🤮 1/5 - Before giving any positive or negative feedback to any

Before giving any positive or negative feedback to any given establishment I ask myself: How reasonable is my appraisal? How reasonable were my expectations leading to that appraisal? And so we come to Hayato.Having been a frequent customer for years - and author of a prior review, since removed - I will not be patronizing them in the future.During the year that Covid had effectively locked-in the establishment, "to go" orders were the restaurant's bread-and-butter. I was one of those customers helping to keep the establishment on life support, and as I ordered food for 2-3 people anywhere from 2 to 3 times a week I don't think I am overstating the case. One time while leaving within its last half-hour I was told by a waitress that I was the only customer that they had the whole day.Throughout this period of the plandemic, they were conscientious about answering the phone, and only too agreeable to take my requests. Today I called multiple times to place an order, only to get rings followed by the recorded greeting. Believing there might be some telephonic problem, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and drove to place an order in person. That's when I was told that they were intentionally not answering the phone as they were busy but would be happy to take my order. The thing is, if they wanted my business they could've just as easily taken the order over the phone, or told me that they were too busy to take phone-in orders. And so rather than take a few seconds on the phone, they would sooner impose upon me - and therefore any other customer - to wait an additional half hour or so to have the food prepared.I averaged quite a bit of money spent for any given week's visit; I'm also a generous tipper. So it is obviously not the price of the food (expensive enough, but good enough to justify it) with which I have a grievance. It is the lack of reciprocal respect for one's time. If there is another lockdown, perhaps they will have a greater appreciation for folks like me.Or not.
