Perfect
Very nice restaurant in the centre. Food was fresh. Served fast and friendly. Drinks were nice. Everything was perfect.

We arrive unexpectedly and the only places available are at the bar. We accept because the restaurants are crowded and we are coming back from a visit to a plantation (Oak Alley). We choose the rigatoni bolognese...really delicious. A glass of dry red, Pommard de Jadot. A chocolate cake completes the whole thing. Really very good. Recommended !!

Steak frites was delicious. Really well flavored and well cooked. Fries were delicious. Sticky toffee pudding also good (but ice cream only ok). Service was very efficient. 80s hit playing and gorgeous looking restaurant.

The management who runs this restaurant need not be in this business. Never treated this way in all my years of dining out. Truly the worst. They should be ashamed of themselves for the way they treat guests.

Josh is a fun and snarky but entertaining server. The drinks, appetizers and food were spot on! We will most definitely come back for dinner. If you have not eaten here, you should!! They took reservations for 8 and we were never ignored ❤️
Be the first to ReplyA Great Choice for French (Not Creole or Cajun) Cuisine in the French Quarter
We visited Justine on a very busy Saturday night. The food, drinks, atmosphere, and service were all top-notch. The location is also very convenient to those staying in lower Canal St hotels.
Be the first to ReplyThe absolutely perfect Southern brunch!
We wanted to try out Chef Justin Devillier's newest venture, Justine, after dining at La Petite Grocery on a previous visit to New Orleans. We decided on brunch, which proved to be an outstanding experience from beginning to end. All drinks and food were delicious, but the shrimp and grits were hands down the best ever I've eaten in New Orleans (and I've tried many). The bread pudding sticks are also out of this world. The space is absolutely gorgeous (we found the atmosphere of the front room that opens up onto the street to be perfect for brunch, but are already thinking of going back for dinner in the very stylish main dining room). And finally, a shout-out to our server, Kearney, who was absolutely fantastic. There are so many restaurants in the French Quarter to choose from, but based on our experience, we will be recommending Justine without any hesitation!

Stopped for brunch while walking by. Seated at the bar the bartender very nice. When other people in my party received their orders I waited for mine. My wife completed her food and I still did not receive me Regis and bacon. I told bartender to just cancel my order cause my family was done eating and still nothing. When manager was notified of me canceled order and became very defensive and rude . Never apologize. Just told us to pay our check and leave.

My Fiancé and I chose Justine for a romantic dinner on the last night of our vacation. The restaurant had a laid back but sophisticated vibe that we were looking for. Our server, Eric, was polite and gave great suggestions. The food was DELICIOUS and not super small portions that you find at over priced restaurants. My fiancé and I shared the escargot, she had the shrimp and grits for her entree and I had the pork bolognese, there wasn’t a any left when we were done. We also split the Apple Toffee Pudding which was delicious! The drinks we were also expertly crafted and delicious! We definitely recommend this restaurant!

The restaurant is beautiful. Love the ambiance. Our waitress, Marsha was great. She was attentive and knowledgeable but not overbearing at all. The food was amazing. Good portion sizes and the flavour was wonderful.

Justine - Such a delightful restaurant…on every level! Unique, classy, creative decor…feels fresh and immaculate. It only takes a few minutes to know that this restaurant is unusual, we’ll managed and special! Robbie, the General Manager, is charming and genuine. The food was delicious & lovely…cheese bread, shrimp remoulade, fresh grilled red snapper. Every course was perfect…along with lovely, patient service by Amelia! 😁❤️

We went here having read mixed reviews on TA but because they offer champagne by the glass. We had been into The Cabildo on Jackson Square and were tired from walking and wanted a lunchtime drink on the way back to our hotel. We sat at the bar and asked if it was true that they offer Billecart-salmon by the glass and initially the bartender said yes, but when the manager came over he said no, so we opted for the Pommery. As a gesture, he presented us with two glasses of sparkling wine. We tried this but it was not cold and therefore undrinkable. He apologised again and said he was "having trouble with his fridges", and went to fetch the Pommery, which he said he felt would not be cold enough either, and put it in an ice bucket. Twenty minutes later, we tried it, and it was nowhere near cold, so it had clearly not been anywhere near a working fridge. Presumably, the Billecart would have been lukewarm too. We left having sat there for over half an hour. The one star is for the staff, who are doing their best, but there is clearly a management problem at Justine's. There is no way that champagne, sparkling or white wine that is not cold should be offered. Disgruntled, we went up the street to Daisy Duke's Diner, also based on TA reviews, where fortunately there was no queueing (although there usually is, apparently). We just hit it at the right moment, and had a delightful glass of no-name champagne with our fried green tomatoes. That made us feel a lot better.

