I come here twice, the first time they have bad service
I come here twice, the first time they have bad service attitude. Ignore us when we come in. They have empty seats but let us stand and wait there for no reason and about 30 mins. This is the second time I eat here. When I am checking out, I gave 5 dollars for tips, the waiter checked the amount of tips from the order machine. And then he told me he will void my payments definitely, and require me to repay the meal with 18% tips for checkout. He firmly told me that the lowest requirement for this is 18%.(I should say the lowest suggestion of tips at checkout is 15%). And I don't find any places in the restaurant shows that I must pay the tips. At last, I pay it with 11% tips. He double checked the bills and asked us again and again, did you make the payment? First, the mandatory tipping is unreasonable. No one in the restaurant told me this thing until the payment is end. Second, the waiter not only check our payment but also check the amount of tips for the bill. And he also void the payment and asked me to repay the bill by his own idea. That should not be allowed by the happy lamb. Third, we are just two Asia female students. I'm not sure if there happened some discrimination for the "mandatory" tips and the bad attitudes we met?

Wow!!! What an experience. I love it. Super interesting and even more tasty. Best for 2-4 to share. Get a lot. You'll eat than you think. I like spicy but you might start with Reg. Anywho, loved my meal experience at Happy Lamb.
Be the first to ReplyWatch out for the spicy broth; it gets hotter as you eat.
It's addictive! The lamb is my favorite. The assorted mushrooms and all the veggies are great. It's a really fun night out with a small group.
Be the first to ReplyThe best hotpot in Chinatown.
It is also the most affordable. I have tried i every hotpot place in Boston Chinatown, but this place it the best. Specifically the tomato broth; it's out of this world. The udon noodles are to die for. I recommend the bok choy which is always fresh and plentiful. The service is always great and all of them are incredibly nice and hospitable. The sauce bar was a great edition as well. The past two semesters, I have gone here multiple times a week, it's created a genuine addiction. The food, the service, and the atmosphere are all incredible and I recommend this specific restaurant above all places in Boston.

Love it! Cute spot with quality food! I like how they do food trays so the food doesn't take up table space. Service was fast and well done. The meats were fresh. The vegetable platters were big. We ordered 3 and the server actually recommended to get 2 and if we want another after we can get it. He was right and I appreciate the honesty. Can't wait to go back again!
Be the first to ReplyHappy Lamb is always a great time! I was able to walk-in on
Happy Lamb is always a great time! I was able to walk-in on a Friday night and get a table around 5:30 but by 6:30 there was a line. We got the best of both worlds for the soup base. For protein we got beef tongue, beef and lamb combo plate, fish fillet and the fish balls with Roe and for veggies, we go the bokchoy, enoki mushrooms and the tofu skin. The food was great and so was the service. You do have the signal the servers but they are pretty fast once you get their attention. There's also a sauce bar so you can make your own sauce.
Be the first to ReplyThis is my favorite hot pot location in Boston yet.
I always get the best of both worlds broth bowl, the spicy broth is spicy, so I mainly use it to cook my meat slices to give them a delicious spicy flavor. I think this restaurant gives you the best value in terms of food to price, it is a lot more affordable than the other hotpot locations in the area, while still delivering great service and food.

It can get pretty busy, but you can get on a waitlist, leave your phone number, and they'll text you when your table is ready. Easy enough to just stop at a local coffee or boba shop to kill some time if you're not from the area. Don't expect to find any parking in the area unless you plan on waiting or paying through the nose for a garage. It's close to a bunch of T stops, so I'd say it's very accessible. We always get the "best of both worlds" since the sichuan style broth is suuuuper spicy in the best way possible. But the house broth is the perfect relief when your mouth starts to overheat and maybe even go a little numb. They have a great selection of meat and veggies, and the portions are generous. The service is quick and they clear empty plates quickly. I know some people complain bc they don't have sauces readily available, but I always say if the broth is made well, you shouldn't even need sauce. On a cold winter night, you can't miss those steamy windows tempting you to warm up with a nice pot of soup. Quality food with quality service, I'd say this is one of the better hot pot options right in Chinatown.

On a cold Boston night, this place hit the spot! This was my first time trying hotpotand I had an amazing experience. We ordered a lot of food. The broth., thebroth is so flavorful.. yumm yumm.. no words. You got to try it to understand what I mean when I say flavorful. The vegetarian broth was delicious. The marrow broth was spicy and I am glad we didn't get extra spicy. I had no idea the sauces had an extra cost until after the check arrived but my concoction was pretty darn good, although I could easily forgo it.My only complaint is that the server refilled marrow broth in the vegetarian broth without asking. Once the server had refilled the broth, I found out it was marrow broth, it was end of my dinner.Apparently they do not refill vegetarian broth with vegetarian broth. And I hope when they say vegetarian they really mean vegetarian as they state on the menu. Not wanting to mar my dining experience and for family, I didn't complain about my vegetarian broth being mixed in with marrow broth. We ordered bok choy, tofu, mushroom and udon noodles and some varieties of meat for rest of the family and it was a lot! Overall an amazing excellent, interactive dining experience with family. Not sure how it compares with other hotpot's in the area. Loved our dining experience here.
Be the first to ReplyThis was my first time trying a hot pot and it was
This was my first time trying a hot pot and it was absolutely amazing. With that said it was 4 of us and we ordered way too much food, we ordered a combination of like 4 different lamb and beef platters, potatoes, 2 types of noodles, my favorite was the glass noodles. It was around 30 pp which was super good for the amount of food we ate. The broth was so flavorful, but the spicy one is very spicy so we ended up kinda mixing them. The sauce bar is also great but you do pay like a dollar or 2 extra. Great experience I'd come back in a second.
