Was trying to find somewhere to eat after a peloton class
Was trying to find somewhere to eat after a peloton class and stumbled upon jajaja in Whole Foods! I ordered : Buffalo flower (tempura cauliflower with buffalo sauce ) Crispy pescado (chayote) Churritos So value wasn't great, two very small street tacos for $14, you also can't mix and match tacos you have to order a minimum of 2. Also pescado isn't fish BUt was amazing and my favorite!! The flavors and sauce we pre phenomenal Churritos were great - I couldn't tolerate more than 1.5 but omg they were amazing ! The service was good- server was very nice and good came quickly Overall I feel like it is pretty overpriced for the size of tacos 14 for 3 would have been better but I enjoyed trying something different !
Be the first to ReplyFANTASTIC! Can't wait to go back.
Had tacos, empanadas and molé dish. Great food at an affordable price!

One of my favorite vegan places, also one of my favorite Mexican places, such nice staff!
Be the first to ReplyMy sister and I stopped in Jajaja Mexicana for lunch.
The restaurant is inside Whole Foods, and is in the far back of the dining area. We each had the turmeric cauliflower bowl which was absolutely delicious. We also shared chips and salsa and were able to try the hot sauces The charcoal hot sauce is a must try! I highly recommend checking out Jajaja!

Food is delicious! Service is attentive. Atmosphere is fun and fresh. I eat here all the time. -- love the bowls. Tacos rock. Chips and and guacamole a must.

Service is always great and the food is phenomenal! I loveee their horchata esp since it's not often that you can get it vegan. You can also get it spiked. Also the space itself is really pretty.
Be the first to ReplyThis place was great, especially for a late night bite
This place was great, especially for a late night bite after an event. With an hour left of business, (They closed at midnight, we arrived at 11) they accommodated us & we did not feel rushed. The decor was gorgeous & very elegant yet not too luxury. The drinks were good & the food was quickly served & tasty. I must admit I did not enjoy the sauce under the tamal, it was definitely an acquired taste for me. Those who were with me agreed. We had serveral different tacos which we loved & the queso fundido was a hit with the perfect kick. As for desert, we noticed all of our cheesecakes had different consistencies, again probably stemming from the fact that they were almost closing & had to thaw it out of the freezer. 1 of the cheesecakes was literally still almost frozen & had to be poked to be eaten. All in all it was an experience I would try again but possibly at an earlier time.

Came here on a weekend with a couple friends - love that it's a quieter location! It is tucked inside a Whole Foods on the second floor in the back. The pumpkin and beet empanadas never miss! And our food came out very fast after we ordered. Definitely a good fast place for a quick dinner :)
Be the first to ReplyThis was my first time having vegan Mexican food.
My friend and I shared the queso fundido. The portion of chips to dip ratio was a little off since we had to ask for my chips but the flavor was delicious. I would have that again. My friend ordered the Enchiladas Mole and I ordered the Pollo Fresco burrito. The burrito was very filling as it is packed with a lot of rice. I ordered the guacamole with it which was tiny for $3 more. My burrito came with vegan sour cream too. I had the frozen sangira swirl margarita. It was good and super strong. My last drink was the pineapple y mezcal. I asked for it to not be made spicy but you could still taste the spice. Wasn't the worst but I would drink that again. Customer service is excellent and very clean. I loved the bar set up and appreciate that they had hooks at the booths and the bar for coats/purses. The bill was about $140 which is typical for NYC restaurants. If I was craving vegan I would probably go again.

We stopped here before grocery shopping at whole foods and was very impressed with the nachos. These vegan nachos were better than most non-vegan ones! They were a little pricey and the margarita was just okay. But overall very good for a whole foods restaurant!

My boyfriend is unable to have a lot of options in restaurants due to lack of Vegetarian or gluten-free options and this place had it all. Everything from the food service ambience to cocktails was fantastic and I would absolutely go back.

I highly recommend this place. Came in on a Wednesday and this place was packed! So many people here although the wait was not long at all. Great food an a large menu so everyone got their own dish. Although it was packed the service was amazing. I strongly recommend coming to this place if you are nearby.

Spending time with some of my gal friends after work, and never experiencing vegan food, this place really made me think twice on converting into a vegan. The atmosphere and decor really bought the Tulum/Mexico vibes which truly was spectacular and the prices are not bad at all. The staff were super attentive and friendly, even though it was very packed on a Friday evening but they make sure you're catered to. I ordered the nachos as an appetizer and those were the BEST nachos I ever had. The spices and sauces were so delicious so definitely try this when you're with a group or on a date, very shareable. For my entree, the chorizo burrito was to die for and it's so filling. For $15 I barely could eat half of it and took the other half home. Finally for dessert, I chose the mango lime pie; I wish it was a bigger portion because it was just too spectacular in flavors. I will definitely be coming again! :)
Be the first to ReplyI love this place.
I realize how silly it is to crave a vegan Mexican restaurant in Hudson yards when visiting New York, but it is what it is. Their nachos are made of dreams. Tried the new cinnamon hot tea and it was delicious. My mom loved the beet and pumpkin empanada, and their tacos are decent. Just get the nachos and you won't regret it.

