Not impressed.
I had pretty high expectations of this place. The appetizer was fine, but I had the chickpea small dish and the grilled lamb, both of which were meh. And their naan is also meh.

I don't understand why this restaurant is so highly rated. The food is awful and the place is noisy, basic and chaotic. We received at least three things we didn't order and we were missing a couple of dishes that we did. I felt we were encouraged to over-order, so I did try quite a few things on their very limited menu.staff were nice but clearly harassed by the sheer number of customers and extreme tightness of space at the communal banquettes downstairs. Snacks: Mirchi vada - the best thing on the menu. Light and spicy. Gave me misplaced hope Butter chicken kofta - also good, the snacks were the only good things on the menu. Small plates Samphire pakoras- tasteless. Avoid Chana masala- chick peas with hummus. Really weird. Did not work Lamb ribs - basically lamb fat, disgusting Larger Mutton curry- ok but very ordinary and bland Smoked pork belly - inedible as way too salty Dahl- utterly tasteless Sides Naan - ok but they initially have us some bread with green sludge all over it. Don't know what is was but it was soggy and horrible Meera pulao - ok Broccoli - possibly the worst thing we ate, but it's hard to choose. It was absolutely drowned in a 'walnut chutney' which was like an overpowering blue cheese sauce. Completely inedible Desserts Bhappa doi- a mishmash of all kinds of things which did not go together and tasted revolting Mango and lime kulfi- not frozen. Much too sweet. Obviously I am not returning. Definitely does not merit the high prices.

lots of small bite appetizer plates. i sat at the bar and the service was pretty good as well.

Be the first to ReplyExcellent ambience and food, slightly unexpected bill.
Clearly this is a place of distinction but keep in mind that your bill will have an additional 35% added to it after they add in a 15% discretionary charge and a 20% extra charge. The vibe of this place is great. Subtle interior design, wonderful lighting, and great music. Kricket definitely makes a good impression.! Food is mostly good. Fried chicken dish was cooked perfectly and a bit of interesting spice to it. Brown buttered naan was quite lovely. The daal dish was a bit strange and almost tasted gamey so we didn't have much of that. Cocktails were pleasant and subtle - just what was needed at about 4pm. The ridiculous charges at the end of the meal were eye popping. I've never seen an upcharge on the meal in my entire life, and that includes many, many fine dining institutions and places of distinction. It wasn't good enough to warrant that.

Our favorite place we dined in! They were able to accommodate 16 of us and our waiter was insanely kind/patient with our large group. He took the time to help us make the right decision with food recs and took our different dietary restrictions into consideration. There are also foods on the menu that are halal friendly. We decided to go with "A Taste Of Kricket" to make it easy for a family style brunch. Our standout foods were: pistachio kulcha, grilled butternut squash, goan sausage croquette, and dark chocolate dessert. I would come back just for the kulcha and squash! The cocktails were also very delicious. I ordered an espresso martini which was perfectly balanced with coffee and liquor. The North Of The River cocktail was my favorite on the menu.

When we first sat down, the helpful staff asked if there weee any food allergies, and she was completely helpful for him...ensuring he had an amazing meal while still staying well. I can't rave enough about this place with the devour, food and staff. Simply amazing!!!! We're lucky to have found it!

Snagged a last minute 8:30 table and was welcomed with great customer service. Water was constantly coming. Servers were beyond knowledgeable and helpful. Perfect balance of attentive without feeling like they're kicking you out. Started with Bhel Puri, an interesting rice dish. The fried chicken was super bland which is why I couldn't give a 5* rating. Tenderstem Broccoli was a great surprise with an awesome sauce. Great texture since everything else was heavy. The grilled lamb was a bit tough, but the sauce was a yummy balsamic which was perfect for the roti. On the flip side, the fish curry was cooked to perfection. Skip the dal. Very boring. We didn't even make it through half.

A delightful and amazing meal! We were fortunate to have theatre seating at the bar to watch all the magic happen! Chef Will Bowlby of Kricket Soho, offers a creative menu that features exceptional Indian flavors. And just as impressive as the food, the kitchen, bar and hospitality staff are a well oiled machine working together in harmony while keeping one of the cleanest and organized work spaces I have ever seen. We loved everything we ordered. Each of the small plates had a distinctly different flavor profile and we loved ALL of it! It was great talking to the chef and sous chefs during our meal, but watching Executive chef Will put his own final touch on absolutely every dish before it was delivered shows his passion and pride in his wonderful food! Everything is good, but don't miss the fried chicken, hake curry and the yogurt dessert. Bravo!!
Be the first to ReplyThe most incredible "Indian" cuisine I've ever had.
It is a mixture of traditional seasonings with a haute presentation. It's well worth the experience and expense. Everything on the menu is worth trying.

Very cozy and buzzy vibes in an unbeatable neighborhood and atmosphere. Hand crafted menu with amazing meat and vegetarian offerings - everything comes out quickly and pairs well together. I have to get the pakoras and pistachio naan every time. The cocktails don't disappoint either. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful but might rush you out to accommodate the next table.

Amazing flavors! Awesome staff, very friendly and accommodating. The place is small but intimate. I felt like I was visiting the chef in a special place, not just ordering, eating and leaving. Definitely try this place if you like a modern twist.

