychecks with automatic fees. First of all, they are charging $40 a glass for wine bottles that are not worth more than $50 to $200. Most restaurants around here will charge about $20 a glass. Secondly, my rabbit entree was completely raw and gross. While they did begrudgingly replace this entrรฉe, everyone else at my table had finished eating, and they still hadn't brought the replacement. It was embarrassing. They had very little remorse about this. pWhen you are charging $50-$160 for an entrรฉe, there is no excuse for raw protein. They still charged us $400! I feel.completely ripped off. Third, everything is very pedestrian. The carpaccio is salty. The lobster salad has too many cold vegetables and underripe mango. And it feels like eating in a hotel, which you are. This is the cement basement of a Westin hotel. Do not eat here! Napa is full of great restaurants. BTW if you go with an 11 year old, they won't allow him/her to access the kid's menu. So i hope your kid likes salty carpaccio or liver or oily pasta!
Be the first to ReplyWe had dinner at La Toque on 3/9/2024.
Food was excellent. Everything you would expect for a place like this. We have dined many times at some of the world's finest restaurants in New York, SF, LA, and many major cities in Europe and the food at La Toque was consistently excellent. Prices are reasonable for this level of dining experience. Food service was outstanding. Ambience is ok. Perhaps a B+. Being attached to a Westin Hotel is a bit pathetic, but I would let them slide on this aspect. The only negative I would raise is that the sommelier had a horrible attitude. Not sure why ....... perhaps he had a bad day. Otherwise, excellent experience.
Be the first to ReplyIncredible dining experience at La Toque! Came here last
Incredible dining experience at La Toque! Came here last Thursday with my husband and another couple. We all opted for the chef's tasting menu at $225 pp. We decided not to do the wine pairing and ordered cocktails instead. Food was incredible. We were all blown away by the depth of flavor in every dish. I highly recommend the tasting menu if it's within your budget. Service was excellent! Our waiter and the staff were always attentive. Not once did I have an empty glass of water. Highly recommend adding this restaurant to your list if in Napa.
Be the first to ReplyFrom chef to service our dining experience was 10/10.
We did the vegetarian tasting menu and everything was so well done and interesting. My fiancรฉ did the wine pairing and that was also really well executed.
Be the first to ReplyIt's not just dinner, it's an experience.
The wait staff were all super friendly and described the dishes beautifully. They were all very attentive. I definitely got the sense that the staff here want the customers to have a wonderful night. I had the chef's tasting menu and the food itself was absolutely delectable. Super inventive and unlike anything I've had before. The flavor combinations were wonderful and everything was cooked to perfection. There were so many courses and I definitely did not leave hungry! If you're looking for a nice restaurant for a special occasion, this is the place. I don't think I'll ever forget my night here.

The staff and ambiance are very welcoming, everyone was great and the service was excellent. Drinks were very good. We tried the chefs menu and found all of the offerings very inspired and tasty.

The whole Ambiance is absolutely stunning and gives you that luxurious feeling. The flower vases and the overall seating is very impressive. The service is over the top and the style of serving is also very unique. The food is good too. Overall great experience.
Be the first to ReplyAfter sleeping on it, I woke up still feeling the same way.
I really thought and expected this was going to be an excellent place to celebrate my wife's birthday and take 2 other couples. I'm going to be brief in this review: the first is, for the menu and price, I expected at least to have table cloths on the tables and not staring at scratched up wood and place mats that look like what we put on our outside patio set. The staff was by far the highlight. Excellent all around, five stars to all of them. The food to me was shockingly subpar and we all did the chef's tasting menu which should be the best display of the chef's abilities. Most items came out way too cool for temperatures. I guarantee if the chef actually tasted those dishes he'd be upset. My whole group commented on it. The scallop was the best and warmest item, with the beef being the worst and actually cool to the touch. I have to say I felt a little embarrassed that I took everyone here on top of the fact that I did not realize it was in the Westin which was odd. No chance ever I would go back and if this is what earns a Michelin star, then I guess I don't understand what that means. 5 stars for staff 2 stars for ambiance/table decor 2-3 stars for food depending on the dish.
Be the first to ReplyI really wanted to like it.
I really did. Service was excellent. Food was sub par. I'm almost positive it's not the same chef. But still has the Michelin star. All i remember was my ink pasta was beyond salty, same as few of the vegetables dishes. Food is not worth the money. Service is though!
Be the first to ReplyWe went to La Toque for our anniversary and it was the most
We went to La Toque for our anniversary and it was the most enjoyable experience we have had with dining out. From the moment we walked in, they greeted us by name after learning about our reservation and everyone we had check in on us was happy to do so. The sommelier listened to our preferences and paired an unbelievable cab with our meal. We didn't do the chef's tasting so the French onion soup and wagyu were fantastic. They use a different cheese that gives a unique flavor that left us talking about it on the drive home. Everything was perfect and I can't wait to go back.
