Guerilla Tacos Art District LA is a Must!
Guerilla Tacos, the landmark Los Angeles,Calif restaurant is located in the heart of the arts district in DTLA.The food is superb, the staff is friendly and they have a full menu of mexican/fusion cuisine that is super delicious-the prices are very reasonable for such tasty and fresh cuisine.I had their braised and sauteed lamb tacos and their yellowtail tostada-both were excellent. They have a delicious green salsa and a mouth numbing habenero-its your choice.
Parking lot is just across the street and it's family friendly. They have a cozy bar food area and an open air patio area if you like.Open 7 days.

Great flavours
OMG so much flavour. Maple donut desert will knock your socks off. Great cocktails. Allison & Pattie were so nice. A must visit for food & friendly & atmosphere.
Be the first to ReplyMust visit if you are a taco fan
Situated in an 'up and coming' graffitied walled street district of Los Angeles. If you do not mind the drive this is the place to go. The potatoe taquitos in tomattilo sauce are to die for. The sweet potato tacos are great. The Baja cod taco was excellent. The drinks menu has some eclectic drinks and I tried the Paging Rum - divine. Do not think twice - absolute must visit.
Be the first to ReplyFirst Time, But not my last!!
Met my friend here who lives just down the way in the Arts District, and was really happy with my taco choices! My friend is a Vegan, so she was able to order the Sweet Potato Taco and the Potato Taquitos which are her favorites. I'm happy with proteins, so went with the Pork Char Xui Taco and the Hamachi Tostada. I will say the Pork taco was filled with a ton of meat, and came with some great flavored sauce and veg bits, which made a nice flavor combo and the Hamachi Tostada was also a great combo of citrus flavor with the Hamachi. Not a low-cost lunch, but very flavorful. We also enjoyed their Donuts and Sweet Corn Cake for desert and we also had one of their specialty cocktails, but I can't remember the name of it. Try it out and see for yourself! Iโll definitely go back here again with my friend in the future!

I have been wanting to go here for a year or so but the food truck was never convenient and then they closed in order to open the brick and mortar. I kind of wished I hadn't gotten around to going on this trip. 3 stars is probably somewhat generous.
We ordered an eggplant tostada, hamachi tostada, hangar steak taco, lamb tongue taco and mushroom taco.
The tostada tortillas were nice and crunchy but the blue corn tortillas for the tacos were pretty tasteless. The eggplant on the tostada was very cold, muting the flavors and making the texture subpar. The hamachi itself was good quality. As far as the tacos go, the hangar steak was decent but nothing special. The lamb taco was $7-8 and had very little tongue and was just meh. The mushroom tacos are served in twos and I guess are meant for knife and fork use because there is salsa and a ton of greens on top of the folded tacos. Problem with that was that it was a PITA cutting bites. I spent a bunch of time trying to saw through the thing.
No way I'd go back here, especially considering the quantity of good tacos elsewhere in LA.
New location same high quality
This is the best tacos I've ever had, by far. Creative, tasty, fantastic ingredients.
The specials were also great. It used to be a food truck, it is now a restaurant in LA.
For this quality of food it is extremely inexpensive. I'll be back, and more than once.
Tacos Unparalleled
Tried 6 different types of tacos and the sauces they create are unbelievable on each. Usually a great place will do one thing really well and they seem to do everything really well. Staff is very good and attentive in this order at counter then sit with a number style of dining. You can order extras once seated. They appear to have sufficient staff to cover the volume they produce. Tacos are $5 which may seem a lot to many looking for a cheap taco. These are NOT cheap tacos. I like cheap well done tacos, but these are a cut-above your average street taco. Two are sufficient for most folks.
Be the first to ReplyOK if not very hungry
My overriding impression here is how small the tacos were
A hungry person could knock off at least 4- which would not make this a budget gourmet stop
Less hype maybe and more food ?
Sweet potato was the best of the bunch
Fish taco like every other you have ever had
Deeply unsatisfying tacos. Not worth the trip or the exorbitant amount of money.
Awful, expensive tacos. In a city of amazing tacos, there is no excuse for you to go here and spend your money. Youโd be better off going to any taco truck on the street.
Going in, I had high expectations, as the hype surround Wes Avila and Guerrilla Tacos is at a fever pitch. Thereโs no denying that the tacos and tostada are beautifully plated, but the tacos fell short of satiating my cravings for something deeply satisfying. I wish they had focused more on seasoning and less on the plating.
We started out with the hamachi tostada ($11), which was okay but definitely did not justify the price tag. The tostada overpowered the hamachi which was laid on the tortilla with little seasoning, and I wish the hamachi had been prepared in a way that could have brought out the flavors a bit more.
Then, the tacos came out:
Sweet Potato Taco ($4) - This is it. The most hyped, disappointing taco ever. The tortilla was falling apart. The sweet potato and feta were underwhelming. I pulled not one, but TWO sticks of thyme from my mouth while eating this taco. Both sticks were buried deep in the sweet potato, so there was no way I could have seen them and picked them out ahead of time. The flavor itself was not remarkable in anyway, certainly not enough to deserve accolades. I wish I hadnโt bought into the hype and saved myself the $4.
Baja Fried Cod Taco ($5) - Decent taco but way overpriced at $5. The toppings overwhelmed the fish, and it just felt like a sauce was missing to complete the dish.
Short Rib Taco ($5) - Good meat but also missing a finishing touch. Tortilla was not standing up to the moisture of the short rib, which just indicates a poor quality tortilla. I would have preferred Guisados to this, since they have a better tortilla and better balanced flavor for their braised meat fillings.
Theyโre supposed to be tacos โinspired by the cityโ, but I left feeling angry, hungry, and ripped off after spending $35 for two people. Would not recommend.