I've always heard great things about Jajaja, so I tried it one evening with a friend. This location is hidden inside a Whole Foods so it took longer than I'm proud to admit to find it. The food was pretty and colorful and had a decent amount of flavor, but it very much felt vegan. I feel like it's a good option if you need to eat vegan, but it's not great for Mexican food. I feel like this location also just felt a bit "food courty' to me, so maybe I need to try another location
Be the first to ReplyWOW! 10/10 recommend.
The food was all outstanding, service was quick and delightful, and the ambiance was outstanding. Highly recommend ordering as much as you can and splitting with the table - I loved EVERYTHING! Empanada was the biggest hit but it was a tough choice because everything was outstanding.
Be the first to ReplyTried this place because we needed a quick meal.
It was inside of a Whole Foods, and the interior was modern and clean. I got a burrito, which was honestly pretty average. The meat was standard, if not borderline bland, but the other ingredients in the burrito were solid, such as the rice and vegetables. The dipping sauce with some flavorless sour cream (I usually like sour cream). Pretty good place if you need something quick on the go, but I don't know if this average of a burrito was worth $15.

I've been wanting to try Jajaja Mexicana for years but somehow never made it until recently. Stopped in for lunch while in the area and unbeknownst to me, this location is inside Whole Foods!I got the chorizo tacos, side of chips and salsa, and a cocktail. It was outstanding. You might even forget the entire menu is plant based because it's definitely satisfying for meat eaters. Reasonably priced at $32 for those 3 items but I would have loved if my order came with 3 tacos instead of 2.Food takes a bit to come out. In a regular restaurant with table service (like the other locations), this would feel normal. But because this is in Whole Foods and order at the counter style, it kind of feels like a long wait. Nevertheless, lunch was delicious and well worth it. Would highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyGreat place located on the whole food food court.
Drinks are potent and the vegan food is incredible. I've tried both locations and they equally are delightful
Be the first to ReplyAmazing vegan food.
Everything tasted so well. I can't wait until I'm hungry to come back. The drink menu is extensive and really good. I really enjoyed the recommendations from our server, Pedro. Super kind, really knows the menu. Service was fast and thorough. They accomodated us really quick without a reservation for a Saturday night.

This review is for the churro only!Located conveniently in Whole Foods, this place is great for vegans as their entire menu is vegan. However, the churros did not live up to expectations. They're nearly $10 for four very small short pieces of churro. They were a bit too oily for me, almost as if the dough had over soaked the oil to the point where the inside was soggy. The dipping sauce was okay. Compared to churros I've had in the past, this one fell flat. I split mine with a friend, and we still weren't able to finish all four pieces. Price and quality did not match - hoping my experience was just an off day!

There are cockroaches!!! I went to grab a bite to eat this weekend after shopping at Whole Foods and sat at the last table near the exit door. After a few minutes I noticed a clump of roaches crawling on the floor near the mats behind the bar. I've been to this location a handful of times and it's truly a hit or miss. The staff doesn't appear happy to be be there and doesn't greet you. But I didn't expect to see roaches! God knows how many health code violations are being broken. Please stay away!
Be the first to ReplyMy friend picked this place for dinner yesterday and I'm so
My friend picked this place for dinner yesterday and I'm so glad she introduced me to Jajaja. And who can get over that name?? The food was AMAZING here. This was some of the best vegan food I had, it's a must try. Plus, the prices were very reasonable, $50 for coffee, tacos, nachos with guac, and a burrito. Servings were HUGE, like enough to probably feed 5 people instead of the 2 of us. They've been awarded a Michelin star for the sustainability chapter. They were missing the charcoal sauce at this location though. The service was on point for the most part, they are very clean here. The bathroom and the place seemed like it could use a little up keeping but it's alright. There's multiple stalls so there's no lines.

my friend's card got declined multiple times and we ended up saying we did not want the lemonade, after two minutes the lemonade came to our table for the grand price of 17$. Non alcoholic and it tasted super bitter. We ended up giving the lemonades to homeless people we found. 0/100

I got the quesadilla, nachos, and tacos (all of which are Jajaja's popular dishes). However, I was quite disappointed as the original restaurant had really great reviews. The food was quite underwhelming and pricy, totaling close to $70. Maybe because the food was in takeout style? I'm not sure, but maybe the food tastes better at the restaurant.
