Love the decor of the bar here.
Beautiful wallpaper & super cute decor. Came here for drinks & a quick bite. Our bartender/waitress Jacky was great! She recommended some food items (we loved the quesadilla) & drinks. I really appreciated her attentiveness & great customer service. This is a super cute place for date night or just hanging out if you're in the area. Would come back.
Be the first to ReplyFood was amazing, service and value was ok.
I am not a fan of places that make you pay for the chips and salsa, but the food was delicious. We will likely revisit next time we are in the area.

I was in town, and every one was telling me to go to La Calenda for the fish tacos so when I got there I said sat the bar ordered me a margarita and asked the bartender what he recommended he suggested Pollo al carbon. It was delicious marinated adobe chicken with pickled red onions next time I am in town I will try the fish tacos maybe that chicken has me feeling some kinda way ha ha.

Had high expectations as it is part of Thomas Keller Restaurant Group. The food lived up to the expectations. The carnitas tacos were full of flavor and the mole negro enchiladas were enjoyable. Only gripes were the service and margaritas. We had a 7pm reservation on a Thursday and were out the door by 7:30pm. The service was almost too quick and we ordered app, drinks, and entrees. The margaritas left a lot to be desired for $16. Would still go back because the food was delicious and a pleasing atmosphere
Be the first to ReplyService was great! The food was great.
My significant other loves tacos and was all about the tacos. The chips were served hot and fresh! I took a slice of Tres leches cake home to enjoy with strawberries.

Service was quick, attentive, and friendly, even during the Super Bowl! Sitting inside even during the Super Bowl (during lunch time) was not too rowdy, which was really nice. The decorations are also really pretty, and I liked the way they reorganized the tables!I wanted to review again specifically about the desserts! This time around, we really loved how flavorful and delicious the regular desserts are, compared to the dessert that was offered during New Year's. I especially loved the creaminess of the flan and the fresh-tasting flavor of the guava sorbet. Will definitely be ordering these again!
Be the first to ReplyWe went on a Sunday for an early dinner.
Ample parking near or around the place. We were seated immediately. The wait staff was very friendly and accomodating - answered all our questions with a smile. We ordered a couple of margaritas, the regular one and the La Calenda margarita and a beer. The Pescado Tacos and Carnitas Tacos. 2 per serving was enough but we got 3 each. The ambience is cozy. Decor is authentic Mexican down to the tables, lights and huge place. There was a large group next to us but it wasn't too noisy. If you are looking for a spot that serves really well-prepared and delicious Mexican dishes. This is the perfect spot. Great date place for couples or a Spa weekend with the girlfriends. Good location within walking distance to other beautiful shops in Yountville.
Be the first to Replysoooooooo good!!! the best mexican in the napa valley.
amazing service, the best tacos, great margaritas. want something different from the normal napa cuisine? go here. thomas keller kills it!

First, very appreciative of the fact that they were able to accommodate our party of 12! We enjoyed a fantastic dinner after a day of wine tasting in Napa. We got margaritas and chips and guac for the table. The chips and guac were a fairly large portion and two orders were able to cover the entire table. I enjoyed everything we tried. The Caesar salad was delicious. The mole enchiladas were amazing and so heart warming!! The Al pastor tacos were really good! They also brought out a birthday dessert for our friend and that was very much appreciated!
Be the first to ReplyAlways happy after leaving La Calenda.
Fun and inviting atmosphere, great drinks, and even better food. The black bean and sweet potato enchiladas, and the chicken mole enchiladas keep us coming back. All of the tacos, and the churros are worth ordering again and again too. Will always come back and will always recommend to friends.

One of our go-to spots! Our favorites include the La calenda margarita, quesadilla de hongas, the tetela, the shrimp and the grilled chicken. The patio is also great and dog-friendly.
Be the first to ReplyWanted to try because of the Thomas Keller connection.
Overall, glad we did. Everything we ate hit the mark from a taste standpoint. What didn't hit the mark is that everything was a la carte. So, even if you order a so-called main plate of enchiladas (our chicken with mole was delicious), that's all you get. And the portions will never be described as huge. Rice and beans are sold separately and will run you $13.50 if you want both. How about some chips and salsa to start? Sure, no problem. Actually, it is a problem since it costs $17. For chips. And salsa. We opted out of all that and stuck to the starters and mains. It was all good. We just wanted more. For less.

For the food I would rate good, service ok, prices way to high maybe because of the location. But will definitely go elsewhere for a good Mex food!

