Awesome Tasting Menu with First Class Service
Outstanding menu selection along with 5-star customer service make Host a "must visit" dining experience when on Copenhagen

We had a great meal at Høst (make sure to book early, reservations go quickly). We went on a Monday night and very table was full. We opted for the 3 course menu with pairing, and were given a few extra bites in between as well. The wine pairing was really good for the first two courses, but unless you like a dessert wine, it might be worth just ordering the glasses on their own and skipping that one. All the servers were really nice and informative about the meal. The setting is what makes it as well, loads of trees and greenery and had a great ambience. We had the beef and lobster, and the beef was the table favorite.

Superb food, great and friendly staff, lovely wine, great atmosphere, really good value for money. We had the 5 course set meal which was delicious but there were also 3 little bonus dishes added which turned it into 8 courses. This made the whole meal extremely good value for money, especially given the very high quality of the food. We washed it down with a French Chenin from the Loire which was equally delicious.

This is a truly fabulous dining experience. We had the 5 course tasting menu which turned into 8 courses with three surprise courses added. Great variety of flavours - absolutely delicious. Friendly and efficient service from staff too. A “ must do” on any visit to Copenhagen.

Great food, excellent (generous) wine flight, relaxed atmosphere. Chris was a great host, confident, knowledgable and occasionally funny. ;)
Be the first to ReplyExcellent!
I dined at Høst with my husband and we ordered the 5 course menu, which included little dishes in between. The meal was absolutely phenomenal- from presentation to taste to uniqueness. It was by far the most delicious and interesting meal we had during our trip to Copenhagen— way better than another, Michelin starred restaurant. I really appreciated how the food never felt heavy. The only criticism I have is that I ordered the juniper juice and I didn’t taste any juniper. The waitstaff were all very nice, and service was attentive. I wish we had an opportunity to visit again. Definitely make a reservation in advance.

We came here as a treat for our last night in Copenhagen and had a lovely time. We have the 3 course tasting menu with wine pairings and it was divine. The service was top notch and lovely decor. Highly recommended.
Be the first to ReplyExceptional high end dining and service experience
We dined at Host on the first evening of our arrival in Copenhagen at the recommendation of a close friend who had recently dined there. As a higher end dining experience it's hard to beat. My wife and I both chose the 3 course menu, she also selected the accompanying wine flight. I had the salmon and cod, both wonderfully prepared and presented and as expected, wonderful to the palate! What was unexpected were the "surprises" not listed on the menu and provided during the course of the meal Especially notable was a cream of mushroom soup spiced with juniper and a honey/camomile parfait with sea buckthorn gel and a sea buckthorn sorbet, all of which delighted our palates as well as made us feel like special guests! We were provided equally special service by Jalta and Bjork who answered all our questions patiently and made excellent suggestions regarding our choices. We couldn't be happier with our visit to Host and recommend Host to anyone looking for a high end dining experience in Copenhagen - we'll return here the next time we're in town for sure.

Very friendly service (with a welcome check that the speed of service was as we wished), very enjoyable tasting menu. The general style of the food was a little austere - but that's not a criticism, just a description. In fact, it meant that the dessert avoided being too sweet, which I welcomed. Good value (by Copenhagen standards, anyway!).

Was in Copenhagen for a city break & booked an evening here in advance which was easy to do. I opted for the Evening option. The additional surprises were excellent, particularly the blue mussel soup which was extraordinarily good & full of flavours. The scallops with Jerusalem artichoke foam with Jerusalem artichoke chips and a gooseberry salsa was out of this world. Nice design inside with a friendly atmosphere & excellent service. Would highly recommend
Be the first to ReplyGood but overpriced and overrated
Nice setting. The food is good, but needs some seasoning.Overall the taste pallet is somewhat flat and needs to have some punch. Prices are high but I assume that's standard in Copenhagen. Juice pairing is not a thing we would recommend: you have enough after two glasses. + point: the service big - point: the speed of the delivery: they need to have two rounds of service every evening so everything is rushed into your table. Big minor for us as we like to eat at our ow pase.

Faultless food at a great price. We sampled the 5 course menu…but you’re also treated to 3 additional dishes, the mushroom soup being particularly memorable. All courses were excellent, although the celeriac was a little under seasoned. Special mention to the lovely attentive staff…thanks for looking after us. NB great playlist - lived the Laurel Valley vibe for part of the evening and refreshing to hear good music whilst enjoying your super food. Thank you.

