Chicken no longer as flavourful
The chicken is no longer that flavourful. I had a plate of chicken rice (5.50) add chicken (3.30?) And bean sprouts (3.80)

The restaurant offers the same menu as its main outlet in Chinatown but boasts better ambience. We can now try its famous soya chicken and roasted pork rice and hor fun without going to Chinatown.
Be the first to ReplyEnvironment was terrible
First the air-conditioning is not working and we had to sweat our way trying to complete the meal. We order half a chicken, Charsiew and roast pork, wanton soup and a vegetable. The roast pork was 3 layers of fat with no lean meat. The way they slice the chicken was so big piece that it looks awkward trying to hold with chopstick and trying to consume a chunk of the meat. Other than that to pay a price for this service which they do not serve you and everything is self collect at the counter, obviously it's to pay for their brand and not the quality of the food. This quality can easily found in any coffeeshop.

Didn’t know there is a branch here until I came here for business. Same standard as hawker Chan elsewhere - I mean their classic soya sauce chicken and it’s gravy. Business was brisk even on a Monday at lunch.
I hope this branch stays afloat, because the food tastes exactly the same as the original.
Average.
Food tasted good but not "Michelin Star-worthy" presentation. See pic. Maybe I had too high expectations but judge for yourself. They have full restaurant kitchen to prepare dishes. I would expect this presentation if they were preparing in a hawker stall.

I went to the original Hawker Chan stall in Chinatown and had to queue for an hour. This branch is much quieter, - it has its own air con premises and is only slightly more expensive at $6 a plate. The chicken is just as tender and the dumplings (both fried and steamed/ soup) are yummy. Will come again for a quick, cheap and tasty meal.

This has 1 Michelin Star! It is very clean and food is reasonably priced and delicious. The vegetables were in an amazing soy sauce.

The soya sauce chicken is probably one of the most tender you'll find. The noodles aren't too bad either. Not much of a queue although there's not much of an ambiance in the restaurant. Having said that, it's air-conditioned and the prices are quite reasonable for the quality.
