AMAZING, if you could get in...
The best Sushi in Dallas, Texas. I love this spot! The owner is amazing and everything I've ordered was impeccable. The only problem with Keichii is you cannot get a reservation. This is a problem. I would book a year out once a month, but even on New Years Day I couldn't get reservations. I believe this is due to a new software getting all the reservations for the year and then selling them. I do not like this.

I have eaten Sushi all over the world.....excluding Japan. I would rather eat here then any other place I've been too including Akkiko, Nobu, Uchi, etc... Highly highly recommend, if you can get a table.

This little Gem is not much to look at. The beauty is in the amazing food that is served. We started off with the Grilled Octopus and the Beef Tataki. Both were amazing. I should tell you I was a bit nervous about the Octopus. It was tender and so tasty. The Beef Tataki was as silky as butter in your mouth with a hint of sweetness. last but not least was the Mushroom Risotto was rich and delicious. We will be returning

Tried forever to get reservations here but kept waiting to the last minute which you will not get a table. Finally got it together and went with friends and had a fabulous experience. The owner/chef was amazing and friendly the food was 5 star and the fact that he is in Denton and not New York or LA is shocking. There are only a few tables and a few seats at the sushi bar so make your reservations as early as you can and enjoy a fantastic meal.
Be the first to ReplyBest Japanese in Texoma region
This is the best Japanese restaurant I've ever dined at, and I've done some good ones. Three warnings: 1. This is not a place for you if you don't already like and know Japanese cuisine; 2. It is expensive. If you eat well you'll be lucky to get out for $200 per person (but worth every nickel.) 3. Reservations are difficult to get, don't try a walk-in, it's small, one counter, sometimes they use the bar area, but you can't assume they're expandable. This was my second visit to Keiichi, and it was even better than the first time. I was lucky enough to be seated next to a family with a similar profession to mine who were fun to talk to. EXCELLENT waitress, friendly chef, and fantastic food. I started with clam miso soup (best I ever had, fresh, delicious clams in-shell, floating.) Then I ordered an "appetizer," Tasmanian sea trout in a citrus/ginger sauce, each slice wonderfully delicious; my second plate was a roll with avocado and snow crab, (excellent); I had the sake "flight" sampling three sakes, all good, but not junmai daijinjo. Then I decided to end with the tuna/avocado dish with a threadlike veggie on side (didn't know or ask name.) I want to go back soon, but live over 200 miles from Denton. it's a great experience. No downside to food or service.
Be the first to ReplySloopy Sushi & Boiled Ribs
After reading the rave reviews, I anticipated world-class sushi. Instead, we got sushi slopped on a plate and ribs that were boiled. In TX - boiled ribs. Never again.
Be the first to ReplyDate Night sushi and steak!
Have lived in area for last five years and have only heard of this gem! Finally got a last minute reservation and all the hype lived up! Simply amazing! The chefs special and various sushi is amazing flown in weekly and super fresh chef K and Mei Lau and Tara great hosts. The steak is actually one of best I’ve ever had; very unique and sauce is amazing with truffle mashed potatoes. Is hard place to get into reservations required way in advance only reason we have not tried it yet... amazing small venue!
Be the first to ReplyHow in the World could you give Keiichi a bad review?
I shake my head about some of the poor reviews for Keiichi. They all seem to have one thing in common. People disregard the instructions about having to have reservations. They show up at the door of this superb restaurant (with about 12 bar seats and one 8 top table) and get turned away. Then they trash the place. Here's a hint: you have to have reservations and expect to wait two to three weeks to get in. Sometimes shorter, sometimes longer based on time of the year. If you give Keiichi a one star, you are either being vengeful because you didn't have reservations or you simply don't know how to appreciate good sushi. So: if you can appreciate a Tokyo style sushi bar, where you are across the bar from a master sushi chef, who makes your food right in front of you, uses the best and freshest fish I've had anywhere in Dallas, (from Nobu, right down to the neighborhood place), then this is worth doing. It's expensive because of the quality of the fish. Keiichi isn't a conversationalist. BTW: explore his menu and you will find extraordinary Italian dishes, out of this world deserts, etc. So, if you don't like world class sushi and Italian, if you want a cheap meal, if you don't like to make reservations and love the spontaneity of just dropping in unannounced, then don't go here. You are not worthy.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food in intimate setting
It takes months to get reservations for a reason. There are only a few seats in the place. But it has to be like that to enable the chef to maintain his high standards. This is not a high volume operation. The food is top notch though.
Be the first to ReplyA really unusual dining experince
This is not only the best restaurant in Denton but one of the finest that I have found in the entire Metroplex. I will caution that you need to get reservations weeks well in advance. The sushi, the sashimi, the tenderloin, and the Italian dishes all are as good as I have had anywhere. And the atmosphere is delightful.
Be the first to ReplyOne of the best Sushi experiences around
Be sure to plan well in advance if you want to visit Keiichi. Small and intimate setting with everything made fresh for each guest. Some of the best sushi we've had in the DFW area. Would go back again anytime!
