😒 3/5 - I came in with high expectations and left feeling a bit

I came in with high expectations and left feeling a bit disappointed. In a vacuum, the food tastes good, but I felt the restaurant missed on a few executions. Considering its price point, I'm hesitant to go back. What went well: the stir fried Cornish greens with soy. A very cool aspect about the restaurant setup is that many seats are seated by the open kitchen, and I particularly enjoyed watching the flames and stir fry. There's a certain "spirit of the wok" ("wok hei" 锅气 in Cantonese) that, when imparted into veggie stir fry, is incredible. This was one of those hits. Unfortunately, that was the only standout. For some of the other dishes, the flavour (and textures) just don't come together: 1/ Langoustines with green strawberry and mint felt like a random assembly with no clear narrative, and the langoustine meat was hard to pick out. Also, there was nowhere to discard the langoustine shells. 2/ The spicy red curry (forgot the fish) did not contain strong seafood umami as I'd expect! The fish is only plated into the curry a few moments before serving, meaning the natural flavour of the fish doesn't get much time to seep in. The fish also comes with bones too, be warned. 3/ Each diner only gets a small plate that isn't switched out before courses. This is rather inconvenient because: (a) how does one eat curry from a small plate (not bowl), and (b) where do the discarded bones/shells etc. go? Form over function was unfortunately a recurring theme throughout the meal.
