It was the first time to tried this restaurant.
The food was so tasty. ( I ordered spicy hot pot ) And the staff members are very kind and gave me a good suggestion. Also, I left my phone behind. They kept it in a safe place for me!! Thank you so much!!
Be the first to ReplyThere was a huge group.
.we came over after a meeting and took over the round table in the corner...it was amazing. We ordered lots of food...I had the dandan noodles and vegetable dumplings and both were amazing. Apparently this is a place my friends frequent often...and I know why...it was amazing! Really enjoyed it and hope I can come back again!

Brown rice and vegetable dish consistently contained hard stuff and vegetable likely weren't washed properly. Teeth damage and crack risk, do not eat here. Never had these issues at other chinese restuarants.
Be the first to ReplyFood is always good.
Good portion sizes. The place can be noisy when full hence I go off hours. Highly recommend.

went with a friend and had the most unfriendly service, the food was good especially the dry pepper style and the lo mein. the place is so dirty, the bathroom smelled like something died and there was no toilet paper. there was water on the floor in the bathroom and i slipped and almost fell. i asked to speak to a manager but there was no manager working. order to go if you come here.
Be the first to ReplyI was really hoping that HD would live up to the
I was really hoping that HD would live up to the expectations set by all the 4 and 5 star reviews I saw here. My partner and I showed up around 6pm on a Friday night with no reservation. The first things I noticed but did not really judge or evaluate too harshly were that almost no one working there (or eating there) (not even in the kitchen) that I could see was chinese, and the restaurant's logo of a young chinese girl with full, sensuous lips slurping a noodle was just..... off. Oh. Also, the grade from the health department is "pending". still, they sat us at a 2-top (as long as we promised to be out by 7:15). There was a lone guy with a mac laptop wearing a Han Dynasty t-shirt sitting alone at the big round table in the back. He looked Russian to me. He was definitely not Chinese. He wasn't eating. He was just sort of hanging out alone at the biggest table in the place and to me he seemed out of place. After an uncomfortably long wait a waitress appeared. We ordered. 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and 2 drinks. 5 minutes later a guy shows up with our entrees. we explain that we would like to get our drinks and appetizers first. So he left with the entrees. 10 minutes later our appetizers and THEN our drinks appeared. My beer first, then my partner's cocktail a few minutes later. The cold sesame noodles were very delicous even though they lacked the usual cucumber pieces and scallion garnish. They were just noodles and sauce. There are no steamed vegetable dumplings on the menu so we ordered fried. We were served fried chicken dumplings. oh well. we ate them. they were fine. The pea shoots steamed with garlic were fantastic. The black bean chicken was fine though the portion seemed small. We paid (it was kinda expensive). we left. Even when we left there weren't any more chinese people eating there which is not a great sign. We won't be returning. Your mileage may vary.
Be the first to ReplyA friend and I were finally getting dinner together after
A friend and I were finally getting dinner together after not being able to see each other in person for quite some time and her recommendation for eats was the Han Dynasty Chinese Restaurant on the LES. Having never tried the place I was of course curious and made sure to peruse a little on Yelp to see what others had said about it. It sounded fine to me so we set a reservation for around 6:45PM and headed there together after meeting up. The restaurant is just a five or so minutes walk from Union Square proper and since it was torrentially raining out we were moving a little faster. They have an outdoor dining section which weather made a nope option and once inside we were seated quickly and brought some hot tea. A very nice thing to have on the chilly, rainy night for sure. As I can eat most things, provided there aren't too many onions in them based on my stomach just not liking them anymore, I let my companion guide the decision process. We ended up ordering spicy cucumber cold appetizer and don don noodles and chicken dumplings as the hot appetizers. The main dish would be garlic chicken and we'd be fine with the included white rice. Everything came out rather fast and I don't think it was even ten minutes of a wait which was amazing. We shared all of the dishes until we were full and even had some to take home with us for lunch the next day. All of the dishes were super tasty and a recommendation. The staff were attentive and friendly and while I didn't detect an in-house WiFi my device grabbed the Link NYC feed which was nice to have for the time being. Pricewise the whole shebang ran about $64 with tip which is not bad considering there were three appetizers and a main dish as our order. I say give them a try if you are near the place and hungry for some tasty Chinese food. Order to go if you don't feel like sitting down.
Be the first to ReplyI can't figure out why this place is popular.
Our vegetable fried rice had very few vegetables. The spring rolls were nothing out of the ordinary. The chicken in black bean sauce was ok . The tea was lukewarm. Service was very good and quick, though.
Be the first to ReplyFood is good, a notch above usual take out.
Spicy. Ambiance is a bit loud on weekends with young crowd. Staff is friendly but a bit slow.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful food.
My Chinese friend and I had three dishes of varying spiciness. The service and quality of food were great and the prices are not high. The place is enormous, so one might not even need reservations. (We had a Friday lunch at noon.)

