My fam and I were looking for a steakhouse to dine while we were in LA when we came across JW via a Yelp recommendation. The restaurant is located in the Marriot hotel. The prices were reasonable, and the staff was friendly. Our food was delicious, but nothing award-winning. We started off with their version of the Caesar salad, which had the white anchovies. Personally, I'm not a fan of white anchovies, and prefer the more saltier less quality for Caesar salad. I didn't appreciate that. They charge for bread and butter, but I guess that's what restaurants are doing out to cut back. I had the garlic sauté shrimp, which was an appetizer, but I had it as accompanying my mail, and My Sister had the steamed mussels and clams. They are very good.

Intimate dining with happy staff members. Pleasantly surprised with my meal

What a wonderful meal, and Lisa was an Amazing server! She recommended the best items for us. The lobster bisque, watermelon salad, rack of lamb, and the sea bass were all divine!!! I loved my Pisco sour, and the lemon drop was extremely tasty. Lisa recommended the perfect chardonnay to compliment the sea bass. We loved this restaurant, and the next time I am in town, it will be on the list, especially when staying at this Marriottt.

Great service!! The steak (fillet mignon) lacked some flavor. The fish and French onion soup was amazing Yeah

My reward for taking a friend to the airport Marriott was dinner at JW's. Had the filet, grilled vegetables and risotto. All were excellent and served exceptionally by Augustin. If you have the opportunity to dine at JW's ask for Augustin's table. You won't be disappointed. Looking forward to picking up by friend in a few weeks and hopefully get offered dinner as reward. What a treat to have such good food and great service.
Be the first to ReplyVery nice meal.
We were celebrating our daughter's birthday and Grace made the evening a great success! I had the bone marrow and the well prepared ribeye with a very generous portion of mushrooms. The smoked Old Fashioned (they call it the Honey Don't Leave) was delish! I topped it off with a Laphroaig and bread pudding. (I think the bar tender slipped...he or she poured a double (triple?) for a single!). Very nice finish to a great meal. I don't get to LAX very often, but next time, I'll go out of my way to have a meal at the JW Steakhouse. Grace was attentive without hovering...awesome service!

The service was perfect! Willie treated us teachers who were enjoying dinner while at a conference with the respect and admiration. He made us feel valued. The setting was a perfect atmosphere for close conversation over good wine and fine food. Low lighting but not dark. Warm and comforting. The food was lovely. Although our vegetarian friend found the options limited, the sides were pleasing and sufficiently offered us all options to have a fulfilling meal family style. The mushrooms were the favorite for all, although the risotto was somewhat disappointing. The crab cake was a pleasing starter. Although none of us ended up eating red meat, the seafood options satisfied. The scallops offered a unique topping which distinguished the flavor. The lobster bisque was the favorite flavor of the night. This restaurant allowed us to feel we were able to indulge and treat ourselves without leaving the training site at the Marriott.

Enjoyed the food! Roy as the host was very nice and accommodating. The wait staff was very nice, however we felt a little forgotten. Might have been good thing to save us from having too many Martinis as they were very good! Love the watermelon salad. However it could use a little spice. Overall good experience
Be the first to ReplyOK, so this is an upscale steakhouse within the Marriott.
The food quality and ingredients are very good however the presentation and garnishments or not up to snuff. The crabcakes were wonderful and truly delectable . The grilled watermelon salad was meh. It just sounded interesting since you don't hear about grilled watermelon very often. Besides, logically, what does it really mean to grill something that's mainly made of water ? The lamb chops were good, but looked so bland on the plate with absolutely nothing to dip them in. They tasted above average, but they weren't superb. The filet mignon was definitely extremely tasty but again, it looks so bland on the plate ! Not even some vegetables or even aesthetic greens on the plate. Looks like something I could do myself at home with a grill and a high-quality piece of meat. I think Ruth Chris would've been similar quality for a lot less cost and probably a better overall experience . I expected more from Marriott, especially in a place like this.
Be the first to ReplyVery disappointed in a place with $70 a la carte steaks.
I had beef short rib that was so incredibly overcooked I had to send it back. Server seemed unconcerned. I also asked for more water which was never received. Granted they were busy on New Year's Eve but refilling water glasses without requesting should be a common courtesy.

Seated pretty quickly and our server, Elvis was very attentive and friendly. We ordered a Porterhouse which didn't look like it was a 22 oz but ended up enough for us to split. On the salty side but very tender. Pricey at $80 and sides all carte around $18-20. Two of us splitting a steak came to $135.

When you go to a JW restaurant you have a certain level of expectations, which is why you choose them in the first place. Entry was great, Valet perfect on arrival, no reservation, but pleasantly seated right away. Great so far... Waitress was a bit hard to hear and understand, but she was very pleasant and patient, meeting our JW expectations. I ordered the rib eye and my lovely wife had short ribs. Mine was tough, more like a sirloin texture and not a quality piece of beef. The short ribs were inedible. Overcooked like crazy. I figured that though it was an airport hotel, being a J.W. It would serve high quality meals. This time, I was wrong.

