The service is always spectacular! Every employee makes you feel like an old friend. The wine, fantastic!!! And the food ... wow. Just wow. Risotto, veal Marsala, oysters, tiramisu. SO good!!! Can't wait to return!!! Thank you for another wonderful experience!!

I only went to this restaurant because my date was a Drake fan and Drake mentions this place in a rap. I was incredibly underwhelmed. I guess it's a good hide away spot for super stars. It's quiet. You can hear yourself talk. We had an ok time. Everything was fine. It's expensive and forgettable but at the same time there's nothing offensive about the place. It's minimal chic. The wait staff are great. I don't know. I guess it all depends on what kind of evening you're looking for. It's fine. I would probably not go back. I'd probably not reccomend it. But if you are going then go. And if you go with a fun crowd you may even have a very good time.

Had a wonderful experience and so happy that they have gluten free options. The ambience is very soothing and lovely after a hectic NYC day. They were very accommodating as I requested clams and linguini gluten free style. Everything was delicious! Highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyFood is amazing.
House made pasta, ingredients are fresh in everything and it tastes like a party in every bite. We had apps, entrees, and desserts. All 5 stars. And the portion sizes are perfect. Service is incredible. Atmosphere is intimate, but not isolating. You'll have a blast here.

Everything was amazing!! We came from another restaurant and just stumbled upon this place. Everything froM the food, the atmosphere, the service was amazing! Laura, Michael, and Barney were amazing! 11/10 would come here next time we are in NY :)
Be the first to ReplyThis is a 4 to 5-star experience, hands down.
The food is perfectly seasoned from the bread board to your last bite. I was worried getting the chicken parmigiana without a side wouldn't be filling but with tasty appetizers, great drinks and AMAZING and attentive service, I couldn't have left more pleased. Portion sizes are appropriate and prices are high but you're paying for the atmosphere. Good luck with parking also.

We came here on a Friday night with a reservation for 4 and were seated immediately. The waiters were very attentive and nice--John was the waiter for our table but Arnold knew many people in our group and came by to say hi and help out.We started with 3 appetizers: the tuna tartare, the eggplant romano, and the burrata (special). We all agreed the eggplant needed a little bit more salt as it was a little bland. I personally thought the tuna tartare was too salty, but everyone else enjoyed it. The tuna tartare came on mashed avocado. The burrata was DELICIOUS and the balsamic was really good. For mains, we had the frutti di mare, fettuccine bolognese, veal chop Milanese, and the cacio e pepe with shrimp added on top. I thought the frutti di mare was a little too salty, but everyone else thoroughly enjoyed their dishes. The cacio e pepe with shrimp was really good. We also ordered the sautéed wild mushrooms and the cream of corn with crispy pancetta. The cream of corn was SO GOOD and our party ate that so fast. The mushrooms were good.Lastly for dessert, two of us got espressos and one got a cappuccino. We also ordered a vanilla gelato, which we added to the espresso for our own affogato. The food was good, the atmosphere was nice, and the service was impeccable!
Be the first to ReplySincerely one of the worst service and food experiences I
Sincerely one of the worst service and food experiences I have had in Nyc in years plus it was expensive. Woefully slow and understaffed service Cold food. No waters. Unable to order drinks and no salt and pepper on tables. Waiter actually came get salt shaker off our table because another table needed salt. Waiter brought check before asking if desert wanted. Sincerely these folks could not work at Chili's. Chili's has better training Rude manager indifferent and aloof Actually nice bartender Dreadful. Experience. God bless them
Be the first to ReplyCame here for the prix fixe lunch on a Saturday afternoon.
Was surprised when my party was the only diners in the entire restaurant for the entire meal (~1.5hrs). Ordered the branzino crudo as my starter and it was really delicious and fresh (8.5/10). Got the NY strip as my entree and it was cooked perfectly, but lacked very much flavor and was kinda fatty (7/10). For dessert, got the flourless chocolate cake and I think they gave me two portions, which is not a complaint as it was really really delicious and not too heavy/fudgy that some flourless cakes are (9/10). Overall, really great deal for an upscale lunch in a nice restaurant setting. Service was alright...considering we were the only people I thought the server would be more attentive and bring water without having to be asked. Would go again for lunch!
Be the first to ReplyReally solid experience.
Wait staff was courteous and professional. My cacio peppe pasta was tasty- a little oily but good. The frocaccia they bring before you order is a nice touch. My veal parm was a highlight...pounded and on the bone, good meaty cut of veal. Tiramisu was also very good.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, AND GOT FOOD POISONING!!We were a party of 5 celebrating our sons NYU graduation, on May 29th, 2021. Server was Arnold. The ceasar salad was rancid and after one bite we knew it, and had to have it removed from the table. Ordered two chicken Parmesan and I'm not sure how this dish can be screwed up or why this restaurant would have bad chicken but that was the case. We were SICK AFTER THIS MEAL AND MISSED OUR FLIGHTS THE FOLLOWING MORNING. Spoke to Jessica the manager and hostess and she has been unwilling to accommodate us for this very negative experience. She told us "corporate" would be getting in touch with us. Good luck!!! After almost 6 weeks nothing has been done, and we're left with a bad taste in our mouths and sick after bad food was served. This restaurant shouldn't be permitted to get away with ignoring their customers experience when food poisoning makes you so sick you have to reschedule flights and pay extra to book a new flight and hotel room in NYC!! It's just wrong on so many levels!!!!From the rancid Caesar salad to the bad chicken to the rude Jessica trying to dismiss this it's all UNACCEPTABLE!!!!Dine elsewhere is my suggestion where you will be treated with respect and served fresh and delicious food. How can you be charged $50 for 6 raviolis. Arnold made a mistake and corrected the bill.