Was lovely experience, from the snacks to the dessert, we were delighted by the tasting, specially those little surprises coming in a between the dishes. We ordered the menu with 5 courses with a bottle of white wine and two extra glasses of red wine to go with the steak. The only down side, steak was over cooked but tasted nice. We loved the coffee moment and sure we will be back.

Over priced , pretentious take on Nordic cuisine. Salad served on stones. Although tasty, vegetarian menu very potato based and disappointing.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic and worth every kronor
We were here for dinner on a Saturday night. You will have to reserve. You have the choice of a three or a five course menu and additional wine pairing. We chose the three course dinner with our own choices of wine. The menu came with three additional greetings from the kitchen before and between each course. In addition there were chocolates that came with the coffee after dinner. To sum it up: all courses and the added dishes were fantastic. Extremely tasty, fine and creative. First course were scallops but really refined! Then a mussle soup on thyme to drink through a short straw, main course salmon with wonderful vegetables. It sounds all generic, but only because I lack the words to describe it properly…. Highest recommendation!!

We made a reservation a month in advance. We were attracted by the stylish and light green enterior. We were very disappointed to be placed in a dark warm cellar on a large table with an other large group. This isn’t the atmosphere for us to have dinner in an expensive restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyDecent restaurant
The service was decent, the waiters was friendly. I was a little disappointed with the wine combination for the food, I did not think it was the best combination. the experience was not what i have expected it was a good resturant but not something special
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, small portions
High quality ingredients, minimal decoration. But the portions are really small. The bread was the best but we ended up a bit hungry.
Be the first to ReplyUneven service dooms an otherwise nice meal
Too many issues for a restaurant of this reputation. The dishes were good, some great, particularly the “surprises” between the courses. But, a big miss was the main—beef tenderloin with pepper sauce—which both looked and tasted uninspired. By far the biggest issue was the service, which at times made me want to head for the door. It took 40 minutes for a member of the waitstaff to even stop at our table upon arriving. Because everyone has the same 3- or 5-course tasting menu, and it’s a pretty large restaurant, and the waitstaff serve an area but otherwise are not responsible for specific tables, it has a bit of a “cattle feed” feel to it. That can also result in some tables being routinely overlooked, and the pacing of meals being uneven—the table adjacent to us was seated 30 min later, had the same tasting menu, and finished 45 min before we did. Overall, 3.5 hours for a 3-course menu is a bit much.
Be the first to ReplyBEST restaurant of the entire 10-day trip through Copenhagen and Stockholm
Food was indulgent and delicious, and atmosphere was great (we were in the basement area). We did the "An evening at Høst" 5 course menu with 5 glass wine pairing (started with a sparkling wine). Even though there are 5 courses, there were several additional dishes ("surprises"), which were the best part. One "surprise": they served a waffle with roe and cheese upfront that was delicious appetizer that matched the saltiness of the roe with the creaminess of the cheese (a Danish specialty). The best "surprise" was the blue muscle soup served in a small cup with thyme and drank through a small straw - was amazing: creamy with the taste of muscle and refreshing (like a lighter chowder). Jess described the 2nd course scallops as the best scallops she ever had - period. The wine pairings were spectacular - all white, but very drinkable (nothing too sweet). We left feeling stuffed. What a PERFECT meal
Be the first to ReplyEnjoyed it - great value
Very much enjoyed the food, can't fault this place at all.
Atmosphere and service were at a very high standard.
I do believe this place is a very reasonably priced dining Michellin guide restaurt in Copenhagen.
Poor organisation lets down great food
Delicious food. But, ruined by time pressure. Made to feel very awkward. Not allowed coffee/petit fours because we had ‘exceeded our time slot’ then had to be asked for the charge for the coffee we had not had to be removed from our bill. Great, but ruined at the last minute by being forced to make a bit of a fuss.
Be the first to ReplyIncredible Experience!!
Food was exquisite, just so impressed with how the combinations and creativity of each dish we received, the atmosphere was so beautiful. And the staff were genuine and knowledgeable and so welcoming. Thankyou, highly recommend and will be returning!!
