I had my small wedding reception dinner here in the Indigo Room recently and had an overall amazing experience. Pre-booking, they were responsive to all my questions and accommodating to a walk-through when we first dined months before to get a feel for the atmosphere. It felt very classy yet down-to-earth (if that makes sense) with the natural wood decor and the greenery along the walls. On the big day, I could not have been more impressed with the service, presentation, and food. Every single guest came up to us during or after the dinner either complimenting the cuisine and/or the room aesthetic. Everyone's glasses were rarely empty, if at all. For those who just want to dine there: Crispy chicken, kale salad, yams, and miso donuts yielded the most compliments.

Beautiful environment, both inside and out. Staff is lovely. Love the hidden feel of it. Highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyWent here for Valentines Day.
They had a 4 course tasting menu. The appetizer I got of Salmon Crudo was very good. The rest of the menu was mediocre to bad. The Fried Chicken was undercooked. And the Hangar steak was only served medium rare or well done. I asked for medium rare and it was almost rare on the inside, but somehow burnt on the outside. The cut of meat itself was not great either. Also these cheap cuts of meat, done terribly was about $500 for 2 people. Incredibly disappointing. On top of that, by the end of the meal I felt sick from the undercooked chicken. I got food poisoning and couldn't eat anything the next day. Completely ruined our Valentine's Day. Avoid this restaurant at Valentine's Day. I also contacted them about the food poisoning and they did not seem to care at all. Terrible management and service.

Big NO! Horrible experience - I took my boyfriend for his birthday special treat. I was so super embarrassed and waiter were super rude and long wait without saying sorry. I will never come back here ever again - BEWARE about parking fee $40. OMFG price!
Be the first to ReplyWent there for Valentine's dinner last night for a 9 pm
Went there for Valentine's dinner last night for a 9 pm reservation and the only option was a pre fixe menu for $150/person, which was fine. The ambiance was great, servers were great ... but they were completely unprepared to offer said menu. The first thing I ordered was a mezcal/jalapeño drink and I was told they didn't have an ingredient so couldn't make it. For the pre fixe menu starter/appetizer we could pick 1 item from a list of 4. They did not have 3 of the 4 items! Which of course were the ones we had wanted to order. Similarly, for the dessert we could pick from a list but the item I wanted (and was looking forward to the most) was not available. The appetizer, entree, dessert were all ordered at the same time at the beginning and at time of placing the order they seemed to have the dessert as they didn't mention not having it, but when it came time to bring it they didn't have it anymore. Considering the food, 2 drinks, tax and tip come out to about $250 per person and there were 2 of us so close to $500 total (which is by no means a small sum of money to me), it was very disappointing.

Husband and I decided to try something different for Valentine's Day, love this area and restaurant has a cool aesthetic (minus the front door entrance - was kinda weird. Its modern and all but weird). We were greeted and the hostess was nice but when she let us know that there's a 2 hour max limit on dining, I just thought that was kinda rude. The server took forever to even acknowledge us. The prefixed menu was nice, good way to try a little bit of everything. So here's where it went downhill: tables/chairs were super close to each other, dish took a very long time - 30-45 minutes wait time in between. I almost thought they forgot about us until my husband said something. One of the server actually brought us dessert and was so confused because we were barely on the first course - I almost just took it because I was starving at this point. How are you telling guest they have a 2 hour dining limit when you're not getting your food in time. And the worst part was that the food was hardly worth the wait. The steak was bland; and the rest was mediocre. I wanted to like the donuts but they were cold so that's also a no.Seated at 730PM and left at 1030PM. Bill was almost $600 for 2 ppl (food was super expensive and not worth the price and the auto 20% service fee). I wouldn't go back to try their regular menu or recommend it to family and friends. One star for location and ambiance. One star for the great conversation and laughs with the couple we met seated next to us, who also complained about the wait and food.
Be the first to Replyjust came here for valentine's dinner with my SO.
service was mediocre. ambiance was nice however food was also very mediocre. this experience was ESPECIALLY not worth the 20% automatically charged on your card which took the both of us by surprise! it left a bad taste in our mouths.. valet was horrendous and super UNORGANIZED. customers also had to walk to their car when we pay? they ended up bringing the WRONG car which is ridiculous. when we asked to speak to the manager, the worker had bad attitude and wasn't willing to work with us. this place is unprofessional and definitely DO NOT recommend going here!
Be the first to ReplyThe food was amazing! The cod was cooked to perfection.
The market place sashimi and the lobster are a must to try. The side Japanese yams were a surprise win but the side mushrooms were very salty. Great service and experience. I would definitely recommend!

