Kebab aur Sharab New York Reviews from The Last Year
Went in on a Friday late evening for a dinner and the place
Went in on a Friday late evening for a dinner and the place was relatively packed. The music was good and the service was excellent. We were also celebrating a birthday and the hosts were gracious and they celebrated the birthday in a big way! The food was mostly good with the butter chicken tikka and the Kashmiri pulao being exceptionally good but the other veg dishes were a hit and a miss. The paneer Dora kebab was dry and the rose petal paneer kofta was too sweet (I think the rose flavor took over the entire dish and the sweetness of the rose was all we could taste). The chaat was good too. The cocktails were also on average just average.

This was highly recommended by my friend, so we decided to meet here for dinner last night. The prices are quite high, so be prepared for a high bill. The service was excellent. Our server was very friendly and constantly kept checking on us. The cleaning staff were taking away dirty plates proactively. When we didn't like one of the items, both the manager and the chef came out to get our feedback and why we didn't like the dish. Now to the food. We got the following: - Aaloo Tikki Chaat: this was really good. The Tikki was crispy, well cooked, and I loved all the chutneys it was surrounded with. - Dahi Kabab: this does taste like it has paneer in it, but it is hung yoghurt. It's very good and worth trying if you like yoghurt that way. - Daal Makhani: I'm a Daal Makhani snob, being from Delhi. It was not the best I've had, but quite good. - Saag Paneer: this was ok. Nothing special. - Chai Cake: I wasn't a fan of this dessert. The ice cream is not sweet at all, and the cake was a bit dry for my liking. - Saffron Pancakes: this is a twist to the traditional Rasmalai. But I loved the tiny chocolate pieces on it. The whole dessert was delicious. Overall, a great place to dine. The seating is a bit tight, but then it's NYC. The non-vegetarian options I hear are way better than the vegetarian ones.

Food was good but didn't see much of a difference compared to an authentic Indian restaurant. The reason for the drop in star is due to the price of the food. I know they are trying to be high end but the food seemed pretty similar to an average Indian restaurant.

One of my new favorite Indian restaurants in the city! The ambiance is so warm and inviting with a beautiful interior. We were seated in the back. The vegetarian items we ordered were the dal makhani which was so creamy and delicious. The rose petal paneer kofta was my favorite with a fragrant creamy sauce. We also ordered chili garlic naan which was delicious. The service was OK. Overall, I would definitely visit again. Make sure to make reservations.
The "famous" butter chicken was really bad.
The chicken itself was very fatty, lots of connective tissue, very little actual meat. I know they use chicken thighs, but they trimmed them really poorly. And while the spice level of the sauce was fine, there really was no flavor other than "heat". Couldn't really taste the tomatoes or any other ingredients. And the garlic naan was just terrible. Really dry, no butter, no flavor. To their credit, when the server pressed me on why I'd left so much of the food, she told someone and they brought the chef over. He really wanted feedback, which is great. But they didn't offer to replace the dish with something else, or to take the butter chicken or naan off the bill.
Interior was fine.
We had a table near the front of the restaurant - alittle cramped but it's NYC so to be expected. Service was fine. My husband ordered the butter chicken. He thought the chicken was very grisley - lots of connective tissue and the sauce itself was one note. Seemed to be missing the tomato, ginger flavors. I tried the chicken changezi. I also noticed the same issue with the chicken but sauce was flavored better. The garlic naan was also very dry and alittle crunchy - not what you expect from freshly cooked naan. A cook did come out to talk with us and say that they choose to use thighs because they don't dry out as much as breasts which I don't doubt but you can still prep the meat so that it's not grisley and you can also prepare chicken breasts so they are not rubbery. I was underwhelmed to say the least.
Drinks food service - everything was awesome.
Highly recommend. Ambiance is great too

A lively spot for Indian eats on the UWS -- the bar area in the front is beautiful, and they have plenty of tables in the back too. I recommend ordering family-style for the table. My personal favorites were the Fish Curry and Bangin Baigan. The Chai Cake may have been the star of the show! Good food, solid service and great vibes -- I'd come back!

With the closing of Sapphire, we were looking for a good Indian restaurant for our neighborhood. Kebab Aur Sharab is ok, the food is fine, though somewhat overpriced. Recently, they've covered their windows, which makes the place look uninviting and has a negative effect on the look of the street as well. Passing by, at first I thought it went out of business. With a few changes, this could be a go-to place, but it isn't at the moment.

Great service and cool ambiance, seemed like each part of the restaurant had a good vibe! We ordered quite a few dishes for the table- some favorites were the Butter Chicken Tikka Kebabs and the Bangin Baigan. Favorite from the night was the Chai Cake for dessert!

Delicious food! Had heard a lot about this restaurant and ended up coming for dinner. We were seated in the outside portion and we didn't really mind it. The inside was nicely decorated. Our favorite was definitely the butter chicken tikka. Favorite drink was the mango mezcal drink. Would come back!

Ambience 5/5 Food 5/5 Service 5/5!! This beautiful Indian restaurant left me thoroughly impressed with its delicious cuisine. From the moment I stepped in, the aromatic spices filled the air, instantly whetting my appetite. The ambience was warm and inviting, with vibrant colors adorning the walls and soft Indian music playing in the background. My god, the menu offered a wide range of authentic Indian dishes, each bursting with flavors that delighted my taste buds. Bone marrow palao and fish curry were amazing. The attentive staff provided excellent service, ensuring a memorable dining experience. I am already eager to return to this restaurant and indulge in their delectable offerings once again.
Good Indian food is hard to come by these days.
The food here is authentic, flavors are real. Friendly staff. Definitely a must try !
4.5/5 Kebab aur Sherab is a refined & creative taken on
4.5/5 Kebab aur Sherab is a refined & creative taken on proper Punjabi cuisine. The menu is perfectly designed to include a choicest variety of mouthwatering items with quirky names. The ambiance gives off a modern Anglo-Indian vibe with chill desi beats playing in the background. Definitely try their paan cocktail, sheermal, dal makhni, bangin' baingan, famous butter chicken, paneer shashlik and Chai cake. Roomali roti is overrated and is not soft as you'd expect. It almost tasted like tortilla. Service is top notch. Prices are a bit high but can't complain. Kebab aur Sharaab is more than it's name, it's a solid Indian spot that pushes boundaries- will surprise you & delight you.
Rushed service.
They give you an hour for your dinner reservation even if you order multiple courses.
Ate here for the second time tonight - it is the best
Ate here for the second time tonight - it is the best Indian food I have had in Manhattan, by far. A tremendous meal. All the food was great; service was great; cocktails were phenomenal. We had a great dessert (saffron pancakes) too. The place was packed all night - we arrived at 8 on a Friday night, and it was still full when we left at 10:30. My friend (just back from a trip to India) could not stop raving about the meal and put it best - a true "sensory expeirence." Run, don't walk.

It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
