Best place ever.
Food is great and the people who work there are even better. And I can't explain my night here but it was amazing and I love the people there. I would recommend this place 1000%. I love the people who work here and the food is fabulous!!

My friend recommended this place when I was in Sac for my sister's graduation . Everything we've ordered were so good . We did not do AYCE but order plate by plate instead.
Be the first to ReplyFood: is as good as always.
Service: is decent. We came in a day that wasn't busy, but everything came out so slow. Noodle and veggies were already out, no chopsticks, no bowls were on the table. We have 5 adults and 1 little baby (6months old) and got charged for gratuity for 6. It wasn't make any sense. We asked the server to clear it out, but she said the baby counted as 6. ????? A little baby who can only drink milk was counted as 1 service??? LMAO! Find a babysitter before you come here to enjoy the food

The service is wonderful, the Tom yum broth is good but the vegetables are not as much. The killer wings taste like something from the freezer and was microwave. The flavor of the wings are alright but wish the chicken wings were more fried wings instead. The hot tea taste okay. Overall, I love the service, our waitress is wonderful.

Great place for families and friends! The server was so nice and basically ordered for us, ensuring we never had empty bowls and sauces. The soups were tasty and flavorful and the meats and seafood were delicious! Price was also not bad at all of 5 people!

We had a great time here celebrating my birthday! It was definitely different dining experience. We went with a few friends that have not been to a hot pot. We all had to get AYCE. The funny thing was we didn't get through the first tray orders. Only thing is it would be nice if the bar was available to order drinks while we wait. We had to go a wait in our car.

Finally got my Kobe beef fixed after disappointing service and rejection from the downtown location. FOOD Amazing love the quality, marbling, and the sauce! SERVICE Now I totally understand the lackluster service... short staffed and overworked. There were only 2 servers on the floor. Every order takes 15 minutes because they have 9 tables to cover for the two servers. The staff were busy but friendly when you they take your order... so I kinda blame management for this 3 star! If they were staffed, they'll be friendlier. YAYY for the free ice cream green tea for dessert. AMBIANCE Nice, clean, well maintained but there's no waiting area chairs setup. It was raining and cold so we had to stay and wait inside the car.

The heat shabu on fair oaks is more parking friendly than the one downtown, and I definitely like that it's bigger and you don't have to eat outside. The broth, meat quality, and service is always on point. The only disappointing thing is this location doesn't have udon! Not a big deal as they have ramen and rice but I normally love my udon. The sauce is already delicious, but make sure to spice it up with habanero and then add in some garlic and cilantro. BBH and spicy tonkatsu are a must. They do take reservations for small parties, so definitely call ahead.

Fantastic service, tasty broths, nice meats, and nice ambiance. Since I first gave it a try a few years ago, I've probably been back every few months or so. Good quality and quantity is highly addictive. They have a well rounded selection of proteins, red meat, lamb, pork, muscles, fish balls(don't knock'em toll you try'em). And their tonkatsu is fire. In my opinion this location is better all around than the downtown location. Highly recommend.