Sensible Chinese food with an appropriate combination of taste, portion sizes, and price to justify ordering from when wanting a quick take-out. $16 a dish. 4/5 stars as a lunch spot.
Be the first to ReplyThis is my favorite Chinese restaurant in NYC.
The Kung Pao is excellent. I order it with Tofu. (Vegetable) Fried Rice is delicious - they don't use soy sauce, it's perfectly seasoned w just the right amount of vegetables and egg. Definitely try it. Vegetarian dumplings are very good, stuffed with spinach. Pork Dumplings w hot Chili Oil are a must try, they are addictive. Always good quality from Han Dynasty, reliable and fast. I have ordered from here for years and always excellent service.
Be the first to ReplyReally, really good.
Always delicious! Crave-able, you'll want more. Eat it often and share with friends.

I have been here before and found it to be friendly, great food and good value. However today was definitely different no lunch menu it's presidents day? First time is 17 years I have heard this, so I looked over the menu to order and was horrified the prices have basically doubled I won't be back and today was very quiet, another table of people left when we there there due to lack of lunch menu, on the death watch list
Be the first to ReplyMy favorite chinese lunch spot/delivery spot and it gets
My favorite chinese lunch spot/delivery spot and it gets kinda lit with going out music for a dinner spot on the weekends haha. Nomz: So because this is one of my go-to places I have a set of things I always order, classic lol. Lo mein: It's amazing, the picture perfect lo mein that lives in your mind but you can never find, it's here - you can also request spice if you like spicy and in my opinion it makes it even better. Beef in garlic sauce: Saucy, sweet (but not too sweet) and a little spicy, flavorful with peppers and onions and really tender meat. Amazing! Fried rice: I usually get vegetable because I've gotten meat in the other dishes, tasty and classic, you can also request spice in it if you want it. Wontons: My go-to because I like more spice, although I wouldn't say they're super spicy. They're the perfect bite and tastiness. Pork dumplings are also good, a little less spicy and a bigger bite. Service: Good service, they're nice and patient and check up on you enough times in case you need anything else. Ambiance: Cute bar, simple in a good way and cool murals on the wall. Nope or Dope: Dope, it's really good, it's the not cheapest Chinese place and that's the good thing; it's quality Chinese and you can taste it. Will come back again and again!
Be the first to ReplyPlace is absolute flames.
Have yet to order anything bad here, everything is 100% gas. By far the best Kung pao chicken I've had. If you're a real one you'll get the crazy peanuts (I know they're a little pricey but trust) and put it on the Kung pao chicken. Absolute. Fuego. Vibe is definitely a younger crowd, which is probably why their cocktails are also dank. Service is great, too, everyone's super friendly even when they're busy. I bring all my friends visiting NYC here and all love it. If you don't like this place, I will fight you.
Be the first to ReplyDo the people who left good reviews even eat szechuan food?
Do the people who left good reviews even eat szechuan food? Come on, stop lying. I'm not sure about other franchises, but this place is not it. I love me, szechuan food but never again I will eat here. Na, this isn't it. I should have known this food was going to be nasty. We sat down next to a group of people that were rapping up, and they left a ton of food on the table. I wonder why, but let it go. What we ordered. Mai Tai: Weak no where tasted like an Mai tai.Dumplings in chili oil: Dumplings had no flavor. Sauce was serviceableScallion pancake: flakey, which is good but very greasey.Dan Dan noodles: laughable. It was their cold sesame noodle heated up. It tasted like it was heated up in the microwave. Shrimp friend rice: rice good, not greasey shrimp, salad shrimp, small bowl, and 13 dollars. It's not worth it, but it was the best part of dinner. Now the crispy duck: stay away! Cold duck chopped roughly tossed on lettuce, and hoisen sauce dumped in a dipping dish. I'm trying to save you money. Don't go to this chain. You will regret it. Service was ok.

Han Dynasty is amazing and very consistent! Love their Dan Dan Noodles and their cumin lamb!

