Ikko always deliver! It was a very delicious meal.
My niece loves it. She said it was happiness in her mouth. The service was awesome. Very attentive. I cannot complain. I like the setting and the music was calm and soothing. It was a very enjoyable dinner.

Hey Sushi lovers This is Hidden GemExcellent food for Great value.My new favorite spot after long time to seeking a true taste of sushi from quality to quality, all the services and the chef are very professional. Oshima have been one of my fav. spot but after horrible food served at ours table I have not go back there for a while. So sadBut today my friend recommend me this one and I already felt into it.The place are very small. Be sure to make a reservation by phone call. Keep in your mind this place for who one only love the omakase. They not gonna serve you any American rolls so please dont bother the Chef LOL. Just sit and watch Chef will server you like a King or Queen.OMG dont know how to describe. Just wanna say ARRIGATO!!!! I WILL BE BACK SOON.

做有用的事, 說勇敢的話,想美好的事, 睡安穩的覺,把時間花在值得你珍惜的人身上 ~Ikko , 在 Costa Mesa 開至少十幾年的老店了,應該很多人來過,會來這家是女兒推薦, 她爸爸去年帶他們來過, 一直跟我說好吃,他們的 omakase 一個人是120 元, 以現在來說, 比大部分的 omakase 店家都便宜, 若要再加 uni , 是額外的16 元, 吃這種omakase 我不是很在行, 倒是跟我一起去的朋友說 還是我們工業市的 sushi yuan 划算, 雖然晚上價格是兩百多, 但食材, 味道,擺盤都更勝一籌, 我倒覺得這是一家老闆用一生心血認真經營的小店, 沒有任何花俏的手法,但每道魚片配的剛剛好,刀功也是很了得,是有真功夫的日本老師傅,裡面只有十個位置, 只做晚上, 要打電話預約! -- at Ikko Japanese Cuisine.

And easily, it's one of my top favorite omakase places to visit. Sushi chef curated each dish to be so pleasing to the eyes and sensational to the palate. The presentation is nothing fancy like your Michelin-rated restaurants, but the cuts are so carefully crafted/sliced. The cuts are so clean, and beautifully placed over a bed of rice. The fish looks fresh and taste exactly how it looks. By far better than some of the Michelin-rated sushi places I've been to. And definitely better than the overly hyped locations.

im a huge fan of omakase and honestly havent really had the chance to enjoy omakase since covid. ikko was the perfect place to remind me of how much i missed omakase. it was at an amazing price point and came with several starters, nigiris with fish from japan, and dessert! every dish was super impressive and delicious. omakase is a super intimate experience and directly translates to "ill leave it up to you" in japanese. this allows the chef to serve you their best and freshest of the day. currently ikko is reservation only and only does omakase at the $100 price point. would DEFINITELY recommend.and you already know we HAD to add that premium santa barbara uni at the end...

i think overall it was a very pleasant meal with some interesting moments, but maybe not quite worth the amount we ended up paying -- relative to other offerings in orange county at similar price pointsthe pros: great sake, it's not a purely nigiri omakase, extremely attentive and kind service, and an inviting, casual ambiancethe cons: the variety of fish this evening didn't quite match up to what we've seen other diners receive as part of their omakase (based on photos/reviews on yelp), and the amount we received overall was probably less than you might expect at this price range -- and we don't normally eat or order very much by any standard. the preparations themselves were also fairly simple + mostly all brushed with the same sauce (though to be fair, it was very, very good sauce)who this is for: there were definitely some types of fish we haven't tried before, a lot of them being japanese versions of omakase classics that we haven't noticed on other menus (or were not daring enough to order and try on our own)overall, i think it's likely possible to build your own omakase at other high-end sushi bars in orange county for less, with more variety and of higher quality than we were offered this particular night, and testing whether or not that's true is what we'll be doing nextnonetheless, thank you so much for the meal and for the wonderful service! definitely good, but was just shy of hitting that wow factor for us this time

This is a place you DONT WANT TO MISS! Chef Ikko is precise and extremely detailed oriented when preparing every course. I loved how clean and intimate this space was and the two staff members assisting with the experience were equally as friendly and professional. If you are looking for an amazing experience, look no further!! 10/10 would recommend this place!

Wow!! We have been so many places but this place is exquisite and intimacy. This place automatically teleported us to Japan. The master carefully and thoughtfully served us. We enjoyed so much. Also, the services from all the staffs here were wonderful. This place deserves more recognition.

I've been coming to Ikko for years - if you want an omakase experience to rival going to Japan - this is it. Chef Ikko puts so much thought into every item on the menu, the fish is always seasonal and carefully balanced with just the right amount of sauce / seasoning to bring out the best in the fish. When the restaurants were all closed during 2020, I was so grateful to be able to get omakase to go. I've moved states recently but whenever I know I need to come down for work, first thing I do is book my flight and the next thing I do is call Yuki to make a reservation here. Note - there is no walk ins because there is a lot of preparation with expensive ingredients that needs to be prepared before hand. Do yourself a favor and put your trust in Chef Ikko - you'll be temporarily transported to Japan for the night.