We tried the AYCE and were not disappointed. You can get two types of soup broth. We chose the miso soup and spicy tonkatsu soup. Both were flavorful; the miso was really good while the tonkatsu was not super spicy. It was also also good when you mix both broths. As for the meat, both the angus ribeye and kobe beef were super soft and tasted really good. Our server was very accommodating and gave us big portions every order. We were also seated immediately and the service was great. I highly recommend try this shabu place.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely DO NOT recommend this place to anyone.
Stopped writing yelp reviews a long time ago, but man this place takes the cake for inciting a poor, poor review. TLDR; horrible service, poorly managed, and food was not worth the $40 + tax per person. My question for you is: have you ever left an AYCE shabu shabu hungry? Read on for details. This review is coming from someone who has dined at different hot pot/shabu shabu restaurants in Sac and Bay Area. Walked in on a Fri night with a group of three others. This was my first official meal of the day, had a long day and came in with a headache. My friends also had long days and and one person had just gone to the gym so we were all looking for a filling dinner. Hostess was not that clear on where to seat us. Ordered a split soup (spicy tonkotsu and spicy miso) and entrees for AYCE and the soup was actually the only decent thing at this restaurant. Meat came out so slow that by the time last call came around, we had already waited nearly 20 min for food. Our waiter (didn't get his name) was nice enough to double our second order of meat to make up for the fact. The woman who was serving us had a HORRIBLE, short attitude with us as if she hated her job, hated the patrons, and didn't want to be there. This poor attitude continued all night as evidenced by other low-star reviews. The heat apparently had to be turned down on the pot because if it were too high, the whole restaurant would shut down from the electricity shortage (?????) Never heard of that at a restaurant, but weird and should definitely get that fixed. Was very irritated that my shabu shabu meat which should be cooked in less than 10 sec, took 2 min to cook fully through and then clumped together and foamed because the pot was simmering not boiling. Didn't feel satisfied upon leaving both with food and service. If the restaurant is understaffed, fine so be it, however don't take out your frustrations onto your customers and slack on your work. My impression is that this is also a management issue and no one cares about how the waiters and waitresses are doing their job. I love to take photos of food everywhere I eat at, but I just now realized that I have no photos of my dinner from tonight because I was so preoccupied with the poor service, lack of food, or trying to eat whatever meager portions we had to split between 4 people. ALSO, was not offered complimentary ice cream even though we watched other tables being served it. My only solution is: don't dine here. 0/10. PLEASE save your money and go somewhere else unless you want the thought of eating a second meal after dining here to cross your mind.
Be the first to ReplyDid the all you can eat option.
Came at 8 and had to wait 30 minutes for table so we sat down and started eating around 8:30 ish. Service was terrible. Our server informed us that last call was 9:15 which was fine with us. She never checked up on us, never gave us refills on our drinks and instead was drinking with another party right next to us! Waited until around 9:05 for her to come by to get our next order in so we could at least place this order and one more before last call. She told us that this was actually the last order we could do and that we couldn't order more than three. Why tell us last call is at 9:15 but then say at 9:05 we can only place one more order? Asked if we could have more broth and she said they already cleaned up and put everything away. Long waits between getting our orders and also forgot to give us half of our order. I would love to give this place another try because the food was very good and high quality.

Came for a walk-in- was greeted and told wait time was 30-1hr went back inside 40min after to check on wait to and was told they didn't have a table for us even though a party of two came after we did was sat before us. We didn't get a call back and we're in fact a party of 2 as well.