I made a reservation and when we arrived we were seated so close together is was uncomfortable. I had toSqueeze in and out of my spot next to another table and I knocked over their drink and felt terrible. The spacing between seats/tables is ridiculous. Also, we sat for over 10 mins without any service. I wouldn't recommend
Be the first to ReplyWhat a wonderful hidden gem.
Kind of an A-lister find. Staff the best, great Som and wait staff - well everyone A+ - great bar and drinks. Eclectic food - chicken - fish - meat - all super tasty and well ... an eclectic twist. Bring your hip vibe and join the cool kids! A+!
Be the first to Replysteak had no flavor and overpriced.
Food takes forever to come. And overall just very poor tasting food.

Came here with a group of 6 for a work happy hour that turned into a full dinner. We did not have a single thing that wasn't delicious, and the drinks are LEGIT. The Peking duck was unexpected given that this is a Japanese restaurant but was quite good. Also, the patio is just lovely.

Ambiance is comforting and relaxing; service is friendly and personable. The food is not as spectacular as I remember from 7-8 years ago, however it is still good (a little less creative and outside of the box from my recollection). Had every one of their deserts; absolutely fabulous, especially the cheesecake and Turkish coffee ice cream. Best items on their lunch menu: grilled salmon and wagyu burger. Side of fries and mushrooms was extremely salty and wiped my palette dry. Lobster roll was and sashimi appetizers were good, but did not meet my expectations.

Another arrogant chef with a North Korea inspired rule of "no changes" to the hamburger delivered by waitress with firmness. There is nothing more un-American than a "no changes" policy for a hamburger. My buddy got the burger (exactly as it comes as there was no other choice) and, sure enough, bottom of burger slathered with thick layer of mayonnaise like substance. The restaurant saved itself from one star review due to waitress attentiveness and free donuts at end of meal (which were pretty delicious).
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful spot with great outdoor seating and service.
Ordered the duck (limited number per night) which was solid. Did not love the red sauce it came with but the duck itself and wild rice pilaf it was served on were delicious. Would be awesome if they had a lettuce wrap option since the buns were so thick it took away from the duck. Kale salad was also good. Has bits of roasted kale in it for texture. Did not care for the mushroom side.

Such a special place for romantic dinners and celebrations. If I ever propose, this is the place I will do it!