I love Indian food and have tried a lot of London's options, and I really loved Kricket's concept. It's not a traditional sit down Indian spot, but more-like Indian spices and flavors meets a Spanish tapas bar vibe. Really cool spot, highly recommend if you're looking for an Indian experience that's a bit less traditional but very tasty and lively.

First time at Kricket and I can definitely see why it got a Michelin Bib Gourmet, this place is amazing! Made a reservation far in advance, but I don't think that's 100% necessary as there seemed to still be a ton of seats for walk ins. Was seated quickly in a communal table downstairs.- Brown Butter Lachha Paratha - This is essentially just naan with a tiny bit of brown sugar flavor. To be honest, there's really no need to order the fancy "bread" because the entrees are definitely the star, this is more of a side. I did appreciate the slight char on it though.- Malai Tandoori Paneer - From now on, I will exclusively only eat paneer with honey, what an unexpected but beautiful combination! I really appreciate the char of the paneer with the sweet and salty honey which flavored the entire block of cheese. Also the baby onions weren't overpowering and was actually quite tender. - Keralan Fried Chicken - This was my favorite dish of the night. The breading of the chicken was spectacular as it wasn't super heavy or dense with slight saltiness flavor. Also I thought it went extremely well with the pickled daikon. I loved the curry mayonnaise they made in house which was quite light and balanced out the crunchiness of the chicken. Definitely a must get dish at Kricket. - Pandhi Pork Neck Curry - This is more of your traditional curry. Honestly not anything mind-blowing but it was pretty good especially to counterbalance the other dryer dishes.Overall, very solid restaurant in London that I would most definitely visit again. I was a bit worried that we didn't order enough for 2 people, but this was most definitely enough and it left us stuffed.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic flavors.
.. from the drinks options to the food menu... as a party of four we sampled options from each section. Our server had great recommendations! The garlic naan, vegetarian options, fried chicken, beef and fish were all amazing! Loved the coriander side. Thought we were too full, but the pear abs chocolate was a perfect ending to a memorable meal! Will return when we're back in London!

This place is an explosion of flavors from the first drink to the last morsel of dessert. We had the pork neck curry, the Lamb chops, the Clams, and the fries chicken. All were very tasty. Highly recommended and worth the stop in London.
Be the first to ReplyMy daughter and I ate there while I was visiting London.
That evening after we left the restaurant we were violently sick and it lasted two days. Unfortunate for me since I was only there for five days. Seems like good food but the after effects and consequences can be a killer. It ruined my holiday

Just two American Texans who popped in for a drink and snack on the recommendation from a gentleman from a pub. Hands down some of the best food either of us has ever put into our mouths. We bought the cookbook and are tempted to visit again within our two day trip to try more picky bites! The butternut squash will not disappoint and neither will the beef kabob. Again, best food we have had in the time we can remember!

Just in London visiting. Was looking for Indian fare and found Kricket on Yelp. When we got here I was expecting traditional Indian food but Kricket is more of a fusion style Indian food. We let our waiter, Antonio, select the dishes for us and he did not disappoint. The five dishes he selected were an unbelievable mix of flavors that took my breath away. So so good. I've never been to a restaurant that left me speechless, but Kricket absolutely did. If you haven't tried it I highly recommend it and if I'm ever back in London this will be my first stop. Thanks to Antonio and the entire staff for not only wonderful food but an amazing experience.

My husband and I tried Kricket for lunch on a recent trip to London. We spit about 5 dishes between the two of us-- the mussels, the garlic and coriander bread, and pakoras were some of our favorite dishes. Excellent ambiance and great beer/wine pairings to go with the food.
Be the first to ReplyIndian food is to Londoners as Mexican food is to Americans.
Londoners know how to do Indian food right. I'm not even sure what it is but it was amazing. The service was speedy and our waiter was super helpful in telling us how to order and what is most popular.
Be the first to ReplyA really accessible dining experience.
Went with a group of 6 so we were able to sample most of the dishes on the menu. Surprisingly, the vegetarian dishes outshine the meat options (except the fried chicken). The bread didn't wow me -- not quite fluffy or hot enough.

We decided to stop in for lunch in the middle of our work week and we were thrilled with the experience. The ambiance is hip and trendy and the service was great. We ordered the black daal, garlic naan, lamb with pomegranate, curried swordfish, brussels sprouts and rice. All of the plates are intended to share so it's great spot to enjoy as a group. The flavors were excellent - we look forward to returning in the future!

This is an Indian fusion restaurant owned by a couple of brits. The chef is an Indian who used to work at a famous hotel in Bombay. It is certainly not your usual Indian fair so if you feel adventurous, this may be a place for you. The ambiance is quite hip and modern, an upbeat vibe if you will. The food contains items not usually part of Indian cuisine such as beef and pork, nonetheless they are cooked with clear Indian influences. Even though this is an Indian fusion restaurant, the food was not lacking In spice or quantity. The portions were decent. The dal was tasty, and the beef kebab was also quite delicious. I would have loved to see more sauce, however. The menu could also use some enhancements and additions. All in all, I enjoyed my dinner!

+ Ask the server which food is good.+ Order a Spiced Masala Chai with Rum (Y-U-M)Honestly every food item we got was superb. Not one plate was bad. The blast of flavor in each dish was so tasty. We ordered about 6 food items for 3 people, the dishes are not large they are small so you should order more than one plate per person. Yes it is pricy, but this trendy food is well worth the price. 5/5 No doubt.