Be the first to ReplyI ate at this establishment tonight because we couldn't get
I ate at this establishment tonight because we couldn't get a reservation at the downtown location. The downtown location is awesome, the staff and the food so we assumed it would be the same experience. Well it wasn't, not at all. We walked In and told them we had a reservation for 4. Our two other people were pulling in so we told them they're coming in. They told us they couldn't seat us because it was a "rule". I said that's fine, then they proceeded to tell me that we had to go out side in the freezing cold even though our table was ready and HALF the restaurant was EMPTY! I was appalled because I've worked in customer service my whole life, still in it as of now and I would never do or say that to a client. Especially when our restaurant is half empty. How it should've been said was " Im Sorry it's a rule that we can't have you wait in the building but if you'd like to go order a drink from the bar that's fine with us". I would've been happy with the suggestion and they would've made more money. I understand rules are rules but these rules were made for a packed house with nowhere to sit and wait. It's pretty clear customer service isn't a priority. Restaurant was half full but its apparent why. The food amazing but I'll make sure I get into the downtown one from now on.
Be the first to ReplyDecent food.
Came at the time when there was no line so we got seated right away. I really liked the takoyaki at this place better than the other places I've been.
Be the first to ReplyI came here twice.
Everytime the host were very rude. There was only one waitress at the time. She always over estimated the wait time. she expected you know everything on the menu. Not communication just like a machine. The all you can eat are very pricey but limited of choices. Not worthy to pay 33 dollar plus tax with shitty customer service. And I wouldn't recommend to my friend at all. Will not come back.
Be the first to ReplyArrived at 8PM on a Saturday, hoping to take my girlfriend
Arrived at 8PM on a Saturday, hoping to take my girlfriend out to a nice birthday dinner. The woman who came to the kiosk told us that there was going to be an up to 2 hour wait. We looked around, no one else was waiting and there was a table open. I pointed that out and the woman said it was being reserved. We put ourselves on the list and waited outside in the cold. 10 minutes later a big party left and no one else had arrived. I AGAIN went inside and inquired about the freshly opened table. The woman flatly refused to help us. I looked across the kiosk at the 'reservation list' she was so concerned about: two names, both 30+ minutes old. They literally had two open tables with three names on the wait list and we were the only group out of three that was ready to be served. It's hard to imagine how desparate a restaurant has to be to allow people who are not just unfriendly, but unhelpful and unprofessional to work front of house. We used to really love going to the downtown location but after the way we were treated, it will be a cold day in hell before Heat Shabu ever sees a dime of our money again. Shame on the staff for their conduct, and shame on the owners for not being able to keep their staff in line.
Be the first to ReplyChou was our server for our drunk birthday party tonight
Chou was our server for our drunk birthday party tonight and he was ABSOLUTELY amazing, i live by the other location but will be coming back just for him. he made our night the best and was so helpful and answered any question we had!
Be the first to ReplyThis place is great.
Hot pot is solid and the service is pretty good for feeling understaffed. If you plan to do AYCE and have a beer- it will be best bang for buck to do ayce with drinks. After 2 beers- you've basically made up the difference. This is a staple hot pot for us!
Be the first to ReplyWe had all you can eat with my family of four.
The quality of the meat were good. The place is packing and they had to turn down so many customers because of the wait time. I think they could hire more staff so it will be better experience.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent service with excellent food!I went for the All
Excellent service with excellent food!I went for the All you can eat Shabu and decided on spicy miso and spicy tonkotsu broth.Miso - Good strong miso flavor with enough other flavors and spice to compliment the broth without overpowering. Tonkotsu - Good flavor, but not quite as rich as other Tonkotsu broths I've had at other places (although this could very well be due to the constant boiling and maybe needing to have more water)The veggies were all clean and fresh, enoki mushrooms, cabbage, spinach, onion. We tried the all the meat options, as well as the quail eggs, and everything had generous amounts of food with each tray brought out. I am not the biggest fan of the quail eggs, as they didn't seem to take much flavor from the broth, but that's nothing against the restaurant, I guess I just don't really like quail eggs!Drinks were just water, but the staff was attentive and always was able to top us off even with my constant chugging water after a 100° day.The only issue was with the sun creating an unfortunate glare in the face of my partner, there are curtains, but at least one table (ours) seems to still get light straight into the face as the sun sets. Hopefully they can tint the window a bit, or maybe have a pull down curtain to help for that table.Either way, wonderful experience, and I'll be back again for sure!
Be the first to ReplyBest hot pot in town.
..hands down! The food was on point and the staff and customer service was out of this world. I felt like family eating here. I seldom write reviews but this place is how dining should be. The manager Lyly was funny and welcoming. My server "Her" or "Hur"...was possibly the best server I have ever had. Thank you so much for the experience.
Be the first to ReplyFood was delicious.
Small amount of options for the AYCE. Very good food filling. Crack sauce was amazing, but spicy if you cant handle the heat.
Be the first to ReplySurprised I hadn't written a review yet.
Love this place! Aside from wait being long, you are walking into great food, a great deal, and a fun vibe.Food: have gotten their a la carte and AYCE. Their beef is where it's at. Super tender when cooked not too long in the broth (good number of broth selections too). AYCD is a great companion to eat more. Vibe: fun and young! Usually they play hip hop and R&B, so you feel like you're partying at a buffet lol.Wait can be long, so come early or make a reservation.