Love the flavor here, I had the kung poa chicken with white rice. The lunch specials are great and affordable. The crab Rangoon was really cooked well with that light s crisp to it. We had the dumping on chili oil which was great.
Be the first to ReplyReally good spicy noodles and chicken.
So spicy that you sweat - a lot. Now that is good food.My go-to for spicy malaa-type food. Fun vibes, or for takeout.
Be the first to ReplySichuan cuisine has become such a hot item (#1) in the US
Sichuan cuisine has become such a hot item (#1) in the US that it only seems fitting that Han Dynasty has its Philly roots firmly planted in the East Village, where the saturation of Chinese places has only become stronger over the years. It's been close to a decade since their hyped opening and they show no signs of slowing down. The main dining area isn't all that spacious but that doesn't stop people from coming here. For a long time pre-pandemic this place was so packed night in and out that the wait during prime hours could be as much as an hour. Most people are dining her with groups and it's too ideal of a cuisine not to. Service varies obviously, but is obviously a bit more abrupt during busy hours.A big part of their success has been boiled down to consistency. Their food is pretty standard Sichuan classics, ranging from dan dan noodles to dry pots. For the most part, the food is good. They have a decent variety and the flavor is not overly masked in Sichuan spice. While I think a good number of their dishes are a notch below most solid Chinese spots in more prominent neighborhoods. I have a soft spot for the dry pepper tofu and will always likely order cumin lamb and/or red oil wontons. When they're full scale busy again, you can be like me and order takeout or cram a table with friends while feasting in heart of the EV? if it's the latter, make sure to bring very good company._________(#1) Another terrible pun.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon and was quickly seated - there was no one inside at 1PM, but by the time we finished eating the place was packed. DRY POT STYLE BEEF: Good, but not as spicy as dry pot usually is. FISH AND TOFU: This was really good! Thicker than I'm used to, but I liked it a lot. MAPO TOFU: Too sweet for my taste. BOK CHOY: Definitely get - it's a good palate cleanser for all these spicy foods!DAN DAN NOODLES: Less peanuty than some places, and a good balance of sweet and savory. Overall, everything was great. They had a limited drinks menu but we didn't get anything. Service was quick even though there seemed to be only one server.
Be the first to ReplyLove this spot for szechuan food! First time getting this
Love this spot for szechuan food! First time getting this since the pandemic hit and it's as great as I remembered. My favourite is the dan dan noodles which is the perfect balance of peanut and spice. They're dry noodles with a bit of sauce but they also aren't so dry that they're hard to swallow. The bits of meat throughout add a bit of a salty kick to the dish which balances well with the otherwise not particularly salty noodles. Amazing dish that I always order (also tastes great as a leftover). This time, I got the scallion pancakes and spicy wonton. Scallion pancakes were so fluffy and had many layers (can only imagine how difficult this was to make). Spicy wonton weren't exactly up my alley - they were falling apart a bit and the wonton skin was a bit too thick for my liking.
Be the first to ReplySecond time at this location, and third time to Han Dynasty
Second time at this location, and third time to Han Dynasty itself. It was probably the worst of our experiences, but at the same time, it wasn't even all that bad. I can definitely see us coming here, and bumping up the rating to a 4 or a 5. First off, we were seated rapidly, which was just great considering we didn't reserve, and the place was crowded. The Dan Dan Noodles showed up rapidly, and we were very satisfied with the taste. For some reason, this dish here was better than the one at their DeKalb Market location. So, we finished it fast. And then waited for a wee bit too long for our second dish. It was a busy night, so that's understandable. The dry pepper chicken was a disappointment, mainly because the chicken pieces themselves were a little lacking in...chicken. They were tasty, but it felt like a massively unhealthy dish with little protein. We'll be here again because Han Dynasty has been a good choice in the past, in spite of the not-so-great experience this time.
Be the first to ReplyI come here every year for valentine's day as a sort of
I come here every year for valentine's day as a sort of tradition that me and my partner have. Every year has been great, a lot of food, great taste, good service, yet all that changed this year. When we order the food and it came out, we realized that the portion sizes were tremendously reduced yet the price remained the same. We were stunned, but the worst part was when we asked for them to package our leftovers so we can take it home. Both my and my partner left a decent amount of food to be packaged, yet when we got home we noticed that they didn't package most of it. We were both left with maybe 3 bites of food even though we left a full meals worth. It makes us wonder if the server took food for himself which absolutely disgusts us. I think it's time to end the tradition of coming here, now knowing that I can't even ask to pack my leftovers without the server taking from it.
