An experience
Walked in and the missus was doing the wontons at the back table. Very polite people as opposed to the customers who were rather hostile to the pricing. Go elsewhere if you donโt like the price point. The bamboo rod is there to stiffen the gluten in the noodle flour. The more bounce, the more the crunch in your cake hole. I didnโt have the pleasure to see the pole in action. I did however take in the brisket and wontons. Give the brisket a wide curve, the wontons need to be dived into. Marvellous place. See it while you can

Way over-rated noodle shop & once a well proof that Michelin lack credibility when rating Chinese food. Noodle didnโt have any trace of alkaline but itโs more like ordinary egg noodle than wanton noodle. The noodle soup was too plain in taste & shrimp roes were bit too fishy. Wontons were not impressive at all but the pigโs knuckle was good. Way too expensive & hardly any value for money.

I tried a "soup noodle bowl #1" that had shrimp wontons, beef brisket, and added some crab roe wontons added on for an additional $9 HKD. The crab roe wontons were like a real clean taste of the sea, very, very good.... Place is clean, and English is spoken as well as English menus. Noodles have a delightful texture with a subtle and faint, earthy flavor. Well worth the 74HKD total bill. Very short and easy walk from the Chueng Sha Wan MTR station, walk straight out the C1 exit, cross the street and restaurant is located a few doors down from the corner.

The famous Kwan Kee Bamboo noodle is located close to the Cheung Sha Wan Station if you're riding on MTR. If you come at the right time, right in the front window, people can watch the chef seesawing on a bamboo pole making the noodles for the restaurant. Unfortunately I arrived late on Sunday so all the noodles had already been made for the day. One really nice thing is that this restaurant is very gringo friendly. They have an English menu and the waiter speaks better English than me. I basically knew what I wanted prior to arriving but I ordered: the number #1: this was won ton, bamboo noodles along with beef brisket. My wife loved the broth and actually the whole dish. Also the special on the wall for $85HKD: this was the bamboo noodles dry, beef brisket, pork knuckles, and four won ton. It was a large portion of food and a nice variety of meats. It's also served with one soft drink of choice. The service was extremely friendly, more so than any other place I've eaten at in Hong Kong. But the service matches the food which was fantastic. It comes with two nice dipping sauces to add a little flavor the soup or noodles. I would recommend everybody try Kwan Kee and make it one of your first stops in HK.

Very small place but I came here for the special noodle and this place didn't disappointed me a bit. The people are super busy but they treated me nice. I accidentally spill hot tea on myself and they brought me extra napkin and let me use their private restroom (it's not very nice but not for customers). If you're lucky and come at the right time when they make the noodle then it would be quite an experience.

I'm not a noodle expert, but the place is totally worth going. Not only for the excellent noodles the restaurant is well known for, but for the whole atmosphere of the place. It's ...lively, vibrant of life. Real life in the neighborhood , i.e. what real people do to live, love, eat.

I tried the soup version of the wanton noodles and found the noodles springy and without the alkaline flavor found in most wanton noodles. It's worth stopping by for a bowl if you plan to be in the vicinity.