Overall we are disappointed with this restaurant, although we were excited to go. The service was great but none of the dishes were above average. We ordered the meatballs, ravioli, and bucatini. For our main course we had the NY strip. Every dish was lacking in flavor and quality. In particular the steak was disappointing- although it was well cooked the quality and preparation left much to be desired. Unfortunately we would not return given the plethora of Italian / steak restaurants in nyc that serve better quality food at a lower price.
Be the first to ReplyLove love love.
We were extremely picky about what restaurant we picked in covid winter - decided on il mulino to sit in one of the outdoor greenhouses. Exceeded expectations- the food, the service, the comfort and warmth of the outdoor greenhouses. Couldn't be happier with our celebration evening here.
Be the first to ReplyIl Mulino Prime 20th Street Is Superb In All Respects -
Il Mulino Prime 20th Street Is Superb In All Respects - January 2021This past weekend we celebrated an important milestone event, a 65th birthday celebration at home for two, that warranted a special meal from one of our favorite restaurants pre-pandemic. We arranged for a first-class meal to be delivered from Il Mulino Prime on 20th Street. The Il Mulino restaurants are never inexpensive but always absolutely worth every penny and more, and leave us always wanting to return - a truly great sign of a great restaurant. After this weekend, we are in love with Il Mulino even more than ever before. Our mouths were watering awaiting delivery of linguine with clams white, the special veal chop parmigiana (on the bone and split, tenderized and cooked to perfection), a side of spaghettini with tomato basil sauce (pasta cooked just right with sauce in that perfect spot between fresh and leaning toward sweet), and the amazing, to-dream-about, double cut veal chop with mushrooms and roasted potatoes on the side, along with a side of sautéed spinach and ending with an amazing flourless chocolate cake. Yes, our mouths were watering until the delivery service dropped the proverbial ball, or perhaps one of the bags of food after leaving Il Mulino Prime. At the appointed time, we received some potatoes, spinach and some bread and crackers, but nothing else. We immediately telephoned the restaurant, and Christian went into investigation mode pronto. After a few calls from him on the updated status, and his matching disappointment for us and with the delivery service, and upon his hearing that this was an important milestone dinner event, he insisted upon re-doing the complete meal and personally delivering it the 18 city blocks away at prime time on a Saturday night. His commitment to service was nothing short of impressive, but equaled by the rather amazing meal ultimately delivered. This fiasco turned out to be a most memorable meal crafted by Christian's devotion to his customers, and an as-always great kitchen! When you start with the highest quality ingredients and add a superlative kitchen staff and then add a front of the house like no other, you have a recipe for success, even in this most difficult of times for all restaurants. We look forward to getting through this most difficult of times and returning to dine in at Il Mulino Prime, where the returning wait staff no doubt will be as good as the rest of components of this great restaurant (as the rather professional wait staff has always been at all Il Mulino locations). Christian, thanks so much for giving us a special night, and a first dining-in meal to look forward to post-vaccine. To Christian and everyone at Il Mulino Prime, grazie mille!
Be the first to ReplyCame here a while back for Restaurant week.
We had a group of 8+ people so we made a reservation a week in advance. We got a nice large table. The appetizer (9/10)- meatball with cheese and bread. I like the cheese was so melty and stringy, meatball was tender.Main (8/10) - salmon, the lemon was zesty and added flavor but I personally like a flaky salmon so would be better if there were more flakes.Tiramisu (10/10) - the dessert was WOW. I have no words for it because it was so good.Good experience overall, enjoyed the food here.

Second time here and expectations were certainly met if not exceeded again. The ambiance is upscale yet not pretentious by any means and is matched with an attentive eye for good service. From the time you arrive to the time you leave you are cared for and frankly that's more than enough for me to keep this on rotation. Was greeted to a nice charcuterie board with a wonderful bread selection. Opted for the restaurant week selection and accompanying wine-pairing (3 generous pours of a house red). Admittedly I've only ever ordered the NY Strip but the pasta marina dish my mom had was excellent (peaked over at some other tables to find the chicken parm which looked great as well). A really well seasoned piece of meat cooked to order, properly seared, and served with a roasted head of garlic and a side of mash - simple, yet decadent. From what I've had in this past this is a definitely a contendor for a top notch strip. We were somewhat abruptly booted from our table to accommodate a bigger party but a nice consolation was the comped after-dinner aperitifs we enjoyed at the bar as a result. Thanks again guys, really nice job as always.