We wandered in to this restaurant without a reservation. We ordered the shrimp and grits and were blown away with the dish. The grits were light and “fluffy”, the shrimp perfectly cooked, and overall flavours in the dish were complex, just wonderful. We ordered extra bread to not miss any of the wonderful sauce.
Be the first to ReplyNever again in New Orleans, so many better restaurants
A restaurant with such a comprehensive and expensive wine list ( $70 to $9,500) needs to a food quality to match. My stripped bass was not fresh and tasted really fishy. The ber blanc was extremely non-existent. The manager sent a creme bluele, which maybe cost two dollars to make. Chef you have won so many awards. I suggest you monitor your line chefs and servers chatting at the kitchen window. When your cook keep putting the fries bowl on top of the refrigerator, no wonder they weren't crispy. An experience I hope to never happen again in my life.

We didn't eat, but dropped in for a cocktail before dinner. The mixologist was knowledge and steered my daughter to a nice adventurous cocktail. Wine list is nice. Diners seemed to be enjoying themselves and the dinners which passed by were well presented.

For our last night in New Orleans a friend who is a French foodie recommended this place as a favorite for atmosphere, menu and the fantastic maître d’. I am sad to say that aside from the lovely conversation we had with our waiter this may have been one of the worst dining experiences I have had. I typically don’t complain and was very appreciative of the credit we were given for our terrible, cold, chewy and completely unappetizing cut of beef with a nasty looking brown sauce attempting to be au poivre in the middle of a basic white plate void of any presentation, however what set me off was how argumentative thé maître d’ was about the time we had to wait. It had been over an hour, we finished our bottle of wine and he actually wanted to argue that we had only waited 11 minutes. Let me add that he did not once come to our table to apologize for the delay until we were close to walking out. He then boasted that this was the best restaurant in New Orleans. Not even close. We understand that some restaurants have “off nights” but thé maître de’s arrogance made the entire experience worse.
Be the first to ReplySublime food, perfect after a French Quarter evening stroll
Sublime food, warm staff and great service. I had a chicken confit with leaks and baby carrots on creamy polenta. Fantastic flavor.

Made reservations for 4 Tuesday evening, October 11, 2022. When we arrived the hostess seemed preoccupied as if we were bothering her. The restaurant was almost empty with just a few people seated for dinner and a few at the bar. We’re we seated in the bar area with the rest of the restaurant empty. We waited several minutes before we were approached by one of the managers offering water. After several more minutes the same manager stopped by to take our drink orders. During this same time we observed several wait staff (5-6) standing around the kitchen area chatting. After several more minutes one of the bartenders came over and retook our drink order. As we learned later they were at least 1 waitstaff short so the bartender was standing taking dinner orders in our area. Dinner order was placed and salads and soup arrived shortly. When the main entrees arrived 1 of the orders (Lamb) was cold so was sent back. The Lamb finally arrived back after asking both the waiter (bartender) and manager for a status, sadly the 3 of us already finished our dinner. The manger stated he would comp the lamb dinner which was appreciated. Desert was ordered with no issues, overall even with the poor service and cold Lamb we had a nice dinner and left a standard 15% tip. I had planned to write a review and was trying to decide on if 3 stars was appropriate. I had a travel alert on my credit card so looked at the most recent charges and noticed the charge amount for Justine was NOT the amount I approved/signed and that Justine’s increased the amount to what would be a 20% tip amount. I plan to dispute this extra tip amount and now leaving a 1 star review.

