My first time here.
Had one the best eating experience ever. The wagyu beef sandwich is a must try. Cooked to perfection. The staff was pleasantly eager to please. The ambiance was simple yet elegant. Worth it. If you like Japanese and you haven't tried this place in Houston, you've missed out. Enjoy!

Chirashi bowl 5/5 Miso Eggplant with Grilled Sushi Rice 4/5 Wagyu Sando 4/5 Overall one of my favorite spots for a nice meal to celebrate an occasion or treat yourself. My go to is the Chirashi bowl during the lunch menu, which offers a good selection of different fish and seafood along with a nice bowl of rice for a very reasonable price. The other appetizers are also delicious, but is a little bit more pricy for the amount of food, though I feel like this speaks more about the value of Chirashi bowl. That said, the Miso eggplant is absolutely delicious. I devoured the dish wayyyy too quickly to get a photo, but its composed with triangle blocks of grilled rice and two-bite size blocks of eggplant paired with a miso sauce. It offers an awesome intro to the meal, though let me hoping the dish is just a little larger. The Wagyu sando is also super delicious. But this may be a little personal preference, but there the sauce is a little too strong and covers the natural taste of the wagyu itself, but I would still strongly recommend you giving it a try, because it will be one of the most tender bites you will ever have!

Space is large and tables were clean. Attire: chill Kobe beef skewers - this was very soft and (almost melting in your mouth) Lobster and crab ramen - lobster was okay. This would be better if it was spicier. Tropical spicy tuna - this came very quick after we ordered - This was very good. Everything complimented each other and was not heavy on the rice. I made a reservation tonight, but they made me wait for almost an hour. There were always people around me who showed up and got a seat without making a reservation. As a result, my friend immediately gave him a seat. She may not know that we are at the same table. In the future, Won't go again

No notes! This is one of my favorite sushi spots, and I was surprised to see that I have never reviewed it before. Ambiance is Houston casual but you can also dress up if you like. The specials are always good, and I also love the sashimi platter for 2. I also really like the Texas Hamachi roll. We always receive great service here, which keeps us coming back!

all the dishes we got were delicious! yuzu marinated salmon: 8/10 - light, fresh and citrusy lobster and crab ramen: 8.5/10 - rich, intense flavor, and creamy. decent bit of lobster and crab meat. just wish the noodles had a better chew to them. texas wagyu skewers: 9/10 - holy moly. melt in your mouth. absolutely delicious! definitely need to try the wagyu sando next time to see how it compares u10 scallops: 8/10 - a unique sauce and great presentation. the scallops were cooked perfectly! the sauce was more on the sweet side, so be wary of that. texas hamachi: 7.5/10 - tasty roll overall, not much to say about this one green tea cheesecake soufflé: 9/10 - a great way to finish a meal here! it's like i'm biting into a cloud. the dessert itself is very light with limited sweetness, so if you're looking for something decadent, this probably isn't for you. it was served with red bean ice cream which also wasn't too sweet. server was very attentive and kind. definitely a must try restaurant in houston and would come back for sure!

Wagyu sandwiches- 7/10 very tender and yummy Toro & ikura roll- 10/10 Hamachi & jalapeño- 10/10 one of my go to appetizers Miso marinated black cod- 7/10 was cooked perfectly but I would've liked some more flavor Miso lobster macaroni & cheese- 10/10 my favorite dish of the night Green tea soufflé cheesecake- 9/10 the ice cream it came with was delicious and I love the warm cheesecake and ice cream combination

When in Houston looking for upscale sushi, this is the place to go!
A friend of mine recommended it and my friend was right. Excellent place had the yellowtail fish cheeks, Octopus, grilled Robata,tobiko, Unagi, all terrific loved every minute of it.

This place is among the Mt Rushmore of the best Houston restaurants in my honest opinion. From everything with the high class service, the quality of the food, and then ambiance, it's something that's hard to top. One of my favorite bites I've ever had the pleasure of biting is the beef sando. Fantastic recommend that enough. Had the chef's omakase for 6 pieces and did not disappoint. Always a surprise in what they'll bring out

Kata is my family favorite sushi place in Houston The sashimi piece are twice the size of most other sushi restaurants. Our favorite rolls are the Longhorn and Texas hamachi even though we do not usually eat rolls. We prefer sashimi. Other favorite are to eat hamachi kama. Service is always great and all the drinks are terrific!