Be the first to ReplyAmbiance is dark, quiet, dimly lit, .
..pretty empty on a Thursday night. My husband's meal was a 3-Star meal. His squid pasta app was way too salty and swimming in butter. His duck entree was overcooked and small. My meal was 5-Star. I loved the head-to-tail pasta app...great flavor and the pasta was well made. My halibut was delicious. I guess it all depends on what you order.
Be the first to ReplyI was so excited to go here initially.
I heard great things and the dรฉcor and ambience were lovely. But from the start, the food was underwhelming and it only got worse from there. We ordered the chef's specialty, the dry aged steak. At $110 for a 14 oz NY strip, we expected it to be exceptional. From the first bite, it was obvious something was wrong with the meat. I love dry aged meat and initially thought it was simply aged too long but realized on the second bite the meat was not just funky, it was spoiled. When we returned the steaks and insisted they be taken off the $1200 bill (there were 5 in our party) the acting manager Mike Lee rudely stomped off after making sure we were not taking the leftover steak home. We are in the midst of recovering physically and emotionally from a painful experience.Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere
Be the first to ReplyWe had a very bad experience at La.
toque tonight. The food was underwhelming from the start. But then we ordered the dry aged NY strip as the main entre and there was something very wrong. A bad taste. We complained and they grudgingly took one steak off the bill when we had ordered 3. When I insisted they take all the steaks off the bill they became rude. Even though they eventually took the steaks off the bill they never apologized for what was actually a ruined meal. All of us are feeling sick to our stomach. This is not fine dining. A huge disappointment.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was delicious, of course.
The setting was a bit noisy and busy, but the servers were very attentive. We did the food and wine pairing tasting menu, and each pairing was fantastic. The restaurant was kind enough to mail us a signed copy of the menu, by the chef, from the night we were there.
Be the first to ReplyRather disappointing.
Had to wait for table even though reserved, had to go ask for proper silverware, wine was lukewarm. Food for good, but the overall experience was disappointing, especially given the price point.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing experience.
Food and service was amazing. High marks for wine pairings. Do not miss!

Came to celebrate my birthday and had an amazing dinner!I added black truffles to my artichoke soup The rosti potato, oh my!The pasta dishes over the top. Squid ink corzetti with so much crab my husband has not anything like it. And my agnolotti with black truffles added worth every penny! Now let me tell you about the most amazing veal we've ever had! OMG! We're already talking about our next visit

Thank you staff and chef! You have made my husband's birthday the most memorable day! Great food and service with amazing staff bringing us our 6 courses with the truffle as the highlight. We will be back! Cheers and merci and Grazia from the Italian
Be the first to ReplyWe had the 41st truffle tasting menu last night.
In full transparency, we are La Toque fans - it's one of our go-tos for a special night.First, I want to say that the service was impeccable. Our waiter was attentive without being over-bearing, was pleasant with just the right amount of chit chat. What a difference professional wait staff make! The 1st amuse bouche was a lovely tartar and cheese puff, both truffled. Definitely warmed up the palette. A second AB was a cheese custard topped with truffled creme fraise. It did what it was supposed to: left us wanting more!Next was sour dough bread with truffle butter. We thought it nice but unremarkable until they brought the next course, a double reduced chicken consume with truffle, mushroom and meat medallions. The waiter instructed us to remove the puff pastry on top and to eat it with the bread. On it's own the soup was delicious, but when you dipped the bread and truffle butter in, it was an explosion of umami! The combination blew us away - a master chef pairing of flavors.Next came the salmon, stuffed with a truffle ribbon, sous vide, over a cabbage and vegetable medley. It may have been the best salmon I've ever had: moist, tender, flavorful, and the vegetable complimenting and adding depth.Next came the agnolotti. Not the high point. The pasta was too thick and tough (my partner's was thinner and more tender), the sauce was over-salted and over-powering. My partner enjoyed it more, but I found it too abrupt. Then came the entree. My partner got the veal, I got the 4-ounce wagyu. My partner found the beef oddly flavorless, but then added the truffle butter and said it absolutely came alive. Not sure if that was the chef's intent - would have been nice to have been told if it was. The wagyu was so marbled and fatty, I ate less than half and gave it to my partner. It wasn't sous vide long enough to render any of the fat, and my partner, who prefers fatty over lean, said it was too much for him. The sauce was... unremarkable. The best thing on the entre plate was the cauliflower. The cheese course included a mild, creamy goat with truffle butter and grilled sour dough. My partner summarized it nicely: this is like the best grilled cheese sandwich I' e ever had. And it was. Finally came dessert: a choux pastry filled with the best chantilly and an apple compote with salt caramel. The joys of a good pastry chef, it brought the mean to a perfect close.A note on the wine: I did the pairing. The consume came with a French Champaign. Up front, I thought it an odd pairing, but the acidity of the Champaign was the perfect foil for the richness of the dish. The salmon came with a Chardonnay - a serviceable pairing. The agnolotti pairing took one sip to know it was a mismatch. I left the glass. The Cabernet was the highlight of the night, a surprise Sonoma hit. Would that the wagyu was equal to the wine. The cheese course was also a miss on the wine pairing (stopped after a sip), but the dulce was a good complement to the pastry.I've never given La Toque less than 5 stars, and don't get me wrong, it was an exceptional meal. But it had some misses, and heretofore, La Toque had never had a miss.