We all love a fine dining experience where everything, from the host’s greeting to the goodbyes on the way out is flawless. The service impeccable, the food exquisite, the whole evening one to remember and tell one’s friends about. But sometimes, I’m even more impressed with how a restaurant handles it when everything goes south. Even regular restaurant-goers often don’t seem to realize how many moving parts are involved in delivering that experience and how, particularly during the height of the rush, one little wobble can result in a cascade of complications. We probably started the wobble when Lynn went to ask the manager, after we’d ordered drinks, if we could be moved to a different table. Justine is a small, boisterous restaurant so it’s going to be somewhat loud in any case, but the table next to us had six very exuberant guests, having too good a time for the three of us to be able to converse at all. There weren’t a lot options, but the manager graciously moved us over one table, which was just enough. However, before the manager was able to get word to the waiter, the people delivering the drinks were bringing them out, confused that they’d been directed to an empty table. We flagged them down and got that straightened out, and our waiter regrouped and we got our orders in. Next wobble, though, was when MJ order two appetizers as her main. Somewhere in the transmission from waiter to kitchen to expeditor to table one of those became a shared appetizer, which arrived along with extra plates for the sharing. We waited a bit for her other appetizer and our mains and then deduced what was going on, flagged the manager, who talked to the waiter, and there was another flurry up and down the line. The mistake meant that our mains would be delayed, since they’d been timed to allow us to finish the shared appetizer. As things were getting properly sorted, our waiter apologized again and said, brightly, “Could I get you each a glass of champagne?” Well, sure! So she did, and the manager stopped by to apologize, and when the rest of the food arrived (and it was all superb), they kept a close eye on us, making sure that everything was to our liking. The new table had given us just enough separation from the boisterous group for us to be able to converse easily, the champagne had nicely nudged us into being amused at the situation, and when we finished our meals (and I emphasize again, the food was excellent), we were well satisfied. And then a dessert arrived, with three spoons. We looked around. Given the hiccups of the night, we guessed that this was someone else’s order, but the manager appeared again, saying, “If you don’t mind, this is on me.” Okay, then. We dug in and just as we were finishing, another arrived, and then a third, each one different and differently delicious. By now we were giggling at the whole situation and easily just as happy as if this had been one of those flawless evenings. And, frankly, it made a better story. It's worth pointing out that every restaurant we went to that week in New Orleans was understaffed (as remains the case for most restaurants all across the country) and everyone is working harder than ever to give their guests the best experience they possibly can. But even in the best of times, with a full crew of experienced, well-trained people, something will occasionally go sideways. And once that wobble breaks something loose, getting everything back in line is a huge task. But the crew at Justine were determined that we were going to have a great experience, and indeed we did. I can’t wait to go back and see what they deliver when everything runs as it should.

This was a wonderful taste of France. Excellent atmosphere and good service. Very limited menu but the French onion soup was to die for and it was the best burger I have ever had
Be the first to ReplyDinner mishap
The food was great. I sat by the bar for dinner. My order was mistakenly given to the couple next to me. It took forever for my meal to be prepared and eventually come to me. HOWEVER, I will say the bartender Ariel was amazing in handling this mishap for me. She made sure the manager was notified and as a result my meal and drinks were comped. Shoutout to Ariel for providing exceptional customer service and being awesome. Give her a raise!!
Be the first to ReplyGood food; disappointing service
While the food was very good, our service was quite poor. All but one of us was served dinner, so we had to flag down a server to get the last dinner (our server wasn’t around). And then, when we asked for the bill because we had to leave to see a show, we were brought several complimentary desserts. Too bad we couldn’t stay to enjoy them. When we got the bill, it wasn’t even itemized to see what we were charged for and whether or not tip was included. We were the first table to be seated when the restaurant opened so we couldn’t see any reason to be treated the way we were due to the number of customers.

We wanted to try something new tonight, and knowing nothing about this place we knew that we were taking a chance. Best gamble ever! All staff was attentive from the moment we walked in the door, cocktail/wine list was cheers-worthy, and food was incredible. We went mostly with specials, plus my husband ordered what he said was the best burger he's ever had. Must also mention amazing wall art and playlist. Bravo!

My son and I had Mother's Day dinner here. Mathani was our waitress. She was knowledgeable and made great recommendations. We shared the beet salad, bread cheese, steak tartare and salad. Then had shrimp and grits. The grits are rice, so more like risotto. Finished by sharing 2 different desserts. The chocolate merengue with strawberry ice cream and fresh berries was good, but the sticky pudding with bananas was the best! My son enjoyed 2 different drinks that Mathani recommended. He liked both. Their coffee was fresh and hot. We were swooning. Everything was delightful. It was fun to watch the kitchen staff at work. Bring a jacket/sweater. Our seat was quite chilly just across from the kitchen.
