Happy Lamb Hot Pot, Coquitlam Reviews from The Last Year
Came here for dinner with my parents and it was a self
Came here for dinner with my parents and it was a self serve AYCE hotpot place which I thought was kinda fun. Hotpot is already interactive so to pick your own hotpot items yourself was a nice change. They kept replenishing items that would go low and every item was super fresh. Got the regular AYCE menu and at $30.99 it was a good deal compared to other AYCE hotpot places. But the best part surprisingly was the service. Only two servers working tonight and the tables were constantly clean, drinks were refilled and most importantly, they were always smiling. Lily and Mila were so genuinely friendly that it made for a pleasant dining experience especially from an Asian restaurant where good service is rare. This might be my new go to AYCE hotpot place in Coquitlam.
My first time here.
Was impressed with the well appointed, well ventilated interiors and overall cleanliness of the place. The service was also friendly and perfectly timed. Broth flavor and sauce selections were just ok. Food safety regulation was clearly not being followed with raw meats being stored above raw vegetables in the self serve refrigerated showcase. Showcase had a varied and good selection of veggies, meats, carbs and seafood. Quality of sliced meats was impressive for the price point. Garlic beef was the only item that bad - slimy in texture but in an off putting way .. possibly from over tenderization?? Ample free and safe parking on the rooftop of Henderson Mall, even after hours. One of the most reasonably priced AYCE hotpots. Would def return for the good value.
Let me start off by saying this is an AYCE place.
It wasn't too busy when I went and there is paid parking located in Henderson Place. I ordered the premium option which came with the Lamb and the premium meat. They also have a selection of seafood balls and seafood in general like : Oyster, fish, crab and shrimp. There is also a selection of fresh vegetables. The dining experience was good. The broth had good flavour and the side options were good. The service was good. The place has a casual setting. It's worth a visit I think
This was our first time at this location for lunch.
Their only option was AYCE plus the price of the broth. Their food selection was pretty good. There were some cooked items included. The sauce bar was basic with the standard options you would expect. Additionally, there were items you can pay extra for such as soda drinks and dessert. Service was alright. Staff dropped off plates of beef and lamb. Staff stopped by regularly to clear dirty plates and refill drinks. Overall, it was a decent meal. Kids under 5 can eat for free which is great since AYCE can get pricey.
Wouldn't risk it. Should be shut down.
I'm surprised they haven't been shut down due to health code violations and how they dispose of Thier grease filled soup.... don't get anything that has been dried .... they just have it out back by the dumpsters roasting In The sun for rats and birds to access. We witnessed them shoveling "soup" into the trash bin and all the greasy fat was draining into the sewer.
Unlike the Burnaby location, their broths are either beef
Unlike the Burnaby location, their broths are either beef or pork. I don't eat either so I probably wouldn't come to this specific location.

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