Be the first to ReplyEnded up trying La Toque for a friends 30th birthday and it
Ended up trying La Toque for a friends 30th birthday and it was quite the experience. This restaurant is located in the Westin and if you are looking for a fine dining experience in Napa this is a good choice for you. We ended up doing the chefs tasting menu and got to try:* amouse bouche - Parmesan creme fraiche dish, this was a light airy cheesy dish that we started off with which was delicious and unique * amouse bouche - fried scallop - this was lightly breaded and crispy and had lots of flavor when it hit the mouth * crispy potato with creme fraiche and caviar - this was my first time trying caviar and if I'm being honest I wasn't blown away. The flavor is unique though and the crispy crunchy texture with the caviar went well together* lobster soup - this was refreshing and delicious, there was big chunks of lobster in it and came with fresh veggies*halibut with potato scale - this was delicious and fresh, but I loves the crispy potato skin on top which added a nice flavor along with the sauce* duck confit and breast ravioli - this came with 3 pieces with some crispy veggies, the boyfriend got it with the truffles which I tried but wasn't particularly a fan of the truffle flavor* roasted eye of beef rib - this was very yummy and came with potatoes and spinach - everything was well prepared and the boy liked this a lot*wagyu beef with veggies - the boy got this dish and I actually really liked it - the vegetables were all unique and flavorful while wagyu was a rich flavor with every bite. * raclette - this was an okay dish but was a boiled potato with cheese on top with a side of pickles - a little too heavy for me * hazelnut crunch layer cake with ice cream - this dessert was delicious and flavorful, it reminded me of a ferrero rocher actually and was yummyOnce we were done they gave us brownie bites and a dessert box to take home along with the menu which was really nice!Overall, it was a fun experience doing the tasting, the supplements do add up though but worth it for the experience!
Be the first to ReplyHonestly, I am not exactly sure how this place got it's
Honestly, I am not exactly sure how this place got it's Michelin star. Don't get me wrong, it's a fine Restaurant, but... The service is Upper French bistro level. What you would expect. Very attentive to the Mise en place and friendly enough. Nothing to write home about at this price point. A job done as prescribed with no over and above... They have a Stand out Sommelier though. Very knowledgeable and professional, an impressive individual...Though he could have been a bit more generous with his pours (darn it)...se la vie. He curates a Spectacular, over priced wine list.Joel Robuchons Chef Table in Las Vegas was on a completely different culinary level then this (also one Michelin star)...plus you get to watch the chefs prepare the food. At Robuchon's every course was something completely original and spectacular...at La Toque, everything was quite basic. Well prepared, but very basic.Started with a simple, nothing special lobster salad. It was delicious. Not because of the chef, but because it was fresh Maine lobster and beluga caviar. Then it was an ordinary skeet wing in a typical brown butter sauce. He threw in a few champagne grapes which the server called currants... Ordinary, but delicious... this can be said about the entire meal. It was not the chef's genius or skill that was highlighted in the meal. it was the splendid ingredients, like in the truffle layered cream cheese and wonderful (how could it not be), black truffle pasta with tableside shaved black truffle by one of the cooks...sweet!I am not at all displeased that I chose to experience it. Just a bit underwhelmed by how uncreative (for a Michelin starred Restaurant at this price point), and low end French Bistro Basic with some better ingredients the 6 course meal was. I was hoping to be overwhelmed with spectacular creations. I was given spectacular ingredients and basic preparations. That said, I almost didn't take the reservation. I am shocked at the covid hysteria of this place. I was bombarded with calls, texts. YOU MUST SHOW PROOF OF VACCINATION! We are the Covid police. Of Course, here in the real world, science and the CDC have told us in 2002 that the vaccine does not in any way what so ever stop the spread of the virus. That's not what it does. What it does, unquestionably in earlier forms of Covid at least, is It protects the person vaccinated from severe illness and hospitalization. So why exclude the unvaccinated? They are just as likely to catch it from YOU as you from them...only you're protected with the vaccine from severe illness! Stop your unwarranted phobic hysteria La Toque. It reeks of discrimination and prejudice. Catch up with science and love your unvaccinated neighbors. They are Americans just like us (the vaccinated).