The only reason to give this place a star at all is because they do have amazing salsa, but that's about it. I've eaten there once and it was OK. I usually stop though on my way out of town to pick up the delicious habanero salsa. The fact that Thomas Keller's is the chef and his name is associated with this place the customer service should be way better than what you receive here. I stopped again today, making this about 7th time I've stopped. The woman who helped me was so unpleasant and charged me for chips, but never have before paid for chips, just the salsa. Then the manager on duty was looking at my slip and had someone get containers for my salsa. I noticed and said that's the wrong size. He said ok ma'am we will get it for you, in a rude tone. I mean, it doesn't take 15 minutes to pour salsa into the containers, then do the wrong size. I got everything finally. My expensive bags of chips and all. Probably the last time I go. Ugh. People. Happy Friday!

Need a break from fancy, heavy dinners? Need something other than wine? This is your place! Beer, margaritas, chips, dip, ceviche, tacos, enchiladas, etc. Awesome outside eating area and atmosphere. Great, great Mexican food. But expensive. Highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyService was very good and outdoor seating was awesome.
No complaints there. It's just not very good Mexican food. Also, if you're a Crown Royal drinker or like flour tortillas, no go at this place. Won't personally return for food, but a drink on the patio could be worth it.

All recommendations by Jackie were on point, definitely ask for her top options:)Al Pastor Tacos, Barbacoa and Carnitas too
Be the first to ReplyFirst the good.
Service was excellent and the outside seating very nice. We brought a bottle of wine and no cork fee. Then came the food. Very disappointing. Very bland and not favorable. I have been to Oaxaca and this food was not even close. The enchilada were literally pork tacos tuned on their side with green chili sauce. A few white onions sprinkled on top. The pork had some taste the rest did not. I ordered the queso with chorizo and it came out runny and had a teaspoon of chorizo again very dull taste. What was even more disappointing is that I had to order rice separately. So for $6.50 I received a small bowl of white rice. I was told there is some famous chef that either owns this place or runs it. He or she needs to spend more time there. I can not recommend this place there are so many other places to go.

Waoo!! This restaurant it's so welcoming and the fish tacos are the best. I went with my friends on our ladies day out like 2 months ago and honestly the quality of food is amazing!! Just thinking on tacos now and I get a watery mouth. 100 % recommended if around Yountville.
Be the first to ReplyWe really wanted to try this restaurant.
We made reservations for the same day with no problem. The decision was made last minute, when our son came to visit us. He loves mescal and I read they have a good selection of mescal and tequila. We made it down to Yountville a little early and enjoyed walking around a little. We got to La Calenda about 10 minutes early and we were seated right away. We were waited on pretty quickly and had drinks and chips and salsa within a few minutes. We opted to not have the guacamole and I'm glad because the chips and salsa were good and it would have been too much before dinner. I had ceviche and elotes for dinner. My husband and our son had 3 orders of tacos so they could share. It was lots of food and it was excellent. Our son had a cocktail with mescal. It was strong and good. I feel bad for the people who wrote scathing reviews of La Calenda. We had an excellent experience. Though this did end up being an expensive night out, we did agree that we would love to eat here again. We had good service, good food, and we would like to try more things. The only complaint is not the restaurant's fault. We were seated near to the table of ladies celebrating a birthday. They were having fun and wanted everyone to know it.
Be the first to ReplyI'm so glad we stumbled upon La Calenda.
Hibiscus margarita was absolutely refreshing! We ordered mushroom quesadilla and elote was excellent! Fresh homemade corn tortilla and the mushrooms were tastey! This place left me craving it the next day! Will definately be back on our next visit to Yountville!
Be the first to Reply5-stars for noise, wow.
ย Loud music. ย Super loud restaurant. ย (Really punishingly loud to the extent that I doubt I would ever return). ย Flip side--Fabulous mezcal list---Cool bar atmosphere, particularly. ย Of the food, I enjoyed it, especially the corn tortillas which at most places lack La Calenda's touch (and I suspect fresh oil)-- not grainy, not oily, instead actually tasting like corn. ย But I don't think I would be compelled by the food to go back, certainly not enough to compete again with the noise.
Be the first to ReplyLa Calenda has been on my list for awhile now.
It's located on Washington street which makes it easy for parking & exploring nearby shops, bakeries, & coffee. We ordered house margaritas (7/10), fish tacos, el pastor tacos, and carnitas (I think), plus dessert. Get the fish tacos 10/10 will not be disappointed! All the flavors are impressive, dessert was ok but we've had better. Would recommend to make this a lunch stop if you have time! Giving 3 stars because it doesn't live up to the hype I was expecting.

Be the first to ReplyOaxaca style food.
Very charming interior, comfortable and clean, music was a little loud for my taste but that's ok because it was good music. I cannot say enough about the delicious elote. Definitely try it. I had fish tacos and they were great. Solid slate of Mexican beer. The place is pricey but the quality was there to justify it.