Superb food, as usual
Kata Robata is, unarguably our favorite Japanese restaurant in town. Sushi and sashimi are always very fresh and of the highest quality. Other Japanese dishes are also deserving of attention, since they are prepared with care. Kata Robata offers about 8 Sakes by the glass and many more by the bottle. The wine list is modest, but still offers about 20 wines by the glass and about three times as many by the bottle. Service is prompt and helpful. Prices are higher than in most other Japanese restaurants, but I guess the quality of the food warrants it.
Ordered to go bento boxes.
Ordered these same ones several times before with no issues, however, this time both boxes had less food. much smaller portions, very little vegetables, much less chicken, tofu was only 3 small pieces instead of 4 good size pieces, and the California roll was even smaller portion on both boxes. Very disappointing.
Kata Robata made me fall in love with sushi.
Before I dined, I didn't really like sushi but kata's fresh, high quality, and delicious sushi changed that real quick. All the waiters are knowledgeable with their suggestions. All of their sushi is so so so good. My favorites outside of the sushi are the katsu sando (super rich and filling) and the ramen. Can't sing enough praise about Kata! Plenty of parking in the plaza!

Great fresh high quality sushi! Arrival: we did not have reservation for lunch. We said we would sit at the sushi bar and we were able to be seated right away. I don't mind watching sushi masters make their creations. It is like lunch and a show! Food: ordered lunch bento box of black cod. The black cod was buttery and then soy sauce miso glaze was delicious compliment to enhance the delicate cod. The teriyaki chicken was tender and very flavorful. The fried silken tofu was gentle and crunchy, and perfect side. The sushi roll was well prepared too. I truly enjoyed my bento box. We also ordered the sushi lunch plate and wow that was delicious and flavorful too.
Where Tradition Meets Contemporary Japanese Dining
A place you should visit if you like Japanese food. Excellent service and food, we sat on the counter seat. The sashimi, nigiris and Texas Kobe Beef Skewer were espectacular. Whether you crave sushi or robatayaki, this restaurant delivers an great Japanese dining experience that will leave you thoroughly impressed and eager for your next visit.
Late Night Delicious
This excellent sushi restaurant is open fairly late in a busy area with lots of good restaurants. We picked up some great desserts at a shop nearby while we waited for our table. Excellent service and excellent sushi at Kata Robata. Be sure to get the ridiculously wonderful lobster mac-n-cheese too!

I really liked this resturants take on sushi! The resturant was beautiful and so were the plates! I loved our waitress and will definitely be back!
Very good Japanese restaurant
Good food and the staff is friendly. Unfortunately the level of noise is very high, you can barely hear each other when talking. Don't expect big portions but dishes are well presented and food fresh made .
A superior immersion in Japanese food
The first few times we visited kata Robata, we went for the Sushi: it was superb, although on the pricy side. Then, we discovered all the other Japanese delicacies. Now we visit with prepared to enjoy a different type of Japanese food each time. On this most recent visit, we started with Foie Gras & Duck Chawanmushi (arguably a French/Japanese fusion dish), which was spectacular. The oyster mushrooms paired perfectly with the foie gras, and the oyster mushrooms provided a wonderful background. The Uni Chawanmushi was another perfect dish: the fresh sea urchin, so sweet and tender, was enhanced by by the shiitake mushrooms and both dishes benefited from the egg custard. The spicy soy Ramen is as good a Ramen you'll get anywhere in Houston and the Lobster and Crab Ramen is a real step-up. By now, in addition to a good selection of Sake and Japanese beer, Kata Robata has a creditable selection of Western wines, so, it's dealer's choice.
Excellent food
The food is excellent and the service is great. Portions a bit small but very well presented. One of us had birthday the day we were there and they offered dessert for all 4 of us. I found the red beans ice-cream very intriguing. Overall the combination of the ingredients of the various dishes was very pleasant.

* FulfilledThread16 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to FulfilledThread16 for any questions Peter may have as FulfilledThread16 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* FulfilledThread16 now uses their connections at Kata Robata Houston to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If FulfilledThread16 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, FulfilledThread16 receives the $200 reward which is credited to FulfilledThread16's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
