Awesome food and vibes in New York City
Wonderful for a quick beer and japanese specialties! Amazing selection of japanese beers and sake, wonderful gyoza, edamame and karaage (japanese fried chiken). Really the perfect blend of a pub and a japanese restaurant, all blended with japanese hip-hop music. The prices are on the low/average end of what you can find in Nyc and the people working in there are always happy to explain and guide you on your menu exploration. Don’t expect anything luxurious, just good food and good vibes.
Be the first to ReplyExceptional authentic Japanese cuisine in the heart of New York
Well furnished, quiet and casual place, it feels like entering a small Japanese shop. Great welcome and professionalism in presenting and describing dishes on the menu and types of beers available, so many that you couldn't choose on your own. Excellent dishes and prices in line with Manhattan: the edamame with butter and garlic is absolutely worth trying, a real delight! If you like original Japanese cuisine you can't miss this restaurant! My compliments for everything!
Be the first to ReplyAwesome Japanase bar restaurant; friendly and good
Friendly, helpful low key Japanese bar; restaurant. We did not have a reservation but they found us a table. They offer a bunch of skewers and both ramen and substantive dishes. i had a skewer, which is about four inches of food, of port belly. Was lovely. We shared some garlic-sautéed edamame which were fantastic. I then had a bowl of brown butter miso ramen with pork. Was excellent. Great broth, freshly cooked. My companion had an interesting bottle of beer, i was not drinking but they had a great looking selection of beers and other drinks

The range of beers was astonishing and a perfect match for the skewers… I greatly appreciated Kevin offering a sochu grapefruit short drink as I don’t like tall drinks and imagine my joy when he juiced the grapefruit at the table! Ambiance is awesome as music great but can still hear your partner without yelling at them across the table. Oh and the agedashi nasu was divine. Lovely yuzu palate cleanser at end. Definitely heading back!!!

Nothing to fill the gut and warm the heart like a whole lot of beer and skewer after skewer of grilled goodness. Chicken thigh and zucchini skewers are truly top notch.
Be the first to ReplyLargest Japanese Craft Beer menu
We love going to Izakaya, and we found this spot with a really good happy hour menu. Since it was still early evening on Friday, it was still rather empty. I liked the cozy and homey atmosphere. We started off with some Yuzu Sake from Jokigen. Our server poured the sake into the glass, and continued to pour until it started to over flow into a wooden masu square. Sake was fruity, just the way I like it! My hubby was interested in their craft beer. Even more so after the general manager, Kiyo, walked over and started to have interesting conversation with us. He told us that they have the largest Japanese Craft Beer offering in NYC, and continue to add more. I ordered Hokkaido Melon Ale, with a really great cantaloupe flavor, love it! My hubby went with something that was really unique, Kyoto Beer Matcha IPA. It had deep, dark matcha green color, with an interesting flavor. Hint of matcha aroma, with that distinct bitter flavor of matcha. We got to try a few more beers, and they were really good! For food, we tried Smoking Anbai Miso Bacon, that gets torched right in front of you. So meaty and packed with amazing flavor! Totally loved it! Truffle Lotus Root Chips had a great truffle flavor with each bite. Crisp chips, lightly fried, a perfect accompaniment to any drinks! Tebasaki, Nagoya style Japanese chicken wings, came with a really nice portion. When I took my first bite, I must say I had no words…it was soooo delicious, totally out of control! My hubby said I had the “eyes of pleasure” like nothing he has ever seen. LOL. We had such fun time here, and it was really great talking with the general manager Kiyo. He was super friendly, and super knowledgeable when it came to food and drinks. What an amazing spot! We would definitely go back for more amazing food and drinks!