I came here recently to celebrate a friend's birthday, as my friend is obsessed with sushi, and Ikko did not disappoint. Every piece of fish was skillfully cut, and seasoned to perfection! My absolute favorite was the seared trout, but every single piece of sushi was delicious. There were a few non-dishes that failed to wow us, but overall, it was quite filling and you get an exquisite meal, especially for the price!We had a rather large group, so we ended up having the entire restaurant to ourselves. While the sushi chef was certainly skilled at his job, the servers were also very helpful. They were able to answer all of our questions, and refilled our waters when needed and served us the non-sushi items. 10/10, would do it again. It was extremely delicious and a very fun and unique experience, and very well worth the price.

LOCATION: Bristol/BakerPARKING: Small lot with a few spots in the front, but it wasn't hard to find at all because it's a small plaza!Only a 2-month late review, but that doesn't change my feelings toward Ikko.As you walk towards the entrance, you will see a large, wooden door. The interior is calm, serene, and perfectly dimly lit. The bar around the chef seats ten people I believe. Between each party is a plastic barrier, which I really appreciated considering COVID and how close we are seated next to each other. Every dish was phenomenal! Some of my favorites included the ocean trout & toro. So yummy. The dessert at the end was a simple vanilla ice cream topped with pistachios and a red wine berry sauce! It was a nice palette cleanser. What I loved most about Ikko was how attentive the servers were. They would literally refill my tea to the top after every two sips. I got my own teapot and everything expecting to refill it myself, but I appreciated this effort. Side note - the tea was so good! I believe it was Hojicha, one of my favorites.Ikko is very affordable for such a high-quality omakase, and I would like to thank the chef for perfecting his craft with evident flavors to all his guests!

I still give ikko a 5 star rating post COVID dine in experience. As a matter of fact the intimacy of the dining experience is such a welcoming change. They have 2 seatings, 5:30 and 7:30 pm. His omakase is reasonable and well worth the price. I enjoy his creative spin on the combination of fresh fishes with sauce that is well balanced. This particular evening I had a jellyfish on the menu which I have never tasted before. In a previous omakase meal, he had cherry blossoms incorporated in his dishes. Innovative play of ingredients. His service staff led by Yuki is so gracious as hosts with my water and hot tea always full. It's a personal dining experience and I am so pleased to dine in Ikko year after year after year.

Really enjoyed this dining experience! It was such an intimate dining experience with only bar seating of maybe 8 or 9 people and the chef making the dishes right in front of you. My personal favorite was the red trout, I could have had 5 more pieces easily. The staff were courteous and attentive. The service and quality that they provided for the price was excellent. I would say the first dish was not my favorite so don't be thrown off if you don't love the first thing they bring out. The dessert was a bit too simple for me and would have liked something more creative. However, all the sashimi tasted fresh and so good.

It's very low key and feels like a hidden room. Counter seats 8-10?? Very clean and sanitary interior. The lighting of the space highlights the Master in the room on stage. His space was organized; nothing unused was left on the table top, and everything is lined up/cleaned. Loved this aspect of the place, feels very Ginza. Servers/Master are welcoming, alert and attentive to detail throughout. Your cup of water is always full and unneeded items removed from your space/table swiftly. Careful explanation about every dish. Master is Japanese, so he can provide an explanation Bilingually. From our conversation, I admired his detail to his craft, and passion to express his procedure to his customer. Thank you!Every dish was amazing; Each tasting distinct and celebrates the fresh quality of the seafood in your mouth. Master pairs each fish well with unique condiments/sauces, and unwraps flavors of even unfamiliar fish. The omakase is colorful, flavorful and leaves you full. I don't drink, but I enjoyed my meal with hot green tea. The dessert was a highlight for my matcha-loving friend. I enjoyed a course/set for Valentines Day 4 stars for variety, but I am picky: Uni-Chutoro can be served separately???, limited grilled/fried option in set. However, I am from Tokyo, so I may seek a more traditional angle to omakase. I'd love to return in a different season, perhaps in the fall :)

Really love their be omakase only, set seating, set menu format. It's gotten more intimate, amazingly attentive service, and create and beautiful cuisine of the highest quality. I've gone in November and again today for Valentines omakase and both times it was superb.

made a reservation here for my boyfriends birthday! they only allow dinner reservations at either 530 or 730 and seating was super limited (8 people max) during our 730 slot since you can only sit at the sushi bar. there are plastic barriers between every party at the sushi bar since covid. as soon as we sat down we got served our first course. all of the dishes were AMAZING and great quality. my favorite was the seared ocean trout and seafood chawanmushi. i'm a little bummed that there wasn't any foie gras on the omakase menu that night but it was a great first omakase experience overall. the number of dishes they gave us (13?) was the perfect amount and i didn't leave feeling too full or unsatisfied. at the end, they'll ask if you want any repeats on the omakase menu in case you're still hungry (at an extra cost). the service was also great. the waiters were super attentive and refilled my green tea everytime they saw that it was getting diluted due to the ice melting. our total came out to ~$200 not including tip, with the omakase being $100/person.

Been on a hiatus from dining out too much, but we were craving sushi/sashimi. We're SO happy to have been able to dine here! We were just needing a weekday night fix, but this far exceeded our expectations...This place made our regular Thursday outing into a beautiful date night.The omakase was so good! Normally, there's always one or two things that were just ok at other restaurants, but everything here was delicious and so different from the next. I wish I took more pictures, but I needed to focus on the food... lol!Also, the service was impeccable, and each seating was sectioned off by their corresponding parties so they're very covid safe! We really appreciated their attention to detail on all aspects of dining out.We can't wait until our next outing with Ikko!