This restaurant located within the Marriott hotel by the LAX airport is in the lobby, but once you get seated it is very intimate. Service was quick, Elvis was quick to make sure our drinks were never empty. Everyone helped each other out, which was nice to see. The complimentary pretzel bread was ah-mazing. Dripping in butter, I could have eaten a whole basket of these. Definitely try the crab cake. Big hunks of real crab meat, none of that bread filler that other places use to beef up their crab cakes. This is a steakhouse, so the steaks were on point. Salty, delicious, tender. My short ribs basically melted into the potatos. And the sauce!!! Omg. Be prepared to pay out the a$$ tho, this is an upscale steakhouse with a la carte sides. The baked potato was big enough for two of us though, and we shared the crab cake but I wish we got our own lol. The desserts looked good and big servings, but we were stuffed. Would come again, but be prepared for sticker shock. It's one of two restaurants in the hotel, so you're stuck unless you want to drive somewhere in LA traffic.

This was an AMAZING steakhouse!!! The food here is absolutely incredible. Our server Lisa was extremely nice, great smile and gave us the best service. I would highly recommend coming here. The old fashioneds are really good here. I had the Porter house steak, mushrooms with the scallops. This is a Great steakhouse!!

This is my 2nd time dining at the JW Marriott Steakhouse, so I thought I would write a review. My brother was in town, plus it was my birthday, so we decided to meet here for dinner. The service was great, and the food really good, even better than the first time I dined here. Be sure to have the hostess valid your parking, otherwise parking is very expensive. Our party had cocktails, lobster, steaks, and sides. All the food was really good with the exception of the asparagus, which I was as told was just ok. The waiter even brought out cheesecake on the house because of my birthday. All in all we had a really nice dinner, and I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Stayed at the LAX Marriott and was happy to see an outpost of the JW Steakhouse was there! Menu was a little different than the London location and the food/service as just as exceptional. Started with the onion soup, lobster bisque, crab cakes and charcuterie. Server was kind enough to give us fresh bread to take home with the leftovers. For dinner we each had a different steak. Perfection! Note that the steaks do not come with any included sides so be mindful that the yummy mushrooms and potatoes are extra. Having this dining option on the property will sway me to stay here again.
Be the first to ReplyI found myself here meeting with some work colleagues.
The atmosphere was perfect for a lively conversation and some great red wine. They have an extensive wine list which should be indulged. They have a nice breadbasket with an array of options, which is ideal to help offset your wine consumption. I turned two appetizers into my meal, I enjoyed the lobster bisque, which was filled with plenty of succulent lobster and it had a perfectly warmed bisque (A grade). I stayed with the seafood theme and also ordered the crab cakes, which included two big cakes, they were good, but not amazing (B grade). Our server, Elvis, was on point and very attentive to our every need. Generally speaking, the dinner was very good, but made all the better by the company, and the wine. Make sure you validate your parking with the restaurant, otherwise you are in for sticker shock. About the restaurant, per their website... Indulge in diverse and delectable fare at JW Steakhouse. All in all a fine experience but if you are in the mood for a mind-blowing steak, keep looking.

Was brilliantly surprised with this steakhouse !! Service was over the top and friendly. Started with a yummy cocktail and the shrimp. Shrimp melted I our mouths, cooked perfectly- one request more garlic but that's just us. Surf & turf next - by far the best steak I've had in a LONG time. Prepared perfectly, succulent and just plain fabulous. Best lobster ever ... would have never guessed it was prob frozen before hand. Juicy and tasty I would highly recommend this place and it's a great way to start your vacation

One of the best meals and awesome service that I have had in I don't know when. Ajillo shrimp plump and succulent and delicious. Filet and tail, cooked to perfection and perfectly seasoned, both melt in your mouth. Over the top service everything perfectly timed. What a pleasant surprise from a hotel restaurant!
Be the first to ReplyFor a business meeting, we had to meet close to LAX.
I recommended this steakhouse since I had a good dinner years ago. I was hoping it is still good and I was not disappointed! We started with crab cake app - definitely recommend it. It was done right with 90% crab meat and not just fillings like many other restaurants. Very good crab cakes!Followed by lamb chops and filet - all were excellently prepared ! Definitely recommend this steakhouse !!

Overall, for the location, I think this place was an excellent choice for a Christmas day dinner after a canceled flight. Went there, I got seated promptly, not too long after we had gotten from the airport to the hotel, sat down, and got our food and ordered. I think, overall, though, I give it for stars, because the service was a little slow. The food was good, but about what you would expect from a higher and executive style hotel, but overall good food, great portions, just could be a little bit better in terms of service.
Be the first to ReplyThey fumbled right from the start.
Reservations didn't seem to matter. Over 30 min late getting seated. Under staffed and the team struggled in the service department. The crab cakes were tasty, but would have been much better hot. Asparagus and potatoes also warm. Flag on the play! My rib eye was just pretty good. Not a touchdown! Not the Super Bowl steak experience I was expecting. Who Dey!!!

Surprised to be so impressed with a restaurant in a hotel as that is not my style . Had a business meeting / dinner and the ambiance was nice and comfortable and appropriate for a steakhouse . The waitress was fantastic and spot on . We all had steaks and everyone thoroughly enjoyed them . Sides of French fries, mushrooms were tasty and perfectly cooked. A wonderful evening was enjoyed by all.

The service wasn't great but it wasn't bad either given the fact that they were busy and probably understaffed however, the seafood entree I got was delicious short rib we ordered was either overcooked and dry or just not a good quality piece of meat. The cocktail was extremely too sweet but the crab cakes and French onion soup was delicious