Not sure why this place has such a low rating because it's truly a great place to splurge. Let's break it down:Not pictured: my best friend ordered the paper crane. Called it "potent" and said it paired really well with the local sashimi.Local Sashimi: it's different every night, but I imagine it's always sourced from a high-quality vendor. The sauce was on the saltier side, but it was a citrusy delight. Not the thickest cuts of sashimi, but not the thinnest either. Good starter.House baked sourdough bread; I'd skip this next time lol. It's $15 for well-baked bread and the butter definitely gives it a nice umami flavor, but at the end is the day is $15 for bread.Hanger streak: best friend got it and he enjoyed the sauce with it. I don't eat beef so I couldn't try it. He said it was well-prepared and he enjoyed the light ponzu sauce paired with the steak. Lamb rack: omg get this especially if you like more Mediterranean flavors. The tamarind spices with their version of tahini sauce? Magical. Didn't care much for the flatbread, but the lamb was delicious!Shiitake fried rice: excellent flavor; a must if you're a shiitake mushroom fan. Only downside is the rice is almost a hard texture. It's definitely not undercooked; I think it's some sort of culinary style, but it took some adjusting for a second to get it.Curious to try their famous Peking duck sometime, but my best friend doesn't like to share lol so another day.Atmosphere/COVID precautions:Biggest COVID precaution was ample outdoor seating lol. There's no federal or local mandates so everyone is maskless. So if you're someone still trying to social distance, come a bit earlier. We got in at 6pm on a Saturday night and it was empty for like the first 20 minutes. Didn't start picking up till around 7pm. The outdoor seating was nice. Aesthetically pleasing and shaded. The tables for 2 are on the smaller side, but they don't pile on food on your table. If it was a hotter evening, I don't know how pleasant it would be, but I'm sure the shade help. For cooler evenings, there's heated lamps.Service:Valet parking was basically like paying for a parking spot because our car was right outside the restaurant lol. But you could pay and tip valet via your phone.Speaking of tipping, this is a no tipping restaurant. They automatically calculate a 20% gratuity. I didn't initially notice that and raved to my best friend that we need to tip 25%, but my best friend actually read the menu and said it was pre-set. Our server made sure all our questions were answered, our orders came out with good timing, and our experience was great. Their blurb on the OpenDoor app about reservations can seem intimidating, but the restaurant staff were friendly and no one even brought up the time limit. They did ask we make all our orders (minus dessert) upfront, but considering how they operate, it makes sense. For 2 appetizers, 2 mains, 2 drinks, and 1 shareable + 20% gratuity, we paid about $114 a person. Definitely a splurge for most of us regular people, but this is somewhere where I'd say the splurge is worth it in terms of quality of ingredients, solid potion sizes, and really refined service. I'll definitely come back,
Be the first to ReplySat in the patio.
Loved the food, cocktails and atmosphere. Great service. We will be back!
Be the first to ReplySo many people say, which is true.
Hard to find in general, hard to find the door, parking is basically valet only but finding this treasure if worth the effort. To think I have driven past this place 20000 times without even know it was there is my fault and won't do it again. So, one of my terrific business partners lives down the street and he recommended the place as he wants to become a regular. Ok, I will give it a shot. All I can say, this was about the best lunch I have had in years. The dining room is lovely, the bar nice (no TV so that is a nick as a bar for me) and the outdoor patio is wonderful and that is where we ate. Menu is sort of semi limited for lunch but I had the great salmon, one of my partners had the huge burger, one had the kale salad with salmon and we shared the brussel sprouts and the fries. All wonderful, some of the other folks around had some great looking things. We were celebrating something so I had the almost never lunch martini and they had a great dessert. This along with amazing service and terrific management. Now saying this. Great date restaurant and maybe not the best place with the boys if you know what I mean. Loved it.

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner here Saturday night. We made a reservation last minute and we're thrilled they had availability. Everything we had was delicious (tho the cocktails, while delicious, could have been stronger). The stand-out dish of the evening was the boar ribs. I would return just to order this dish! Also there is a huge outdoor heated patio and the decor is really cool. Love the plant wall!

Be the first to ReplyCame here for a dear friend's birthday.
Hindi & The Bird is located next to the newly opened Fairmont Century City Hotel. It's a non descript restaurant sort of tucked away in the back near the entrance of a parking garage. The restaurant is seductively dimly lit with a cool bar and a nice outdoor patio where we were seated. We started off with a couple of cocktails. My friend ordered the special margarita and I ordered the Yuzu Pretty vodka cocktail. Both were refreshing and mine had a nice refreshingly tart yuzu taste. We ordered a few dishes to share. Starting off withe Lobster Roll Green Curry Thai Basil. I don't recall what the roll was, but this was delicious. The lobster was sweet and tender and loved the combination of the curry and basil. One of my favorite dishes. Our waiter suggested the fried chicken. It was boneless chicken thighs, crispy, not greasy. It was okay. Not our top dish. The Hindi Scented Black Cod, Sweet Potato, Pistachio is the thing to get. I can see why. The fish was cooked to perfection. Our second favorite dish after the lobster roll. The furukaki Brussels sprouts were perfectly crisp. The best Brussels sprouts I've had.For dessert we both ordered the sorbet. Birthday girl ordered the champagne, and I ordered the mango. Both were refreshingly good after a great meal. Service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant gets busy on a Friday evening. If you self park in the parking garage, be sure to take your parking ticket, the restaurant will validate. Otherwise it's like $30! Great place for a date night.
